I’ve been having Sandy cut my hair for a couple of years, and I have to say that she always does a really nice job. I can really tell that it’s a quality haircut, mainly because I don’t get it cut very often and it always holds it’s shape as it grows out. I had it cut very short early July, and it’s not November and it still looks great!

Worst experience ever. AVOIDATALLCOSTS! I decided to try this place out since it was close to where I lived and it was mediocre — at best. This was 2 years ago, and I had SUCH a bad experience and it stood out in my mind so much, that I knew I had to write a review as soon as I got a Unilocal account. Here’s the memorable story: I showed up on time to my appointment and it was relatively empty with only one hair dresser and a receptionist. The lone hair dresser was still working on someone else(which is fine, that happens), but an assistant assured me that she would be done soon and that she could wash my hair for the appointment. After luke-warm/cold water and a rushed job, I then sat there, with soaking wet-hair that was dripping all over me(since they gave me a tiny face-cloth sized towel to hold/“wrap” my hair in)… I had to continue to wait for the hairdresser for another 35 minutes. By the time the hairdresser finally got to me, my hair was barely damp and I was cold and wet. She then gave me a quick, rushed cut that was basic and NOT at all what I asked for. All in all, I probably waited a total of 45 minutes, and got 15 minutes of a hair cut that was over-priced TERRIBLE. Don’t even bother to go, there are plenty other hair salons near by that would do a MUCH better job.

I bought a gift certificate to this salon for my mom because she lives in the town. She always goes to one particular salon, but I thought it would be fun for her to try a different place. She went to the salon for a one-hour facial. The aesthetician began working on her for 20 minutes or so and then left the room when she applied the mask. Although I’ve never had the person leave the room during facials, it wouldn’t have been such a big deal if she actually came back! After about 20 minutes, my mom called out to see if anyone was there. No answer. Fifteen minutes later, the aesthetician came back into the room to start the next step. Meanwhile, it’s a one hour massage and 55 minutes have already passed. My mom had to be somewhere at 5:30, which is why she scheduled the one hour appt at 4. Anyway, the woman finally finished up about 5:30 and my mom went to pay. The facial was $ 10 more than the gift certificate, so my mom paid the difference plus tip. When she arrived home later that night, there was a message from the salon on her answering machine. The woman at the front desk charged my mom the wrong price and my mom owed $ 20 more. They had the nerve to ask her to drive back to the salon that evening with the $ 20! I’m not sure she ever went back to give them $ 20, but she’s definitely not going back for any services!

I have been going to the Lavish Salon for five years now. I no longer live in the area, but I make the 25 mile drive to have my hair done by Michelle. She is personable and really listens to what you want done. She does a great job on both womens and mens hair. They also have a spa downstairs, but I would not suggest getting a massage there. It is not relaxing as a lot of the stylists upstairs wear clunky heels and walk heavy on the floor above. I’ve had waxing and manicures, both of which I recommend.
