Sam’s Hot Dog Stand

I love this place. I tried to go in the store once and it was so packed I had a panic attack and had to bail. It’s really small and people were nearly standing elbow to elbow. The tables were nearly in the walking area. Which isn’t great for someone who is claustrophobic.
The food is great though, thank god for a drive through that I didn’t realize was there the first time. Staff was super friendly also. I can’t stop thinking about the food now, I’ll definitely be back. Just not in the store. Lol

Still a 5! Great dogs at great prices with lots of toppings to choose from. The only place I will get a hotdog from, they are that good.

Always friendly and helpful staff, as well as great food! Love that they sell Ale8 and root beer bottles! Hot dog with beer cheese and chili is awesome!

I didn’t know this place was located in Winchester to be honest. When I passed it on the Bypass, I had to pull in and try it out. I heard all kinds of great things about their sister ship in Lexington, but never had tried it. Damn was I missing out.
As the name suggests, they sell hot dogs and sausages. They also sell bagged chips, cole slaw, fresh made cookies and brownies on this day.
I also wanted to have a new place in Winchester to Unilocal about and to eat. We are a bit limited on restaurants here. With that being said. The flapping of helium filled weiner dogs caught my attention so my friend and I pulled in for a quick bite.
Jenny and Kristin were working the counter and we really friendly and helpful. They greeted us as soon as we stepped and asked how they could help us. My friend quickly ordered and I sat looking over the menu for a few minutes before asking their opinions. They helped me decide and didn’t try and rush me through at anytime. That was really nice.
I placed my order for Polish Sausage with hot chili (no beans) and beer cheese of course. I followed that up with a diet Ale 8 and a bag of Grippos. YUM! If that meal didn’t say Winchester on it, I don’t know what does.
So quick, fast and tasty while being friendly to the old wallet as well. I highly recommend this to any one. I will make it a point to come here quite often now. SO GOOD.

Went back today & was disappointed; the chili & the frank itself were not as good as last visit. So… bad day? Declining? My taste buds on vacation? Will give it one more try; but hope next one is better than this one!

A recent addition to the town, I had no idea that is was here. A nice place to grab a quick lunch. Has a drive thru window for customers on the go. A variety of toppings for your dog. The staff is friendly and so very helpful. I will be back… and soon!
