This is honestly a less than average Kabob joint. I’ve been to several places in NOVA that are fantastic. I won’t go back to this one. Chicken was bland and dry. The only upside is that the Naan is good. I suppose they are fine with duping people in the Winchester area of thinking this is what real Kabobs taste like.

Pretty good food but pretty awful hygiene. Went there and soon after realized how dirty the place was and felt.

Pretty decent. I’ve had better, however I’ve had way worse. I liked the chicken kabobs.

This place has us coming back every weekend! My husband and I are always satisfied with the food and the service. The taste is always the same which we love! We always order the combo meals with beef and chicken and their Chic pea stew is amazing! The ladies who work here provide great customer service! –this past weekend we ate here Saturday AND Sunday! 5 stars for us!

Long story short… young lady out front was amazing. Food is not authentic, chick peas were bland, veggies were not thoroughly grilled, overall flavor was bland and not what I’ve experienced in many of the other Northern VA Kabob houses. Limited options in Winchester but certainly this is not the go-to place for any level of Mediterranean.

The service is great! And you get plenty of food for a pretty fair price! And the food is delicious!

Nope, nope, nope. I wish I had not given this place a chance. First time was because I had a hankering for a gyro which is what I ordered BUT isn’t really what I got. The meat is obviously premade re heated from a box, and while it wasn’t horrible it Definitely was not on par with say Roma in Oldtown. *le sigh* My dealbreaker was the friggin bread. It is NOT pita, it’s some kind of flatbread/ciabatta? It broke apart and I basically had a gyro salad in a basket that I tried to eat. Also, the tzaziki sauce SUCKS, waaay too much lemon, no herbs, just weird. All in all, a blah meal. I love greek food, and this stuff was not my idea of Mediterranean. If you want a delicious gyro, go downtown to Roma Woodfire Pizza.

I had hesitated to eat here based on some of the reviews and a complaint from my coworker. Today my office decided to give them a try(including the previously unsatisfied coworker). All three of us agreed it was really good. My coworker mentioned several times she’s glad she tried it again. Hummus was homemade and really good. I had a gyro sandwich and as several have mentioned the tzatziki sauce is great. Bread is a little different than most middle eastern breads I’ve had. Not pita, not nann, not really flatbread(but flat) but very tasty. I’d eat here again.

DONOTEATHERE! I was in Urgent Care then transferred to the ER for intractable vomiting and diarrhea with a confirmed diagnosis of SEVEREFOODPOISONING! Not just us getting sick and assuming food poisoning. Doctor confirmed food poisoning. It hit my husband the next day. We now have some massive medical bills coming our way, several days of missed work for both of us, and many more days of miserable recovery thanks to this one ill-advised dinner. Neither of us have EVER… I repeat EVER been this sick in our lives. Never again. I don’t care how the food tastes. Something in the kitchen is NOTCLEAN.

We have been eating here for 2 years and sadly, it has gone down hill. Time: Sunday afternoon, 3pm The place is FILTHY. The tables are dirty, dirty dishes all around, the bathrooms are awful, and the workers DONOT wear gloves. The self serve drink station is situated within full view of the kitchen. We watched a worker, touch her face, cough, and scratch her head, then touch food. Without washing her hands. Another was on her phone, an order came in, and she began to prepare it. Without washing her hands or putting on gloves. Not to mention, we were the only people in the place for about a half hour. The staff’s utter disregard for cleanliness, made me wonder what was going into our food. Food ordered: falafel sandwhiches and fries because we did not want the staff’s hands all over uncooked food, like lettuce.etc. The oil was dirty and gave the falafel a horrible brown color, the inside was uncooked. The fries were hollow. I would give this place one star, but we did not get sick(Surprisingly) and the hummus is decent.

ZZ Kabobs is our go-to place for family take out. Their chicken kabob platters and gyros are our favorite. Their chicken and rice always tastes very fresh. For a family of 4 and around $ 35 you can get a family meal with meat, rice, salad and bread. You can’t beat it. The tzatziki sauce is the best I’ve had in all Mediterranean restaurants in the NoVa area. You won’t be disappointed. The locale is always very clean and the service friendly. There’s rarely an issue or delay finding an open table.

I must admit I’m a big fan of Mediterranean food and ZZ Kabobs is a great place to quell my craving. Ive been there several times in my travels and have always enjoyed my choices. Their kabobs are very good. The meat is fresh, well seasoned, and always juicy. I am a big fan of the beef, but really enjoy the tuna and lamb. Their hummus is absolutely spectacular! Its served with warm flatbread and I have a hard time leaving any on the plate. The rice they serve is very good, flavorful, and lots of it. The gyros are excellent and I would eat them daily if I lived any closer… I highly recommend!

Avoid if you can. Falafel sandwich was a clear bust. Frozen falafel a on panini bread. Better off with Sonic next door.

I’m honestly surprised to see some 1 star reviews. Many are complaining about the authenticity; regardless, it’s good food! I had the hummus and falafel platter. The falafels were crunchy on the outside and soft with just the right amount of spice on the inside. They come with a generous amount of hummus, tzatziki sauce, sliced tomatoes, and cucumbers, and thick slices of bread, which reminded me of Ciabatta. The lady behind the counter seemed very kind and brought the food to the table and the restaurant was clean. I plan to return next time I’m in town.

I don’t normally like to right something so horrible about a place, however I think the public should be warned. This was the worst food I have ever eaten in my life. First of all this is not Mediterranean Food, not even close. I not even sure what the meat was. I ordered two Gyros which was supposed to be beef and it tasted like dog food. The sauce tasted like Thousand Island dressing and the bread i am not even sure what it was, maybe a cross between flat bread and a kaiser roll. The service was okay and the place was clean and cozy. To bad about the food I wont be back!

Winchester has a lot of different food places, but I’m still surprised a kabob place exists out there. And it’s good. i only wish they sold pumpkin! The place does make me a little sad b/c everytime I go there, I’m the only person there. IT’s lacks personality but the food… speaks for itself.

With all respect to other reviews, they have no clue what they are writing about and what they know about this restaurant and this area. I come from Middle Eastern descendant, I had tried our food in many restaurants all over US. Keep in mind that this place is in WINCHESTER, where it’s hard to find a descent place to eat !! Zzz kabob offer amazing lamb kabob and really tasty chicken kabob, add to that baba ganosh which I love so much. May be there is a little twist in the taste but still taste like our real food. For all other people who wrote about the price of this place, HELLO, do you live in the area? From Washington D. C to West Virginia most of the restaurants in this area will sell a chicken kabob for 13.24 $ as minimum without any thing to drink where zz kabob sell it for 11.69 $. So if you have no clue what are you writing about guys, PLEASE stop misleading people. There is a HUGE difference between middle eastern restaurant and an A persian restaurant !!
