Awful quality. First time customer. I go takeout, took it home and actually just dumped it down the drain. The shrimp and lobster sauce tasted like Italian sausage with carrots in it and was otherwise devoid of flavor. The shrimp was extremely poor quality and was extremely mushy, like the cheap freshwater type stuff with no texture or flavor. I got the jumbo fried shrimp and found a pencil size strip of shrimp about 1.5″ long hidden in the middle of a fried dough stick. Terrible. The only thing edible was the fortune cookies. I will never go back and hope that someday Windham gets a good Chinese restaurant.

Very, very average. This is a place definitely oriented toward take-out business only, and you’ll find a menu full of the expected Americanized Chinese fare with not much in the way of anything special or memorable. It’s OK for what it is, but there are definitely better options in Salem or Derry. Unfortunately, nothing else in Windham.

I’m always happy with Li’s. The family is always very polite and the food is prompt. It is a little on the pricey side… but the food is good and when I want to get something quick and be home this is a definite place I will go.

Below par for even a neighborhood Chinese takeout with rather low expectations. As a family, we tried several«traditional Chinese» items, such as kung pao chicken, as well as typical«Chinese American» item such as chicken wings. We were disappointed with all of them with the taste, flavor and texture.

Very disappointed. We have tried a few times and the food is just alright at best. The final straw was when I ordered takeout and went to pick it up and the lady at the counter told me my «friend picked it up». I told her no they didn’t. And for about 5 minutes she tried to talk me into believing my friend picked it up and refusing to believe she gave the wrong order to someone. Then she didn’t apologize but agreed to make it again. So while I was waiting for my food«my friend» called to say they got the wrong order. Right in front of me the lady played dumb and tried to tell them they didn’t!!! I couldn’t believe it. I actually almost left then but I was so hungry. Never did I get an apology or an acknowledgement they made a mistake.

Really like everything we get there. We order at least once a month. I especially like shrimp with green beans. Lo Meins, egg foo and rices are really tasty. Will continue to go back.

Hey this place was pretty good! I mean, it is Americanized Chinese takeout, so you have to take«gourmet» with a grain of salt. Also, if you were expecting china town authenticity then go to china town! The fact that this place is mostly for takeout is pretty obvious, they have a few tables but they don’t even have serving dishes. If you eat in you still get styrofoam takeout boxes. We had the orange chicken and the home style bean curd. Both were excellent! Orange chicken actually tasted like oranges. The home style tofu was soft inside and crispy(!) outside, different than what I’ve had elsewhere but really really tasty. Veggies were fresh and the rice tasted like today’s rice. The hot and sour soup and egg drop soup weren’t the best but weren’t the worst. Food was really hot so if you take it home it’s still hot when you eat it. Yum!

I tried Li’s, and it is not good and definitely not Gourmet. I ordered General Tso’s Chicken and unfortunately what I got was deep fried dough, with very, very little chicken, covered with sauce that wasn’t good either. The pork fried rice wasn’t made recently. There may be some dishes that are better than what I ordered, but I could not order from there again.

Tried Li’s last night on recommendation from my co-worker. The food was delicious. We did takeout and ordered, Chicken Fingers, Chicken Lo Mein and Steamed Chicken and Broccoli. Nexttime I think we will try something else to see if they put anything weird in their egg rolls. I have to agree with Joe S, it is def on par with NYC Chinese food. Being born and bred in Brooklyn, NY, this is pretty much as close as it can get to anyplace back in NY. Only thing missing is Mai Fun, which they don’t have up here in New England.

Some of the best take out around, prices are a little high and there are only two tables to sit in in the place. But always good hot food!

I have had Li’s food a handful of times and it is usually a shot in the dark on quality. Got some chicken wings & pork fried rice last night and the wings looked like they were from a starved chicken. The rice was alright. To be honest I used to travel further for my Chinese food and only buy at Li’s because it is closer. I guess it’s time to start driving further again. Another thing does every business but a couple think that they can gouge Windham residents with there prices. Way more food and actually better for the $$$ at China Star in Salem.

This review is based on the Chinese takeout. I stopped by Li’s Asian Gourmet for lunch recently. They offer the traditional Chinese dishes, plenty of sushi & sashimi options, and 23 Chinese Combination Platters($ 5.38-$ 5.98 for lunch, $ 7.18-$ 7.98 for dinner). The prices here are low to moderate for the Chinese food($ 5-$ 15 range) and moderate to high for the sushi bar entrees($ 18-$ 60*(sushi for 2) range). Li’s is not that big and is geared for takeout with chairs for waiting and one table in front of the order counter. Coke cooler beverages available and cups of complementary hot tea in the waiting area. The kitchen is not visible from the counter. Okay, I got the lunch combo #4 Shrimp Lo Mein($ 5.38 plus tax) with pork fried rice and 2 chicken fingers. The food was ready in 10 minutes. I did get a good amount of hot food for the money. The lo mein was decent and had a modest amount of shrimp and vegetables in firm noodles, a bit salty. The pork fried rice was light brown in color with plenty of chunks of roast pork. The 2 chicken fingers(white meat) were pretty good, dipping into the duck sauce. Overall, a decent and quick takeout lunch for under $ 6.
