We found this fabulous vineyard on our visit during Country Music Fest at Hunter mountain a few years ago and have not only found our favorite wine, Sparkling Diamond!!! But also a great friend in the owner and master winemaker. We have since visited several times and on our last visit he waited for us since we were traveling from Westchester. Doug is not only one of he nicest people we have ever met but has wines that are amazing! Great Ice wines and we recently fell in love with the red wines he just made! Cant wait for the summer wine slushies!!! Thanks Doug for loving what you do and letting us enjoy your place and your wines!!!

The people here are great! It’s definitely not a pretentious winery, it has a bunch of new people, locals, and regulars. The wines are solid. The raspberry and cherry are DELICIOUS. They start of sweet and jammy with a tart fruitiness at the end. Also there is an adorable mix breed doggy named Pijou who greets everyone and is beautiful. This is a fun and welcoming local business that you should patronize.

Having a family home in Wakins Glen and living on the north shore of Long Island, I’m accustomed to large vineyards. My wife and I spent a day in Woodstock and I wanted to take a trip to see a local winery. I plug the address into the GPS and we’re off! I’m driving on these small one lane roads, driving seemed like a forever thing. Even a local Sheriff pulled over to let me pass? We finally pull up and its a small looking location. I thought it was a shed at first. Walking inside opened up to a small hometown style bar with local folks enjoying their locally grown wine. My wife and I walk in and grab a seat. We see the tasting menu, $ 20 for a taste of their various wines. In my relationship, I’m always the taster. Whatever the taste that I think my wife would like, I’ll tell her so. So off to the tastings! The thing I love about upstate wines, they have a faint local grape taste that I just go wild over. Its an actual Upstate New York grape taste that everyone should experience. I started off with their sweetest white, followed by a semi dry(which is what I bought) and a bunch of sparkling wines. We’re tasting, drinking and talking and I hear a few couples talking about Disney. My spidey senses kick up and I introduce myself and told them I just stayed at the Beach Club over the summer. Do you what I love? Talking about Disneyworld to other adults! Come to find out, this couple is from Lawg Island! We settle up with our wine and out the door we go. A nice spot to taste local wines. I’d hate to drive these roads when its snowy so be aware if you’ve never been to this location. Cheers!

My husband and I had such a lovely afternoon here sipping fantastic wine and chatting with the wonderful owner Doug. The wines were all delicious and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Doug is such a nice welcoming guy, we felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. My husband had lots of questions about the machinery etc used in the production of the wines and Doug was kind enough to takes through to the back for an impromptu tutorial! This is a super family owned business and you can tell a lot of love goes into all the wines. I cannot recommend a visit highly enough!

A lovely, scenic drive along the back roads from the Albany area yielded a small building and vineyard with grapes hanging in clusters. The scenery was truly lovely. Inside, it is bigger than it looks — you enter into a bar area and beyond that is a large living room with comfy couches — but the best part was the back deck which we had to ourselves(the bar was crowded). We bought a bottle and sat outside to sip — we really liked the Diamond wine. Doug is super nice and friendly and even when busy treats everyone like they are a VIP. There is a cute little dog that came running to meet us and as a dog lover, that was right up my alley. You can do a tasting with commentary from Doug for $ 20, a bottle of Diamond was $ 16, a glass of wine or a wine slushie was $ 6. They have local cheese available for sale but this is not a place to go to eat. Everyone there was very friendly — license plates were from Brooklyn, White Plains, Long Island predominantly. It is a great stop if you are in the Hunter Mtn area. We are already planning to bring my mom as she would love sitting out on the deck looking over the mountains and the grapes.

Doug, I appreciate your service and the wines were superb. My only point is most of us don’t know squat about wine so when we say, ‘Chardonnay’ don’t give up on us and point to your list. That s when you turn up your natural connection to your wine. Now, start your customers appreciation of your wines just by saying, well the Chardonnay is similar to Friend Resiling! or something:)

Everything everyone else said about this place AND Doug the owner is totally right. At the moment Doug is a one-man show running this vineyard and tasting room, but he should be expanding in the near future. The quality of the wine and the ownership is outstanding. He is very generous with his tastings and makes you feel at home. This place is definitely worth checking out.

Visited the Windham Winery this past Friday and what an experience! It takes a lot to blow me away, but this establishment — from the wine, to the grounds, to Doug the owner — were all top notch and exceeded the already high expectations I had when me and the wifey walked through the front door. Doug was amazing, and it was a true pleasure to meet and chat with him during the few hours we spent in his winery. Got to meet his friend Joe who shared some cheese he had to pair up with our wine, and Doug even gave us half a cherry pie free of charge when we were leaving, which was awesome and very much appreciated. The spirit of Doug is something I will always hold dear, as his whole«Cool, man!» attitude is what the American Dream is really all about. Always happy to see someone doing what they love for a living, and you can see the care and quality that goes into his winery, as well as all the delicious wine Doug is cranking out. We did the tasting and the highlights were definitely the Diamond, Pijou’s Peach and the adult slushy. Words cannot express how amazing the Pijou’s Peach is — easily the highlight of the trip. Anytime we’re back in the area this will absolutely be our first stop.

A cool and relaxing afternoon spent after zip lining at Hunter Mountain. Our group went on a rainy and stormy day, so we had the place to ourselves. We met owner, Doug, who is very friendly and knowledgeable with his grapes and wines. 1st tasting is whites. Diamond, a semi sweet white is absolutely delicious, and easy to drink for novice. Followed by a Riesling, not as sweet compared to Diamond, then Diamond Sparkling, Riesling Sparkling. Last but not least, is Chardonnay with 50% California /50% Chile, which is interesting & tasty. 2nd part is Cabernet Franc, a tasty red, followed by an adult slushy made of Cabernet Franc, Cherries, Cinnamon & a hint of nutmeg, which is very refreshing for a hot summer day! Then we were introduced to an Italian wine, which is still young but already have distinctive buttery flavor. We can’t to taste when the wine matures! At a very reasonable tasting price, we sipped and tasted for 2 hours and talked about everything — from wines to food, travels, family to business — then finished with tour at the vineyard. I gave it a 5-star for the enjoyable time spent, not being rushed. For the tasty Diamond wine that we end up buying a case to find g home with. For the idyllic and laid back ambience on the mountain with fresh air. Will definitely be back the next time we go skiing or zipling in the area. A change of scenery and more refined palate than beer and greasy food at the ski lodge, LOL!

Came here for my sisters bachelorette party with a few of her friends and it was a very nice location. Very spacious, had games, and outdoor seating. The wine was tasty! We each bought a bottle. Doug, the owner, was super friendly!

Doug was a great host, very friendly! His dog was a pleasure to meet, as well, she was a great greeter! The wines were delicious, and Doug was generous with the pours. We left with a bottle of the Diamond wine, a sweet, but very clean white! The«big kids» slushie was amazing with the apple cinnamon and ginger flavoring. A must stop for locals & vacationers!

I’ve been to Napa, Sanoma, all over Europe and even the North fork in NY, and this place is more memorable most of the«fancier» vineyards I’ve been to. Doug, the owner really cares about the quality of the wine. The Diamond is amazing and the ice wine is even better! My favorite is the mulled wine tho! Better than anyone mulled wine I had in Europe! Would love to go back to visit and buy more wine!

What an experience! It was our first wine tasting and I don’t think I will go anywhere else. The owner, Doug, was a great host and the knowledge just spills out. Relaxing yet entertaining. We will definitely return! Bought the Daimond and Mountaintop Raspberry(love them).
