Traveling for work stopped here to get a quick cut. Never again. Stylist was rushed as if I had Inconvenienced her. Asked to have the fade blended a little better and she told me it was just my hair and nothing more could be done. It’s a cheap cut, but u get what you pay for. Store is dated and not particularly clean. Don’t waste your money.

Tried to stop by for a quick brow wax but the doors were locked at 7:40pm when the sign clearly stated that they were open until 8pm. A woman at the desk looked right at me and didn’t lift a finger. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially after reading the reviews from people who actually managed to get in!

I’m not exactly a very demanding type when it comes to getting my hair cut. I have no allegiance to any specific place, but I seem to end up here more often than not just because its close to where I work and fits well into my lunch hour. I call for an appointment(I really don’t care who it’s with because all of them are fine), I point to the photo on my ID badge and say«this is how I want it cut», and a half hour later I’m done –the price is right, and its an OK experience. And somehow, I ended up on their e-mail list so they e-mail me a coupon for a buck or two off every few months. All in all, they make it very easy for me to be a fan…

I stumbled across this cost cutters while home on leave from the Navy. I was just trying to get a quick trim prior to a family dinner. I showed up and was greeted by a woman who would later cut my hair. I told her that, if they had time, I would like a shampoo, cut, blow dry, and flat iron. I was the third person in line, but within 15 minutes i was in a chair ready to get shampooed. Great! The shampoo was great. It smelled great, and it tingled, but there was no smock, so all of the water spray got all over me and my outfit. No bueno. After the shampoo, we headed over to the cutting section. I told her that I wanted no more than an inch off, to maintain the style that I already had(Which cost me a LOT of money in San Diego.) and to make absolutely sure that after my bangs were cut, they were long enough that they could be pinned straight back, as I need them that way for work. She started cutting, and she never, not even once, stepped back to assess whether the length of my hair was even in the back, whether the layers were uniform, etc. She trimmed my bangs, which was the primary reason I went in that day, and now they’re all uneven across the front of my face. And the most frustrating part of all is that, instead of keeping the cut I had before, where the bangs were the only part of my hair that was short, and everything else was long, she tapered the hair on either side of the bangs to present a more gradual appearance. That is NOT what I wanted, and I cannot pull that back into a bun to wear in uniform. After all of that, she blow dried my hair with a round brush. I waited for her to reach for some thermal protection spray and turn her flat iron on, but she never did. After my hair was dry and poufed into an extremely frizzy hair band style(I have super curly hair.), she asked what I though, and started to undo my smock. I asked her if she could flat iron it, and she told me «oh. We don’t do flat ironing here.» Excuse me? Then WHY at the front desk, when I SPECIFICALLY said I wanted a flat iron, you told me you could do it? I would have never gotten the cut had I known I’d walk out looking like a Newfoundland. She fumbled with a curling iron for a minute, trying to get my hair a little more presentable that way, which is fine, if you’ve got some technique. She didn’t try to straighten it in layers, though, and wound up just making the top layer a little straighter, and laying it back down over the layers below. I was confused, but had given up. There’s no going back now. She finally stepped away, and I freed myself from the chair. I didn’t even look in the mirror on my way to the reception area. She totalled everything up and informed me that my price was 45.00. I almost choked. $ 45 for one of the worst styling experiences of my life? I was so frustrated that I handed it over, and then went straight to Target to buy myself a flat iron to bring with me to this dinner party. I wound up fixing my newly cut, $ 45.00 hairstyle in my uncle’s bathroom. Unacceptable, cost cutters. I understand that for a smaller price, you get less, but I paid a price comparable to a more exclusive salon, and got an awful experience. I will not be returning in Connecticut, home in California, or anywhere else.
