If I could give this guy a BIGFATZERO, I totally would. Negative numbers should even be a choice! This is the worst doctor I’ve ever met. I went in with plantar fasciitis pains/problems on 5÷13÷15. The entire time I was there was 50 minutes. The front counter was nice enough. But, nothing to write home about. I’d say an average mostly polite check in. The office was clean, I’ll give them that. But, it all went downhill from there. Dr. Del Monte checked my foot, had me do some stretches, walking, and poked around. Of course my foot didn’t hurt nearly as bad because I had stretched it well prior and well, Murphy’s Law. I workout six days a week. He didn’t like this. In fact, he told me I would see a lot more results in my life if I ate a vegan diet, and stopped my exercise. He went on to lecture me without stop(even when I tried to interrupt him to explain that I’m educated). My eight year old daughter giggled ENDLESSLY because she’s a vegetarian and I have given her the same lecture he gave me several times — on where/how to get protein. He didn’t once ask what I eat, or what I knew. She even tried to interrupt and did quietly say a few times that«Mom, you already tell me this all of the time.» He ignored her as well. He actually said to me at one point«I’ve never been as big as you. But, you’ll really benefit from a vegan diet.» I lost 107 pounds eating right and exercising. He never gave me a chance to even tell my story though. He was too busy obsessing on vegan diets. His recommendations were to bike and do resistance exercises. He told me no squats, no lunges, no calf raises, no jumping, and no running. I’ve already been modifying these things for some time. He said at one point he didn’t even want me walking. Later though, he said hiking on my Costa Rica trip would be just fine as long as I stuck to flat trails. Umm??? Oh, and he told me that most patients coming in just struggling from there daily lives and no exercise. I took two months off in November when I had severely sprained an ankle. I didn’t walk on that foot for at least four weeks. Couldn’t. Now even my left foot is hurting. It wasn’t used(even for exercise for two months). I found him to be completely unprofessionally, rude, and very unhelpful. I not only wasted my time but left in tears. He left me flabbergasted and certain I won’t ever be returning to his offices. I’ve heard of doctors like this but I had never met one until now. I also found out after leaving that a friend of mine once went to him and in the first appointment also decided the same — she would never be returning.
