Great food! I don’t typically look for Cuban food. This was great and fresh. Healthy, clean type food. Friendly service. Gets me thinking I have to go to Cuba! Grilled chicken breast with grilled onions, chimichurri sauce. Red onions were different and great. Plantains either savory(crunchy and ok) or sweet(somewhat mushy, camerlized and wonderful, get these). I would recommend

I didn’t know what to expect! I am so happy I tried this place out and can’t wait for the day I’ll make the drive back over! I’ve been to restaurants in little Havana in Miami. The food here was on par with what is served there. It was so tasty. Our waitress was so sweet and funny! Also the coffee drinks were so tasty. But I made the mistake of Getting two and got a little sick after from the caffeine but it was so tasty! I couldn’t help it. This is a must try! Also I am vegetarian and loved it!

Food here is delicious. I loved the pork, it was out of this world. Make sure you try the vinegar sauce on the table to bump things up a notch. Loved, loved, loved it.

Had some Puerto Rican food last year in the Santa Rosa area it was good so when I saw that there was a Cuban restaurant here in Windsor we had to try it. My wife had the vegetarian plate with both Toastones and Maduros. I had the Lechon plate with also a mixture of sweet and green plantains. I prefer the green plantains but both were very good. Small establishment but on a Monday evening with the Warriors playing game 5 not many people out on the town. Would definitely go back and try there sandwich menu.

Ok I could go on and on about this place and all of it good. I could spend an hour saying the owners are authentic and adorable because they are. These are real Cubans with ties to east coast so they also have character. The food is hand made Dailey and it’s amazing amazing . If you saw the movie(chef) it has some of that feel to it. Beans and rice and pork chops Cuban style with tostones OMG! The expresso amazing Cuban style. In any event so glad that are here just stumbled upon them and can already tell I’m a lifer. Anthony Bourdain would like this place :) Until next time :)

Hands down best Cuban food in the area. We ordered the Lechon(roasted pork) plate, which comes w your choice of red or black beans, tostones or sweet plantains, or half and half, and salad. The pork was a perfect combo of crispy on the outside and juicy and tender in the inside. AMAZING! BLEWMYMIND! The portions are big! We also ordered the arroz con leche(rice pudding) for dessert. Amazing as well. They also make great cuban pastries which sell out pretty fast. But we were told that you can call ahead and preorder them, even by the dozen. They’re about $ 1.75 each. The waitress was very nice. Don’t know what those other reviewers mean when they say they didn’t get good service. If you’re nice to people, they’re usually nice back. So maybe y’all need to crack a smile from time to time. We had GREAT service! We live about 65 miles away, but will definitely make the drive up here again. Totally worth it!

Totally dig this spot! The owners are extremely nice and the atmosphere is great. The food is delicious. Everything was cooked wonderfully and tasted delicious. My grilled chicken sandwich was fantastic, but did fall apart a bit. It was messy for sure, but I just figure it’s part of the cuisine. I honestly love cuban food and this place hit my craving for sure! I will definitely go back!

Poor customer services do food was just O-K! I went in to pick up an order I asked the girl about the hot sauce on the table and if I can get some with my To go order and she replied with«that’s only for people that eat here» what??? She couldn’t give me some To go? If I was a business owner I would want to make customers happy! Got home and the food was bland and not a lot of flavor. Won’t be going back.

Shared the croquetas, tostones de picadilo appetizer, and pollo a la plancha between two people and this was more than enough food. Cute location, very cozy, looked clean. Service was friendly and fast, was pleasently surprised with the food, really tasty, the tostones de picadillo were yummy! The grilled chicken was great too! Will defenately come back, want to try their flan and expressos next time!

Never had Cuban food before, was recommended by a friend so thought I’d give place a try. Prices may seem a bit steep at first but you do get a good portion for what you pay. Read some reviews about bad service but I was welcomed with great hospitality by the waitress(Hailey) and even the cooks the second I walked in. The meat was delicious, I personally loved the plantains. I’m not sure if they add anything to the beans(I ordered Black Beans) but I could not get adjusted to the taste. I’ll recommend this place and will be back in the future when I’m in the mood for some Cuban food

Kept driving by this place and today I decided I’d stop here for lunch. I am so glad I did. The smell coming out of this restaurant was intoxicating when I pulled into the parking lot. I couldn’t wait to go in and eat. I got the picadillo plate and it was absolutely delicious. Excellent aromas and flavors. The food was fresh and hot. I’d definitely recommend this place. The waitress was friendly and helped me pick some options since it was my first time. I am definitely going back to eat here again.

CUBANAWESOME!!! FOOD: Authentically Delicious! TASTE: Wow! Prepare for a culinary delight. CLEANLYNESS: Very Clean, like nook and cranny clean. SERVICE: Like most Cuban restaurants I have experienced, there in no rush. But it is so worth the wait. «Keep in mind, this is not pre packaged, home cooking takes time. ATMOSPHERE: The outside is deceiving with a simple sign and soft blue walls. Inside is an inviting but modest, tropical local laid back /relaxation feel that delivers hints of Cuban culture. Blue jeans with a T-shirt will fit right in. RELAX your in Cuba! BAR: Yes, It is about six seats and they seem to offer some beers and great local wine that was locally inspired to compliment Cuban food. I am told. Very cozy and relaxing, it also seems the locals have discovered a watering hole, so enjoy some small talk. PRICE: About $ 9-$ 14 bucks a person depending what you get. $$ EXPRESSO: YES and it is authentic delicious made old school. It doesn’t get any better! SEATING: this is a small place, I am guessing it holds maybe 50 people but they have some additional outdoor seating. LARGEGROUPS: Depends on the time if its off hours maybe 12 but during lunch or dinner. Not more then 4 – 8 people is my guess. PARKING: It’s a small lot but manageable. I noticed there is street parking on the other side also. Parking may become a small issue as I believe this place will become a local favorite. The menu offers a large variety of choices for everyone and those who have a difficult diet like Paleo, Gluten Free etc. I was able to easily adjust to my needs and they were very happy to give options. I say it the way it is, please check out my other reviews. I rip them down or build them up. Honesty is the best policy!

No way! First the prices are crazy and the food does not taste cuban in any way, shape or form! Prices are highway robbery!

I moved here from Miami a year and a half ago and was really missing my Cuban food!(Cafecito, croquetas, the list can go on!) I was beyond excited to find out a Cuban restaurant existed somewhat close to where I live! The food is AMAZING! Best food I’ve had in California reminds me of home! The owner is very nice and he always makes we are satisfied. Only downside is they don’t open Sundays!

Well there is a reason people have been driving down to this place… The food is on point! I had the pork croquetas, when I asked for galletitas, the owner quickly introduced himself with«you ain’t from around here». We quickly sparked up a conversation while chatting over my plate of Lechon. Let me tell you, from the salty crust to the black beans, to the tostones, every bite felt like I was back in Miami. I most definitely will be coming back to this place.

I tried Rumba Cuban Kitchen for the first time today. Ordered a Cuban sandwich with the Chimichurri added. I must admit, the sandwich was quite delicious. Just the right amount of pickle and condiments for my taste, and there was a good amount of meat. The sandwich was a bit pricey at $ 13, but large enough that I only ate half for lunch. I’m looking forward to that second half tonight. As others have said, the plaintain chips are nothing spectacular. Just a bit of something crunchy to compliment the meal. The sandwich, however, made up for the flavor. Service was very friendly. I orders my sandwich to go, so I didn’t have much opportunity to experience the service, but the owner/cook and the girl behind the counter were both very friendly. This place is definitely worth coming back to.

I rated them 3 stars because they’re not very friendly. A smile is rare. I’ve been multiple times because I love Cuban food and my experience has been the same. I prefer El Coqui in downtown Santa Rosa. The staff is friendlier and the menu is a bit larger with guacamole for the chips and dipping sauces for the pressed sandwiches.

These guys nail Cuban cuisine. I always go for the picadillo and finish with arroz con leche. The food here is flavorful and fresh and definitely top end cuban cuisine. With other cuban spots you’ll find plates with a whole lot of boring brown colored food and deep fried bits, but at Rumba the dishes are bright, delicious, and comforting as well as exciting. Try the tostones with your meal, they’re amazing.

I’ve had mixed opinions about writing reviews about restaruants that are still trying to figure themselves out. That said, Rumba opened over a month ago, so I think it’s fair game to let you all know how it is. The answser is complicated, however, but very delicious. My first visit to Rumba, I went with another Unilocal elite, and we both had an interesting time. The restaurant was chaotic, badly timed, and had little to no quality customer service. The waiter was also the chef, and couldn’t figure out what he was doing. He forgot our starter(and never brought it), and almost didn’t charge us for our desserts. The food however, is why we returned for a second visit. We both started with a Guava and Cream cheese turnover($ 2 *****), that was OUTOFTHISWORLD. If nothing else, stop in for a Cubano expresso and a turnover, and you will leave happy. For our meals, we both opted for the Pan Con Lechon($ 9.95 **), which was good, but a little boring. It came with plantain chips that were cold, a little stale, and looked like they came out of a bag from Cost Plus World Market. We ordered a side of the tangy Mojo and even that wasn’t enough, so we asked for some mustard. Yes, my dear Unilocalers, that is how boring it was. Thankfully, the turnover was so good, we decided to return and see if they could redeem themselves. On the return visit, there was another waitress and our previous waiter was now just cooking. We ordered each a turnover, I had the delicious and light Coconut($ 2 ****), my Elite friend had the Sweet and Savory($ 2 ***)-a ground meat topped with a syrup glaze, and our new to Rumba friend had the Guava Cream Cheese which is still my favorite. For our appetizer, we shared the Tostones($ 4 *), which were boring and had no dip, and the surprisingly interesting Croqueta($ 4 ***), a fried ball of meat, piping hot, and slightly spicy. Our entrees were diverse, I chose the Grilled Chicken Special(11.95 *), which came with white rice, whole black beans, tostones, and avocado. I asked to sub the tostones for the soft plantains, but they forgot. My chicken was rubbery and not cooked fully inside, and almost not seasoned. The rice was naked, and the beans tasted like the came straight out of a can, and the avocado wasn’t ripe. My dining companions had the Cubano($ 11.95 ****) with rave reviews, and the Little Havana($ 19.95 ****), which had garlic aioli that made the sandwich a winner. Basically, if you dine here, it’s like having thanksgiving dinner with your folks; sometimes yummy food, sometimes not– completely hit and miss, frustrating to deal with, and leave you wishing you had a glass of something stronger than coffee to get you through it.

People who give this place 1 star are being ridiculous. Who takes the time to ruin a new restaurants reputation? . I’ve been here three times, the first day was rough and they had no sauces. Since then they have added aolis, sauces, and condiments because Americans need«saucy luxuries» that poor Cuban people can’t afford. So bring your own hot sauce, and check YOUR attitude at the door because this quirky family is doing the best they can. Yes the daughter could use some customer service training but she’s very sweet. The hamburger is small, maybe order two. :) I love the Saturday pork special, the chicken sandwich, and the burger is good too Food: 8 Atmosphere: divey and quaint People: family style employees
