Amazing experience and it was a large group Business dinner! Our waiter offered the family style appetizer which served a little of everything including antipasto, calamari, cheesy bread and meatballs. Dinner included steak, chicken parm, short ribs, salmon and their amazing chocolate truffle bolognese. We had 1 order of risotto tat took about 6 – 7 extra minutes to get out and we did not make a big deal of it. The waiter brought out a dessert platter to make up for it. They are so nice and attentive there. Definetly will return for non-business me

I have never had meal at the actual restaurant as I prefer to order out– I’ve ordered from Vito’s By the Water three times in the past two or so months and after my most previous experience– I truly feel that it is necessary to write a review so the restaurant could make some change(s) to make ordering out to be more successful for the others in the near future. I used GrubHub(an online restaurant ordering website) to order the meals because I am disabled and it is a hassle to make a phone call– the first time I used this service; I was satisfied with the meals that I received. The second time I ordered– everything was decent with an exception that I received«Clam Casino Pizza,» which I did not order but I thought it was my mistake because I did ordered Clam Casino appetizer– might have clicked on pizza by accident and I allowed this mistake to «by pass.» But once I got back home– I reviewed my order online and looked at the menu– I did actually order clam casino appetizer and it was the restaurant’s mistake but I did not bother to complain because it was minor. However– hoping that the third time would be charm– it was ASBOLUTELYDISASTER and I totally believe that this whole scenario could have been prevented if somebody at the restaurant really took the time or made an effort to ensure that online ordering to be more effective… I ordered my meal and I received a confirmation that the restaurant has receive/processed my order– the meals would be ready to pick up at 7:15/7:25– I got there around 7:20. Nobody was at the hostess stand– I waited for several minutes then saw two employees(one of them was the regular hostess that I have seen in the past)– they were just chatting with each other, checking their personal phone– I waved to them to receive an assist– they both just walked away into the kitchen and I waited for another 10 minutes– during those times; I must have seen maybe two or three waiters going by– not even one of them asked if I need any help. Finally after waiting for so long– one of the hostess finally came out and I explained to her that I was there to pick up my orders– showed her the confirmation etc– she acknowledged it then went back to receive my order. After a while– she came back and explained to me that one of my order wasn’t available and they had to make minor changes(which I was okay with)– then she went back… After a while– the hostess came back and explained to me that another thing wasn’t available– more minor changes to be done. At this point, I was already a little rattled because I had to wait longer– and the restaurant DID have my text number to contact me if something need to be adjusted etc. I finally realized that they were actually starting to prep and cook my entire orders while I was there– I end up receiving my orders and left the restaurant at 8:15. Almost an hour after I got there– what should have been five minutes to pick up the meal became an hour of waiting in the lobby– nobody even offered an apology or some kind of hospitality service… Having an experience in the restaurant industry– if a customer has to wait longer than expected– a refreshment would have been nice/sign of respect and appreciation for the customer’s business.(I paid just over $ 100 for this order) Just as I was about to leave– the hostess gave me a menu and informed me that menu that I ordered from online was old— guess what… Clam Casino was available as an appetizer on the old menu while on the new menu– it was offered as a PIZZA… Maybe it was something that the restaurant should have thought after my second order/me inquiring why it was pizza instead of appetizer. I would say that the foods are decent– but my experience of picking up foods/the restaurant’s accountability of maintaining their online order/menu has been below my expectations.

I went here for their happy hour & wasn’t disappointed with the food. I arrived between 5 – 5:15p on a Thursday &1 out of the 8 bar chairs was available. The bar area is small so the 2 of us shared a table with another couple. Getting a menu was somewhat difficult since there was a party going on in the small banquet room. However, once we did get the attention of a waiter he was attentive. Between the 2 of us, we had the mussels, meatballs, sweet chili boneless wings, tacos, pork sliders & pasta. All were great size portions. You get about 15 mussels, 5 wings(long & thin). The sliders had ample meat & coleslaw. I believe the meatballs were the Italian kind, not the ground beef. The pasta is served on a long saucer dish but it’s still a good amount. The food was hot & well seasoned. However, the soft tortilla for the taco wasn’t warmed up so there’s a odd texture & the meat wasn’t crispy as described on the menu, but still tasty. I would definitely come here again, especially because they have 10 food options for happy hour while the Vito’s Park only has 6. Towards 6p, more tables were available. Happy Hour is from 4−7p & they have $ 1 oysters everyday.

My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner here with a group of about 30. We had two great servers who assisted us on the patio for cocktails and during our plated meal in a private room. The bar was obviously short staffed, so service for drinks was a little slow, as there was another private event and a packed dining room. Our servers were attentive and friendly. We are local to Windsor and often frequent the happy hour or bar for appetizers and great pizza. Overall great experience and would recommend for private events in the future.

I had the trout and it was quite good, served with lentils and eggplant caponata(of which my first bite was cold). Service here in the bar was attentive and quick. I’ll definitely return and recommend it if you’re in the area.

Be sure to call ahead. I arrived at 7:15 p on a Wednesday and was told«we only have seating at the bar and we are only serving pizza due to the number of large parties we have.» I’ve never heard of such a thing. I doubt I’ll be back. If I do I’m calling ahead.

Midrange itialian restaurant. food is pretty good, pizza to entries. Small inside bar area with a larger outside bar/patio for when the weather is nice. Does offer take out. Nice view in the dining room with the pond that runs between the buildings of the office park behind the restaurant. Convenient for the folks who work in those buildings so gets pretty busy during the 5 o’clock hour.

I went here for dinner the other day. I ordered the chicken marsala, the chicken was extremely dry and the flavor wasn’t very good. The service was decent however, I overheard a worker talking about a person who came in for an interview and she said that he had Tourette syndrome and that she told him to leave and decided not to interview him. This encounter repulsed me because I’m pretty sure that’s discrimination and a good way to start a lawsuit especially talking about it in the open. I asked my waitress(who I won’t name) what the name was of the person I heard saying that. She said«that’s Ally, she’s one of my managers and also the owners daughter» because of this I will never returning to this place and I will make sure that I tell everyone I know in Windsor to not touch this place. A business is no place for discrimination.

«Good, not great» describes this restaurant. The food is good, not great. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi and it was decent. The service was good, not great. The server was friendly and knew a lot about the menu which was helpful. They accommodated our large party very well. Also, the restaurant is right on a river so it has a cool view through the windows. I gave this restaurant a 4 star rating and not a 3 star rating because they gave me a free dessert for a positive review on Unilocal. It’s not as if they didn’t deserve the good rating. It wasn’t bad. It was just good, not great.

Normally, one bad experience at a restaurant doesn’t leave me feeling compelled to write a review however, this was particularly bad :) The staff was very friendly but amazingly neglectful. It was like we were playing intermittent games of hide and seek and losing to them every time! At one point I tried to flag down the bartender so we could get someone to deliver our check but he saw me coming and seemed to suddenly remember that he needed to be in another room. I really wish I could say this is all an exaggeration for humorous effect… but I can’t :( The food quality was somewhere between mediocre and subpar which was surprising given how long it took to prepare :) The silver lining was the unexpected guest that joined us at the end of our meal, shown in the accompanying picture. He introduced himself as «Marty McFly»

Never going here ever again… worst experience ever. We had our wedding here, they didn’t hold up to wat they said we were getting in our contract, rushed us out after our time was up rather than allowing us extra time as they said would be available previously because they booked an event directly after ours… then proceeded to hound us for the remaining bill that night our wedding night!!! Rather then allowing us to come back the remaining day to settle up, since we didn’t have our wallets, instead we had to have family member pay… extremely embarrassed and upset at how they handled this transaction. This was the worst experience ever, DONOT book your events here!!! You will regret it!

Eaten here many times. At our last visit, it was a Sunday evening at about 5:30pm. We asked to sit outside and were told it would take at least 15 minutes. There was hardly anyone eating in the restaurant and only one table had anyone seated outside. I have no idea what took them so long to place two plates and some silverware on a table outside. It took forever for our server to take our order, bring our drinks and our food. To top it off, two dining room patrons came outside to smoke. Disghusting. We sat outside to get some fresh air not breathe in someone else’s cancer stick. There should be no smoking in the outside dining area.

Sitting here now lights up early to clean and vacuum is loud. Food was bland bartender clearly didn’t care we were here. We don’t live far and come once in a great while and always remember why we don’t come. Glad the nice waiter realized we were ready to leave and cashed out our check

I lived about 15 mins away from this restaurant so we decided to stop by after years of driving by here. So last year we decided to eat here. I honestly don’t remember what it was that i ordered but everyones meal tasted horrible. Very good and pretty look though !

Came here for lunch and was able to sit on the patio. The pesto chicken pizza had a lot of toppings, but I found it a little too greasy for myself. Nonetheless, the large size among 4 people was perfect. Service was a bit slow, so this might be good for a very leisurely lunch opportunity. Our waiter was very nice. Take-out area has a small discount for Cigna employees with ID.
