Another great happy hour dinner. Try the Osso Bucco. It’s to die for! We also had the grilled chicken pizza, burger sliders and the burnt endz. All amazing!

My personal trainer(of all people) recommended this restaurant for dinner. I cannot thank him enough. From the house-made aoli which accompanied the bread, the caprese salad, sausage rapini and tenderloin cooked perfectly, this is now my favorite restaurant! I haven’t even mentioned the wonderful staff and dessert. With polished casual ambiance, I could eat here daily. Wait… then I would have to continue going to my trainer forever. Now I know why he recommended this place. Clever. Very clever.

Having so many restaurants to choose from in West Hartford, we wouldn’t normally think to try a place in Bloomfield, but as we’ve visited Carbone’s in Hartford on multiple occasions, we thought it was a perfect stop tonight as we were«in the area». This place DIDNOT disappoint! Service at the bar was great, and the food was outstanding. We had the chicken parm and the scallops and risotto — we also tried a bite of each of the cookies on the cookie plate — all worth a 5 star review — we will make the trip again for sure!

After watching the Godfather on a lazy Sunday, Italian food was a must for dinner! Looking for something a little different than our usual West Hartford choices, we went to Carbone’s. First note: get the garlic ciabatta bread, people! It wa crispy and not too cheesy. The beer and wine choices were aplenty and it was nice to have some Avery’s soda options for my son. My husband went with the traditional Linguini and Meatballs. Pasta, sauce and meatballs were delicious. The meatballs were giant! I hemmed and hawed on whether to get a salad with scallops or a simply grilled salmon, but in the end I decided on the Chicken Passaro. This was the right choice and gluten free! The white balsamic reduction tasted very much like a marsala sauce to me. It was so delicious! The sauce had dried cherries, cranberries, port. They easily accommodated my request to replace polenta with the roasted sweet potato. And they do offer a kids menu so that they can have smaller portions of pasta for about half the price(chicken or pizza also available). Speaking of pizza, the table next to us ordered one and it looked so good. Thin, crispy, a little burnt on the edge. We will be back to try it! On the disappointing side, nobody told us the bottles of wine are half price on Sundays. I was just on their website and found out! The waiter should have shared that, especially considering I ordered 2 glasses. I could have had a bottle for that price and taken the rest home.

Went here for lunch after leaving Republic(bad service and super over-priced). I was greeted with a smile and warm service from reception. Our waitress Kim was very professional and really friendly, she made the experience great. The food is pretty good and the prices are bad, but if you want to go somewhere and get VIP treatment, this is the spot. Cozy, comfortable, upscale dining with a relaxing atmosphere will make you a believer. I see this as the perfect spot for a drink and some apps.

Had the chicken with prosciutto as a main dish and it was superb and for my appetizer I had the burnt ends and they were sick, honestly best part of the meal. For my dinner I had the chicken with prosciutto and it was really good. We made reservations and our table was ready on time. The place was clean and orderly and the waitstaff was friendly and attentive. The crowd I was with all liked their entrees and appys too.

Pros: Went for lunch and the food was very good food and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Service was prompt and cocktails delivered in a timely fashion. Reasonably priced and a very nice menu. Excellent scallops and their calamari is outstanding. Cons: We never were offered the bread and dip. We sat in a half-round booth and the waiter, rather than walk around 2 chairs just reached over and in front of us when placing food on the table. I wanted to bite that arm after about the third time, lol. That’s a pet peve of mine but others were annoyed as well and one couple were restaurant owners. All in all, a good experience and we look forward to going back.

Excellent little Italian place in Bloomfield. The waitstaff was friendly and the manager even took the time to stop by our table and ask how everything was. The prices were also very good. I had the chicken parmesan with pasta. The marinara sauce was excellent and the chicken was moist, tender and very good. The pasta was also great. The portions were very generous.

Recent Return #2: Worthy update to the following review to confirm EXCELLENT&CONSISTENT*****Review #1 Returned after a hiatus. Glad as it’s back on the radar. Service(Craig) was outstanding. The front room staff was excellent. Food was very good as always and I noticed an increase in portion size that is appealing. I wish the menu was a bit broader, but I am both thumbs up… excellent and will return soon.

Risotto ball appetizer was scrumptious. Use the crusty bread to soak up the sauce. Menu has variety of options and the food was delicious. Cap off your meal w the chocolate flourless cake. Service was attentive. I’ll be back!

A worthy find in of all places Bloomfield Connecticut. I had the seafood Fra Diavlo and my wife had chicken parm both delicious! The wine list is extensive and if you hit a special from the bar you can find a great well priced bottle. The fried eggplant fries shouldn’t be missed.

Really liked my visit to Carbone’s kitchen. For appetizers we got a little calamari — nice crispy and good No complaints on my martini, a little dirty The garlic bread was a favorite. Just cheese, garlic, and a Mariana sauce to die for. My main meal was a fish dish(Scallops, shrimp, and pasta). Everything in the dish was both delicious and fresh tasting. Due to being a small work event we had a small room in the back. It was great and I could see it being nice for other events such as birthday parties. For being in downtown Bloomfield, it had a the feel of a nice Italian restaurant. Like the«real» version of Maggianos.. .that same feel with the wood, the service, etc. I would definitly recomenned if your in the area, and want some decent italian food.

I love Italian food and this didn’t disappoint. We had 7 in our party and showed up without a reservation. We waited less than 10 minutes for a table. Since we had kids we placed their order first before settling on drinks. Fresh hot bread and sun dried tomato pesto delivered to table — yummmmmm. Nice by the glass wine selection Kids meals delivered within 10 minutes Everyone ordered something different so there was lots to share. Generous portions — had leftovers for dinner the next day This may become my go to neighborhood spot for dinner.

My husband took me out for Birthday dinner. We originally wanted to try the ‘real’ carbones in Hartford. But after being heard that its same menu with much affordable price at Carbone’s Kitchen, we decided to give it a try at this place first. We ordered Arancini for appetizer. I couldnt pass on this since Arancini is my favorite Italian appetizer. It was delicately presented, and taste was great as their presentation. My entrée was their signature Carbonara, and it was the best carbonara I’ve ever had so far. It was not cheesy or greasy, nor too creamy. Very tasty! My husband had chicken parm, and it was delicious as well! We are def going back to venture more of their menu :)

Matthew and I came here for a celebratory date night dinner. I was here a few months ago for a Unilocal event and really appreciated the ambiance and quality of the food we sampled so I made a reservation via open table. The host(who was not friendly at all) sat us at a very awkward table by the door, even though there were plenty of booths and other tables available – I was kind of put off by that but we made the best of it. Nice warm bread came out to start with a unique dipping oil. For our entrees, I had the pasta bolognese, which was delightful with fresh ricotta on top. Matthew had the traditional linguine and meatballs – 2 huge meatballs adorned his plate. We were both happy with our choices and couldn’t finish our plates. With the Unilocal check in, they give you a plate of cookies and they are so worth it-light, buttery Italian cookies. The only way it could be better is if they gave you the recipes too! Overall, it was a nice dinner, service was attentive and we’d come back, but maybe just for lunch next time.

Tonight we stopped in for a quick late Sunday dinner. We sampled three starters: Eggplant Fries, Calamari & the Cesar salad. The Eggplant fries were perfectly cooked, crisp & golden brown. The calamari was fresh & delicious however we missed having tentacles as we were only served the rings, rather disappointing. Also we ordered the small but we were given the large(I think our server didn’t understand us & I should of clarified). The Cesar as always was just perfect. For dinner we split a meatball hero, the meatballs were tender, flavorful & literally melt in my mouth. I could of done without the fries too heavy of a side & not fresh cut. Overall great quick dinner!

House made sausage, house made rigatoni pasta with fresh spinach, a verity of fresh mushrooms in a tomato cream sauce followed by a glass of Fattoria Foltognano Chianti are you kidding me of course it was good, damn good! I attended a Gnocchi making Unilocal event at the restaurant some months ago and was completely impressed with the flavor and quality of the appetizers that were served that evening and vowed I would return. As I write this, I am contemplating my next visit which might very well be this Sunday to experience there three course $ 23.95 pasta special assuming they will be open on Memorial Day.

I love Carbone’s Kitchen! This is pretty close to my work, so we do a lot of happy hours and lunches here. I have also been for restaurant week(amazing three-course menu). Their prices are reasonable — especially for happy hour in the bar area(½ priced menu). They have very delicious and authentic Italian food. Hands down — they have the best Caesar salad in the area. Their garlic Caesar dressing is on point. I’d suggest asking for it with cheese on the side because sometimes they overload it. The staff is always pleasant and funny and I’ve never had a slow experience — even when we go with large parties. Even during the busy lunch and dinner rush, everything comes out quickly and hot. They clearly have their act together. The ONLY bad experience I have ever had here was one time with a large party. We brought about 25 – 30 people and had a section of the bar roped off for our event. We were all paying separately for our individual tabs of food and appetizers(we alerted the manager of this when making our reservation). On our way out, I thanked the manager for their service and for blocking off that area for us. He said«I don’t like when [our company name] comes like this because your people don’t tip». I thought that was very rude and it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. I had personally tipped over 20%(because I know the apps are ½ priced during the happy hour special) and there was no reason for him to say that to me. While I’ll continue to go there on dates or with a friend or two, I won’t be bringing large parties there like that again. Overall — great place except for my one bad experience with the manager.

Carbone’s Kitchen was good, but nothing really special, as my family and I tried this establishment for the first time recently for lunch. The menu is very limited to very Italian meals(yes, I’m aware it’s an Italian restaurant, but a wider range to offer a few more choices to patrons would be nice). There are few options to select from, including pasta, pasta, carbonara, and salads. The food was good, prepared well, but nothing noteable or something to drive home about. The prices were reasonable, the meals were average in size. The service – also something that was nothing to drive home about. Our main server was snippy and seemed like she felt obligated to wait on us. She was slightly rude, too. The other server that filled our waters and did little tasks was none too friendly either. I don’t think my family and I will be back to Carbone’s Kitchen anytime soon after our first dining experience here.
