Really cute bar tender with black hair and beard named Zack. Didn’t quite pick up in my hints but gave me a wink on the way out. I think he was into some kinky shit because he asked me for jumper cables. Great drinks.

Stopped here to get some lunch. The bathrooms were disgusting with unflushed toilets, a used plunger lying on the floor, toilet paper all over the floor. If the toilets were that dirty one hour after opening, it means they never cleaned them the night before. The carpeted stairs had years of caked on dirt on them. They have never been cleaned. I would hate to see what the kitchen and food prep area looks like of that is how they care for their bathroom and flooring. Waiter was very nice and attentive but forgot to order my entrée so I did not eat while the rest of my table did. He offered to have the kitchen make it but we had to get back on the road so I shared with others at my table. * Management was very nice when I contacted them with my concerns, and offered to make it up to us on our next visit.

We eat at this restaurant 2 to 3 times per week and have for years. Memorial Day Weekend I ordered my usual pizza for dinner. It was the only thing of substance we ate that day. At 3 am my entire family was sick. We knew it was the cheese from the pizza due to the odd taste. I called four times to just let them know what had happened. Not one person cared enough to call back. I will never eat at Bertuccis in West Hartford again. If that is how they treat loyal customers forget it. A call back apologizing or even just acknowledging we called would have been professional. Horrible Management.

So if you want an arrogant manager, overdone food with raw rolls, not to forget cold sauce with your calzone, then this is your place. Not a good night at what should be a quick meal.

Food is ok. But the drinks are really really small if you get something on the rocks. Kinda a rip off

Came in for lunch one day and it was delicious! My lunch date was a 2 year old child I babysit for and they accommodated him with some bread and a drink right away. The Waiter let me pay the bill before we were done eating in case we needed to make a quick getaway. Lunch was great — I got a small pizza that came with salad and rolls. Rolls are amazing! Something about warm bread and fresh salad. The small pizza was a small pizza, I could have easily eaten the whole thing but didn’t want to consume so much in one sitting! Place was clean, service was quick, food was great — I would go back again!

My car battery died in their parking lot, so while I was waiting for AAA, I took cover from the snow and whipping winds with a beer in Bertucci’s bar. And you know what? It was a warm, cozy, friendly little place. The manager even offered to let me use her AAA card if I needed it… now THAT’S service. It was so enjoyable, I was almost a little bummed when the AAA guy called and said he was outside with my car. This place has been in Bishop’s Corner for a while, and there’s a reason for that… it’s well-run and you can count on them for a good experience.

The quality of the food, you can determine from the reviews below. This review is about service. My mother placed a catering order for 8 chicken piccata and noodles and ½ salads last night. The order taker said the order would be ready at 615 Sunday. We went to pick it up and there was no record whatsoever of a catering order with our name or phone number. This was an excellent opportunity for the cashier and the manager to provide great service and they tried and fell short. They started off with disbelief and adversarial position that the order was even placed at all, all the while refusing to acknowledge or recognize who it might have been who took our order. We gave a description of the person and a timeframe. They did have a replacement order ready within fifteen minutes, and they discounted it twenty percent, which I agreed to because my mother told me to, not because I trust the service or the kitchen. The feeling I had from bertuccis refusing to take responsibility for the mistake is augmented by that we should have known to expect this from forgotten orders and long wait times in the past. I’m a business person and the first thing I do when there is a problem is assess a situation to see whether I can take responsibility for the mistake. Then I make it clear to all involved why it happened and explore how it can be prevented in the future. The manager in this case worked quickly to create a new order but failed to take responsibility that it happened. I think the discount was not enough to compensate for not believing us.

We had a great meal at Bertuccis West Hartford. It smells amazing when you walk in the door. The hostess was friendly and there was no wait. We ordered a Pumpkin Pie Martini and the bartender forgot to put the Graham’s cracker crumbs in the edge and was glad to make us a new one without any problem. Their fresh bread and dipping oil was great while we waited for our meal. The good came out quickly and was very enjoyable. I especially liked my Chicken Domani made with sautéed chicken, white wine, spinach, sage and topped with Asiago cheese

Ice cream pizza and bocce The first Bertucci’s opened in 1981 when ice cream shop owner Joey Crugnate decided to try his luck at pizza making after being inspired by his Grandmother’s kitchen in Italy. The very first Bertucci’s was opened in Somerville, MA and even had a bocce court in the basement. But the main feature wasn’t bocce but a authentic brick oven. The restaurant chain spread through the east coast and now there are over 90 of them and new ones seem to be opening all the time. Every Bertucci’s seems to be different and I guess that is part of the appeal. Where most chain restaurants strive for consistency, Bertucci’s seems to emphasize the difference between the restaurants. This particular one is plainer and more business like than other Bertucci’s I have been in. None of the pseudo Italian décor or weird Italian music, this restaurant is more to the point of eating. The service here is always very pleasant and quick and the food is good. Bertucci’s isn’t great Italian food but any means, but it’s cheap and tasty and makes for a nice, quick and convenient place that seems to be a nice compromise between a real crappy fast food restaurant and a more traditional Italian restaurant. Too bad they don’t still have the bocce courts.

Although this is a chain restaurant, I have to say that this particular Bertucci’s is severely lacking in customer service compared to all others I’ve frequented. Order delivery, and the driver NOR the operator will tell you that a tip is included. They print it on the second page of the receipt, which is very easy to miss especially when ordering at night. I mean, come on, how many people analyze a receipt with the delivery driver standing right in front of then, waiting to leaves, so it’s very easy to unknowingly tip the driver twice. One of the managers, Robert, is inefficient and argumentative as well. On more than one occasion, the operator who took my call messed up the order. Both times, I brought it up to Robert, and he argued both times, claiming it was my fault, as if I’m more likely to make a mistake than is an operator who is fielding tons of orders in a noisy restaurant, also he refused to compensate me or give me a credit. Although I did give this place a lot of tries because it’s nearby, I will take my business to a place that seemingly factors in competence when hiring staff.

We dined here during the holidays, it was great. We returned for my fiancée’s birthday on Monday, and ordered nearly the exact same thing. 1. Tables/walls/booth were dirty. 2. Food seemed thrown together, fiancée got the wrong entrée. 3. Service was mostly non-existent, but when it did exist, I felt like I was bothering the server. She just slowed down by our table, never actually stopped. I really regret that I just didn’t turn around and walk out when I got there. Never going back.

If this location had been my first experience of Bertucci’s, it would have been my last. The food was mostly ok, but the service was truly terrible. The server appeared to be going out of his way to ignore us, walked away as we were placing our order, getting our order wrong, and never smiling except in a creepy robotic way as he delivered our check. No apology for it taking 20 minutes to order and another 40 minutes to bring two lunch entrees. The rolls were cold, my entrée was lukewarm and wrong, and the restaurant was 80% empty so there’s absolutely no excuse for any of this. On the positive side, my wife’s entrée was tasty(and matched what she ordered). And the restaurant was clean.

I really wanted to like this place. I live very close. They offer raw pizza dough to little kids to play with, and warn parents that the kids can get sick from ingesting. Really bad idea. They offer unlimited salad and soup. They give you a very small(kid sized) plate of salad when appetizers are served around the table and a bowl of soup when meals are served around the table. However, don’t bother asking for seconds. You wont get any. Instead, you sit there, annoyed. The waitress will ask if you want seconds, several times, but not deliver. When the table is being cleared, they’ll ask if you had enough. I’ve been there twice and had the same experience. I know how it sounds cliché, someone complaining about not getting enough from an unlimited order. However, they simply don’t deliver here, even on a limited basis. It seemed to me that, with the soup/salad option, they were trying to compete with the Olive Garden or other places with salad bars – but they fall far short. Either the mgt is telling the staff to hold off on these servings, or the staff is poor. I’m not sure. Upon reading other reviews, it seems that a lack of food delivery(that is, actually getting food to the table) is common for this place. They can take the food order, but they fall short on delivering the food. To me, it sounds like mgt issues. I will have to avoid this place. I thought of giving this place two stars, but since so many people have the common complaint, I had to give it one star.

I used to love taking my family here but the last time we went in we had to wait a long time to be seated even though there were plenty of tables that were cleaned and ready to be seated. When we finally were seated and the pizza we ordered was delivered it was so black on the bottom and burnt tasting that it was ridiculous. When I mentioned it our waitress she told me that pizzas cooked in a brick oven were always like that. Done, thank you very much

When your pizza oven is broken and you’re a pizza restaurant, you’re kind of in trouble. That said, friendly service and good wings. But you should at least put a sign up that the oven is not working!

The good: –Rolls are always great, both with butter and oil. –appetizers, including roasted vegetables and meatballs with sauce were tasty and a decent value. –waitress was quick with drink refills The bad/disgusting: –The quick version is there was a foreign hair in my chicken marsala. Our waitress apologized and said a new one would arrive soon. My girlfriend finished her panini(which was good) before another one of my dishes was brought out. My food was not taken off the bill, which I thought was a bad showing from the manager or waitress. My attempts to contact the manager were unsuccessful or I would have included such an interaction in my review. I have always been a Bertucci’s fan, but I would never go back to this one.

A long time ago, in a Bertucci’s far far away… I worked here and it was actually how I really got started in the food and beverage industry back when I was in high school. All I did at that time was bust my hump bussing lazy waitresses tables though to be fair at that time this Bertucci’s was more of a combination of a circus and«up-scale» dining destination for people who otherwise lived more frugally shall we say. So in the waitresses defense they probably were just overwhelmed however I was more than happy to prove my merit. Any other time I had I would snag a slice of pizza if the kitchen had made a mistake but usually I just spent the hours walking around and around and around. Regardless I had fond memories of Bertucci’s as a kid growing up my family was for sure a small contributor to the«circus» feeling of the place what with crayons and sticky/crusted-over pieces of dough flying every which way. I like to think that since about 2000 Bertucci’s has moved from adolescence on up to it’s early-20’s or something like that(figuratively speaking of course.) With that I think that the food has improved but this particular Bertucci’s will always hold a special place in my heart! Hopefully it hasn’t seen too much change though they’ve certainly remodled it at least once if not twice for sure since the days when I worked there in 2000.

My review is based solely on the takeout service… My advice is only get Bertucci’s when you order online for lunch takeout. That’s all. What’s awesome about their online order system is that first time customers get $ 10 off a $ 20 or more purchase. I have gotten that promo deal many times because I have created different accounts under each of my e-mails. ;) Bertucci’s has a lunch sandwich specials; sandwich with a side salad and a bowl of soup. The Pollo Parma is a standout! What I do is purchased two lunch specials and a bottle of Pellegrino mineral water at one time. I eat a meal one day and the other the next day. For $ 10.67, I get two hearty lunches, a bunch of their sourdough rolls, and a Pellegrino water. The price is cheap in the world of takeout lunch in West Hartford. And my food has always been ready for pick-up when I arrive to the restaurant. And if I am really lucky, I am greeted with a smile. I’ve been to that location a couple times for dine-in, though it has been years. I remember the service being slow and a slow day. I don’t recommend eating there.

We went to Bertuccis thinking it would be a good place to go with the kids. And for that, it was good. Plain pasta, and Hoodsie cups for dessert. But you can get plain pasta anywhere, and you can get ice cream pretty much anywhere. What they had to offer us «grown ups» was also very average. I had a baked tortelini that was just boring and tasted like cream soup. Ewww.
