If you are in Windsor you can’t go wrong with lunch or dinner! Great wait staff, warm and friendly, make you feel like you are home among friends and family. Friendly banter with Rob The Chef from the open kitchen. Great menu that changes seasonally! Made from scratch just like Mom makes!

Always happy with my dinner here. They have different specials each evening. Their salad is excellent with really yummy homemade croutons. This time I had the eggplant and my husband had the chicken francaise. Both were delicious. The dishes were well presented. The wait staff has always been attentive. They have a lot of menu items including sandwiches, pizza and many entrees.

Have tried a few varieties and found they make a great pizza — do takeout at least every other week. Went in to eat and had a different experience. Two of us ordered a pasta dish and both of us did not eat it. Mine came with a large helping of this overcooked blob of pasta. I don’t know how they could have served pasta so overcooked except it was a late dinner and I think they wanted to get us out of there as quick as possible(and did not want to remake it). My husband said his just did not taste good. My sister had fish and said it was OK but salad was really good. All I can really recommend is the pizza, and it is very good — try the BBQ chicken pizza. Also they seem to use a unique cheese that has a bit of snap to it when it has cooled a bit, which we love.

Pleasantly surprised. The place looks a little rough around the edges, but the food was great! Cold beer, fresh salad, friendly staff. The chef came out and talked to us and clearly takes pride in his food… that’s all that matters to me. 5 stars for good food and service!

Pleasantly surprised with my dinner. Straight forward chicken parm, salad and a couple glasses of the house cab. In a plaza about a step up from a pizza shop… but staff is super friendly and my dinner was very good. Reasonably priced dinner for 1(biz traveler) with salad bread and 2 wines was $ 25 + tip. Will return next trip to CT.

Service is friendly but the food is nothing to write home about. We ordered a medley of dishes for the family. While it was good, it was basic fare — two types of pasta, pizza slice, sandwich. The calamari was good although the sauce tasted like a bottle of marinara from the store.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. I have been here about ten times for dinner and have tried a different plate every time. Tonight I had the stuffed pepper as a part of their $ 10 special(came with a salad and blondie brownie with gelato). If your looking for killer ambiance I would probably look elsewhere. However, if you want friendly service and seriously well prepared Italian food made with quality ingredients come here. I will continue to be a repeat customer.

Zocco’s is one of our go-to restaurants. A family restaurant nice enough for date night. Terrific menu with fresh twists on traditional fare. We love the seasonal changes to the menu. Wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and treat everyone like a regular. Our faves have included the eggplant torte, chicken franchise, and just about any of the specials. Gluten free and dairy free options available.

Our waitress, Roxanne, was awesome and everything we had was phenomenal. The house salads were large and not just lettuce, but a mix of great veggies Their version of lasagna with homemade noodles was melt in your mouth good with the noodles being just the right texture. My friend had an eggplant dish that was heaven. We needed dessert to go and Roxanne recommended the donuts and they were exquisite too and it was a ton of food for the money. The only downside, the house bread was just so-so, but otherwise, this was a perfect little strip mall find. You would never know the food was so good, form the outside.

Just moved to Windsor. Found this restaurant on the igottaeat site. I place an order online 55 min ago. They said delivery would be within 60 minutes(through the 3rd party delivery site). I get a call 10 min ago that one of the items I ordered off their menu is no longer offered. I give a different selection. Just got another call saying they’re all out of that one. Just canceled the whole order. So completely disgusted by the lack of service and convenience. I’ll never use that site or try to order from this establishment ever again.

Went for lunch yesterday with coworkers. Service was friendly and quick. The food itself was good but not great. As it was lent I was limited to one of their 2 fish dishes(didnt want salad). I got salmon di silva i think they called it and it was rather small but tasty piece of salmon with braised broccoli(which was too hard and tasted like beer?) and raw spinach cut in chiffon ribbons(no dressing). 2 pieces of some sort of garlic tasting bread to accompany it. Again it all tasted fine but nothing to write home about and left me wanting a little more. Id be willing to try one of their meat paninis/sandwiches another time.

The food here is delicious– We have ordered weekly for about 6 weeks and have never been disappointed by any of the selections– ranging from Shepard’s pie to sole to manicotti– they have all been equally delicious. The people are so nice, customer service is fantastic– just a great neighborhood restaurant that we are lucky to have in our community.

I have been to Zocco’s multiple times leading out to my wedding in July. The food here is FANTASTIC! They consistently product fresh new meals and the flavor is incredible. They catered our wedding and everyone of guests raved about the food and plan on going to Zocco’s. We are also planning a return trip with our bridal party because the food is that good! You will not be disappointed, let Uncle Bob fix you up a dish of your fav food, and enjoy a cold beer while you eat!

I wish I could love this place. The wait staff is delightfully friendly. Unfortunately, despite being«made to order from scratch» the food just isn’t all that good or worth the excruciatingly long wait on a Saturday evening at 6. Our party of 7 was seated promptly at our reserved time. Although some of us were given menus, some of us were not. The excuse that«we’re really busy» is dumb. How many seats do you have in the restaurant = approximately how many menus to have on hand when the menus are not all that expensive. Appetizers of calamari, fried cheese and baked mushrooms eventually made their way to the table. It seems the cheese went over well. Although the mushrooms with eggplant meatballs were good, they just weren’t all that great. The calamari was pretty awful. Finding the actual squid in the mass of greasy breading was the first trick. Next came chewing the very overdone rubber bands; no hint of squid bodies, bands only. Finally, the thimble full tomato sauce with banana peppers was remarkable only for its wateriness and lack of flavor. If it had any flavor — which it didn’t — we would have needed more. The long wait for dinner continued. Out came our salads. These salads were truly awesome. Big, and bedecked with big chewy chunks of fresh bread, black olives, cheese and diced yam. And their balsamic vinaigrette was flavorful. It’s a shame that what came before and what came after couldn’t hold a candle to the salad. The long wait for our entrees continued. We filled ourselves with fresh warm bread served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The bread was quite good, but man does not live by bread alone. And the wait continued. The main course was the evening special: Chicken and Crab Carbonara. The chicken was moist and tender, and plentiful. The crab? There were hints of crab flecked throughout the dish. Had I named this dish it would have been Chicken with a crabmeat garnished Carbonara sauce. I expected a few chunks of crabmeat. No such luck. The dish itself was lacking in any kind of seasoning. It just felt flat. I hosed it down with some parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes to bring out some kind of flavor. In general, others ate their meal as I did; without complaints but also without one single person saying«Ooh, you gotta taste this.» Maybe I’d try the place again at lunch, and have one of their salad options. The people there are so nice. But, nice doesn’t make up for a ho hum three hour meal.

Let me make this short. I work nearby and on occasion we head here for a celebratory lunch. I had the spicy meatball sliders(appetizer) as my meal. They were good except the description mentions that they’re in BBQ sauce(I was intrigued) with cheddar BUT lurking under the buns was some roasted red peppers. Had I known they’d be there I would’ve requested that they be removed. Meat? Good! BBQ sauce? Good! Cheddar? Good! Peppers, not so much(at least not for me). Oh! and the server was pleasant and rolled with the sass of our large bunch.

(This review is for lunch only) I’ve seen a lot of good reviews for dinner. But I had lunch here today, and was not overly impressed. The interior is nicely furnished and the service was friendly, and prompt — all pretty good. I ordered a Grilled Chicken Fasani(panini) with Spinach, provolone, roasted peppers an tomato pesto. It was $ 7. It was also very luke warm. It took quite a while for the food to come out, and I had visions of this once hot steaming panini neglectfully languishing away on a counter before being reduced to room temperature and making the final leg of it’s journey to my table. It was served with a ½ ounce bag of Cape Cod chips. Have you ever seen what a ½ ounce of chips looks like? You spill more than that when you open a normal sized bag. I’m sure that having dinner here is a better experience than the lunch I had here today. I would settle for the next lunch I have here being better than today’s less than stellar experience.

I have been to Zocco’s a handful of times — it’s kind of hidden within a strip mall on Day Hill Road. I usually have the pizza when I come so I am mostly going to review that. The pizza is pretty okay. I’ve definitely had better pizza(woodfired and whatnot), but it’s pretty good for Windsor, CT. They put on an abundance of toppings which is awesome. I’ve heard great things about the pasta dishes, but since I’ve never had them, I can’t comment. I continue to come back to Zocco’s because it’s a hometown restaurant, it gets a solid 3.5÷5.

I don’t give 5 stars to any place that has just good food or service. Zocco’s deserves each star I have given. Situated in a small strip mall that only has two ways in and one way out, my wife and I tried Zocco’s for dinner about 8 years ago. We went back two more times that week, and have probably averaged more than two visits a month since then. What brings us here, when there are at least five decent Italian places closer? Two things… the food, and the service. If you are in a hurry, please don’t waste your energy trying to get in and out of this place in an hour. Quite the contrary, one of my pet restaurant peeves is poor, mis-timed service, especially when they shove the next course in your face while you’re trying to enjoy an appetizer or salad. This has never happened to us at Zocco’s. The tenet of the kitchen is that everything is made from scratch, and the wait can be «significant,» especially when compared to other places that prep several items ahead of time, and just heat them up. It is such a pleasure to sit, relax with a fine glass of wine, or micro-brewed IPA, and take our sweet time as we eat, knowing there will always be time before the next course arrives. Now, to the food itself. We have our favorites, but have also tried many different specials and seasonal favorites(their core menu remains the same, but they also have full seasonal menus, specializing in European, regional and local food trends) So far, we have never had any meal that has been less than wonderful. For starters, the fried calamari is one of the best we’ve had, and comes with a small cup of marinara sauce, and Habanero-infused oil. Deep-fried Provolone is also a great choice. Their house salad is an exciting, creative montage of baby greens, pepperoncinis, and other additions that change from time to time, even diced sweet potatoes… and comes with an small wedge of grilled pizza dough. The main courses are so very much waiting for. I would highlight one or two, but as I have said, nothing here has been short of great. Just order your fave, or try something you’ve never had. You won’t go wrong. Oh… if they have rissotto on the menu, DO get a side order. It is amazing! I’ve heard their pizza is quite good as well, and judging by an endless procession of pick-up customers, I guess it is. If you still have room(and time) for dessert, the mini-donuts are fun, but the Limoncello cake will certainly have you driving home with a huge smile! Bravo Zoccos… don’t ever change!
