Great independent book store. They have both used and new books. You can also order a glass of wine. The person behind the counter was friendly but not obtrusive. They also have a nice selection of local products. One feature they had was blind date with a book. There were wrapped up books with a short description. I thought this was an original and fun idea. I would check this store out if you love books.

A terrific little book and wine (and a little of everything) shop! I visited recently when a friend and I were meandering aimless, bored, downtown and I loved it! I’ve only been once, but I definitely want to go back and get a better feel for all they have.
It seems like a great place to get a gift for someone – maybe a book, if you know a reader, or perhaps a wine. I’ve posted some pictures to give you a feel for the place.

Barnhill’s is the perfect place to pick up a hostess gift for your girlfriend’s mom, your neighbor down the street or Aunt Petunia. A wide selection of local artists’ work, books written by regional and local authors and wine await you.
Occasionally, authors have book signings and readings at the store.

Awesome place! Nice place to taste a lot of NC Wines for less than you pay for a tasting at any of the local vineyards… The tasting is $ 5 and we generally get to taste 10 – 20 different wines, and then get a glass of our favorite one…
What I love about this place is you are almost buying «Double Local» You support a local store that sells local wine and supports local artists!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff… not stuffy at all, just fun!
