I suppose a decent facility. I visited Winston-Salem for a wrestling conference/show on Saturday. — Located in the downtown area. Hotels and restaurants were nearby and easy to get to. We all know that I’m not about eating convention center food. — I’m not sure how old the place is but it did feel a bit dated. — Parking was quite easy. There’s a garage but I found street parking easily. — The convention hall used for the event was a bit small, smaller than what I’m used to seeing. I’m used to really high ceilings but in this case, the smaller exhibition halls improved the acoustics of using mediocre sound equipment. Not a super center(for at least what I saw) but it did its job and served as a good venue for a good show.

Nice facility. I was here for a conference. My only complaint is that the food service isn’t quite up to par. For lunch, we were served sliced turkey, string beans, and stuffing. The stuffing was sugary sweet and very soft(mushy). My portion of turkey was also much smaller than everyone else’s at my table. For dinner, we were served steak, chicken marsala, broccoli(undercooked), and potatoes(dredged in garlic). Now I love garlic, but it was a bit too much. However I took the sauce and used it on my broccoli. My steak was raw. Not rare, but raw. There’s a photo posted if you care to see it. But just a word to the wise, cut down the middle of your meat to ensure doneness before partaking. Other than that the facility is nice, although it has started to show severe signs of age.

Big space, rather cavernous, but it’s a convention center. Convenient downtown location with a large parking garage right next door as well as on street parking surrounding the venue. I went this past weekend for the Piedmont Craftsmen’s Show, and I thought the lighting was too bright and it was entirely too warm inside. The booths for the various artisans weren’t overly crowded so they didn’t feel crammed in the space, but there was some jostling in the walkways. I was starving at one point and went to the one food vendor set up outside the Art Show’s main space… $ 5.00 for a tiny, soggy ham and cheese sandwich, and the cashiers had no idea what was going on. I think they were still being trained. Overall, an okay space for events like this, but I might have stayed longer if they had cranked on the AC.

This is a nice facility for events. I’ve been to a conference here recently. I find the layout to be a bit airport-ish with the long, main hallways on each floor with doors to each side. I guess convention centers are never terribly exciting in their own right and this one certainly served its purpose for the conference.
