I have been going to BLL for years at lunch. You have to make sure you get their early or there will be a wait. My personal favorite is the Rotisserie chicken which they are know for. Very juicy, lots of flavor, I love how they use fresh rosemary! My wife enjoys their pasta dish, typically have it on special at lunch. Their Alfredo is oh so good! Their pizzas are good, my favorite is their BBQ chicken. The Stromboli is good as well. I normally get great service, and their staff has been the same for years! My only complaint is the sides, some of the dishes come with two sides. So I will sometimes ask for two order of fries. When the dish comes out I have the same if not less fries as someone who order a single order. Guess I don’t really needed them anywho!

I really enjoyed my dinner at BLL. You can tell it is a local place with a lot of regulars. Service was great. Our waiter was nice and knew the menu well. We started with the calamari. It was tender, crispy, and not greasy. The marinara sauce was really good and I would order that appetizer again. I ordered the chicken Parmesan which comes with a salad. The salad was large and I enjoyed the homemade dressing. The chicken par was really good. The chicken was crispy and juicy. The sauce was delicious. I would have liked my pasta a little more al dente. I would totally come back here again. Based on the calamari I would get a seafood dish.

BLL is a great restaurant hidden away off Knollwood St. I ate here last night with two others who had never been, and we all loved it! The service was great, and the smell of rotisserie chicken is amazing. I ordered the Chicken Boscaiola. It was so good! There was a light cream sauce that contained ham, peas, tomatoes, and mushrooms, which was poured over penne pasta and chicken. Delicious! My husband enjoyed his Chicken alla Vodka, and our friend really enjoyed his Veal Piccata. I sampled everyone else’s meals-they were really good too! Plus, our meals came with a side salad and garlic bread. Great value! BLL is a great hidden Italian gem!

Don’t know about the rest of the menu, but the Rotisserie Chicken, the signature dish here, is rather greasy, and more than a little over seasoned — Rosemary is a good herb, but it is a strong herb, and most of the time it should be a little herb. We bought an entire bird($ 9.99) and end up chunking most in the trash, just not good eats. The Rotisserie Chicken at Whole Foods, fixed fresh everyday, is $ 6.99 and the taste is much superior to the one here.

I stopped in here on a Friday night and business was hoppin’. Visiting Syracuse coach, Jim Boeheim had recently said in a press conference that he had had a fantastic Italian dinner here. There was a wait but I was sat quickly. Little pet peeve: I was taken to a table and then the server wiped the table down.. . please don’t seat me at a dirty table. Anyway, lots of Italian options looked good but I went with some of their rotisserie chicken dishes: The chicken over rice with curry sauce. I got chips and green beans as my sides. The food came out very quickly. The food was piping hot when it arrived. I was kind of surprised because the curry sauce was actually mixed in with the rice instead of put over the chicken. So it was basically curried rice, with chicken on top. Not a huge deal, but I definitely would have read the menu item differently. H’anyway, I really enjoyed the curry flavor in the rice and the tender pieces of chicken. The sides were good but pretty standard. I’ll go back to BLL and try one of their italian dishes.

This is a good spot for a casual lunch or dinner. This is right by my house so the convenience factor is pretty high for me. If you go during lunch on a weekday expect pretty much everyone to be in a suite since am guessing they get a lot of business from the Bank of America and Krispy Kreme corporate offices in their plaza. The service can be a hit or miss, the last time I went it was like the waitress had forgotten abut our table. On to the food! The White Pizza was pretty delicious. I would never normally go for it but it is one of the bf’s favorites so we get it every so often. The meatball sub was good nothing extraordinary. I have also had the rotisserie chicken and it was quite good. But I hate when people charge you extra to share a meal. We were purchasing other things so its not like that would have been the only thing on our bill. My boyfriend is in love with their stromboli. It has cheese, pepperoni, ham, and salami. Their red sauce is good, very flavorful. My biggest disappointment here has been the penne with vodka sauce. It just didn’t taste like penne with vodka sauce, more like a lobster cream sauce or something along those lines. The Limoncello cake was great. The cake was moist and had the prefect lemon mousse.

One of my top lunch choices since they are Paleo-friendly. I usually get the half-chicken and 2 veggie. No bread. The chicken is AWESOME(salt, pepper, rosemary, garlic) and the veggies are fresh. The wait staff has always been very friendly to me, and they always keep my drink topped off. One of the waitresses even offers to give me a to-go cup of tea every time I’m there, which is a nice touch. I’ll keep going there with my friends for the foreseeable future. I might even get the pizza one day ;-)

Our family’s favorite local restaurant. Bar none. This place is W-S’s best kept secret. We’ve lived in W-S for 12 years and have been regulars since. Every meal we’ve ever had has been delicious. Not an exaggeration either, every meal. From the Pizza to the rotisserie chicken, to the many delicious Italian entrees and of course, the homemade blue cheese dressing. It is all very good. It has a quaint vibe w/a lot of regulars, so you always feel comfortable. The owners & staff are friendly & outgoing and know our kids by name. We strongly recommend BLL.

This is a good place for lunch(they are open for dinner). This is what I order: eggplant parm — not the sandwich — it is delicious, cold ½ sub w/chicken soup — the 1st time I got the soup I was really worried about it, it looks kind of weird for chicken soup but it is really good. I think they must blend it or something. The rotisserie chicken salad is good but if you order all white meat they jack the price up $ 2! Shrimp salad is decent. The owner is not the friendliest person — acts like he could care less if you ate there or not & he is pretty cheap, he charges extra for all kinds of stuff. The wait staff are the best. They can get pretty busy at lunch time. Someone in a previous post says the bread sticks are homemade — I don’t think so!

We LOVE this place! The food is excellent and the people are so friendly. They remember everyone and even remember our usual orders. Without a doubt my favorite restaurant in Winston-Salem. And I cannot recommend the meatball parmigiana sub enough. Or the pizza. Or the rotisserie chicken. Or the ranch dressing on the salads. You get what I mean. The food and service have been excellent every single time we have visited.

When I worked next door, I ate here every day. This place was a staple for those of us in the office. I sure miss it. It’s all good. Of course, the rotisserie chicken is wonderful. I love their subs, too. My fave there is the rotisserie chicken sub. Simply addicting. Service was always good, whether we dined in or took our food to go.

care for a low-key meal of moist, flavorful rotisserie chicken? me too. this family-owned restaurant has been around since i was a kid. the location is nondescript and i don’t think they advertise. besides the chicken or the pizza, try the cannellini bean soup. it is hearty and served with homemade bread sticks. you can also expect friendly service.
