Huge fan of Firehouse Subs. My go-to sub is the Smokehouse BBQ Brisket and Cheddar. You have to try this sub. You will be instantly hooked. It is covered in Sweet Baby Ray’s barbeque sauce. Need I say more? Try it and get hooked.

I am in love with this place! I’ve had their Philly steak sandwich but ordered their Smokehouse BBQ Brisket and Cheddar this time. It was delicious. It comes with warm, sliced beef brisket, Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce and melted cheddar cheese in a toasted sub. It was very large but also very good! The meat was lean and didn’t have any fat on it which made it very easy to eat because I didn’t have to pick it apart. It is a little messy so definitely get napkins. The one thing I didn’t like was their dill pickles are wrapped in plastic and also wrapped in the same paper as the sandwich so my bread had a hint of pickles and the pickle tasted a little like plastic wrap. Other than that, I will definitely go again.

The staff/employees would not volunteer to do anything for our group. We had 20 people. Ran away from us when came to order. Talk back rude, rush to get rid of, interrupt us while talking, gave us all orders that were wrong. In the middle of when ordering and paying. The employees would walk away from us. 20 people decided to get a refund. And the employees said not care at all that we are getting a refund. The employees just talked with each other. Saw us coming to order. And they just continued talking. We went to another restaurant. And had great service and food.

Good sandwiches, big seating area, big menu! The only downside is you have to wait a bit for your sandwich to be made. Not a fan of the«what’s your name» system. I prefer giving the customer number over calling their name when their order is ready.

This was our first time trying Firehouse subs. A friend brought us lunch from this place. Honestly, we didn’t even look at the menu. My husband asked our friend to order us a Chicken Parmesan sub and a meatball sub. Unfortunately, they don’t make chicken parm subs so we got 2 meatball subs. We both agreed they were delicious! Their sweet tea was wonderful as well! I would recommend this sub joint and wouldn’t mind trying more of their subs. Only con was that they didn’t have what we were craving. Chicken parm subs are super easy. Wish more places had them down here in NC… Seemed like in NY, you could find them everywhere.

I like firehouse subs but will no longer frequent this locatoin second time that they forgot to put the meat on my sub. I got home and it was all toppings. Once, ok nbd it happens. Twice within about 6 weeks, makes me wonder how many other people it happens to. Everyone who works there is always very pleasant and nice but they must not be paying attention while making the subs because strong lack of meat

One of the best places to get a sub sandwich. Great people and location they know there stuff. The other 2 places are Subway and Jersey Mikes. Firehouse Subs is # 1 on the list though.

I love Firehouse subs! Best place to get a great sandwich. They are fresh, hot, and have the best taste with the ‘fully involved’. If you need a great sub, Firehouse is it!

Pretty slow service but that seems to be every Firehouse I visit. I love the Italian and have always had a delicious sub.

Firehouse subs wow got the steak and cheese and hands down that was the worst sub I have ever had in my life the meat if you can call it that was tasteless and stringy was devoid of cheese and dry for a first visit it made a great impression in short eat somewhere else the food sucks.

I enjoyed my sub at Firehouse. They have updated their menu and added new sandwich additions to make your sub even better. I added cucumbers and hot peppers to my firehouse hero. I like the ham they use because it is a sweeter ham. I took mine to go so it got a little soggy but it was still tasty. If you get yours to go grab extra napkins. I also like that you get a pickle with your sandwhich and it is not an up charge like other places.

Box alarm… all companies respond. delicious subs being reported. The options here all look amazing. Started with the basic italian fully involed and it was awesome as well as being served by an awesome staff. Highly recommemded for an awesome sandwich. Oh… it takes a little longer than other sub shops but very well worth it. All units back in service

The boyfriend and I came in on a Thursday evening and ordered 2 sandwiches to go. The service was fast and friendly, but when we got home we were disappointed in our meals. We live about 5 minutes from Firehouse, and upon arriving home we dove directly into our sandwiches — which were soggy, sloppy messes. My boyfriend had The Engineers sandwich, without the onions, and there was so much moisture(maybe from the cooking liquid of the mushrooms?) that the bread wasn’t just moist, it was dripping wet! I ordered the Italian, which had an overwhelming sweet flavor — disappointing because that is not what I am used to or expecting when I order an Italian sandwich. All-in-all, we would give Firehouse another try. There were a couple other sandwiches that sounded yummy, and maybe they were just having an «off» night.

Hmm, I wonder why the rating at this place is so low. First of all, it’s spacious and clean, so that must not be the problem. As far as customer service goes, I’ve always had friendly servers. Well or cashiers, rather, because this is a sub place. I really like the Engineers sub here, which is grilled mushroom, melted cheese, with turkey, lettuce and tomato, yum! Their subs are around $ 6 to $ 7, if you want a combo, which includes a bag of chips and a drink it’s more, around $ 2 more. I’d say, firehouse sub is a fancy version of subway. But i’d much rather pay more because the subs at subway is never fulfilling for me. I will be back to try their veggie subs, apparently it’s filled wiith wholesome grilled veggies on a toasted bun with melted cheese, heavenly!

Before last night, I had ordered food from Firehouse Subs on Stratford Rd. on six different occasions. Four of those times, the order has been wrong. No one ever apologizes for the mistake, but… whatever. My order is fairly simple: a hot roast beef and cheddar on white bread, plain, no pickle. Usually, the wrong cheese is on the sandwich, or the order isn’t plain. Almost always, there’s a pickle alongside it. To be honest, I have no idea why I’ve returned. Hope springs eternal, I guess. I always visit the store late in the evening, so I’m usually one of just a few customers, sometimes the only customer. Last night was no different. I showed up at 8:00, and it took the person making sandwiches three tries to get anyone to come up to the cash register to take my order. I was informed that they had only wheat bread. Fine. I was told that the only size drink available was medium. Fine. I ordered. Not surprisingly, the sandwich arrived with the wrong cheese and with a pickle. So, I waited for it to be fixed. The second time, the sandwich looked all right… until I took a bite into it. The meat was pastrami, not roast beef. I took it up to the counter for a refund. The woman making the sandwiches apologized, but the cashier barely acknowledged my existence. Instead, she talked to the sandwich maker about making sure the roast beef was where it needed to be. She certainly didn’t apologize. She looked more put-out by the whole ordeal. All in all, it took almost 25 minutes of my time waiting for two sandwiches that were made wrong. I’ll never eat here(or at any Firehouse Subs) again.

Sub looked smaller than I expected, especially for an $ 8 combo. But I was pleasantly surprised that it was more filling than it originally looked. Hubby had New York steamer sub and really liked it. I had meatball sub and also liked it. Décor is really interesting and you can learn a lot about the work of the Winston Salem firefighters over the years – lotsa fire pics! Bathroom needed to be cleaned. Restaurant was chilly. Seemed to take a long time to get the food. Health department rating was only a 90.

My husband and I stopped here to pick up to go subs one midweek day. We were really disappointed with the service and how slow our order took. I understand that when it’s busy, you will wait, but we stared at our subs just sit there while no one rung us up. I also hate the soda machine, given that it was busy when we went so waiting for 8 people to fill their drinks(some with 2) was frustrating for no reason. Especially when people cut in front or people pour out their drink to start a different combination. To top it all off when we piled back in the car, got our directions set up, started driving and opened our sandwiches, both of them were wrong. They did taste good, though they were a bit sloppily made which made them uncomfortable to eat. Since I’m paying, I want what I order though. We aren’t in WS enough and just wanted to go so here’s another place we’ll never go.

Firehouse subs are like the Ferrari’s of subs. And why do you need the best subs on earth? It’s like asking why do you need in iPad — after you try it, you’ll wonder how you lived without it. So far, my favs are the engineer, hook and ladder, and firehouse hero subs. So tasty and the bread is so warm and soft. But that’s not all. Their soda fountain is straight out of the future. A touch screen with what seems like a zillion different flavors. My current fav: peach sprite zero. Last week’s fav: grape coke. This could go on for a while. a long while. On top of that, 1) they have 50(!!) different hot sauces, 2) they have several big screen TV’s, 3) there’s outside eating for a gorgeous day, 4) they bring the your food right to you, and 5) the food just tastes GREAT. There’s nothing else you need. Now, don’t take my word for it. Just ask the genuine firemen and firewomen who actually eat here, sometimes bringing their real firetrucks. That’s right, real firetrucks right in the parking lot. Oh how I wish I was a kid again so that I could play on those firetrucks. It has been a long time since I saw any fast food restaurant go the extra mile, and Firehouse subs just ran a marathon for all of us.
