Was excited to see this place hidden in a strip mall near me… love sushi. This place has giant menu but sad food. Sushi rolls are mostly rice, little filling. Seawood wrap is super chewy, I’ve never had that before. Entrees same deal; tiny meat pile, giant rice scoop. And they were out of green tea! Edamane was unsalted and microwaved soggy texture. Prices high for quality. Mailer that comes to my house has coupons for this place so that helped make us less sad. People there are nice but forgot some of our food but tried charging us for it. :(

This kimonos is one of the better restaurants of this type in this area. My date and I ate here on a weeknight. While I am not a sushi eater my date wax so that made this restaurant a good choice for dinner. I had the steak and chicken combo which was vary good. My date had sushi and she ate everything on her plate. My meal was served up very quickly and was very tasty. The waitress we had was helpful and really nice in explaining the menu choices to me. They get a little crowded during normal meal times. We will be coming to eat here in the near future.

My family loves to come eat here. Very clean and inviting atmosphere. The food is always well prepared and tasteful. The staff is very kind and regularly check on you to see if you need anything.

Expensive. Over $ 15 for 6 pieces of sushi. Kind of ridiculous for the area. Sushi was good. Not the freshest I’ve had but decent.

I love their sushi, so many kinds. The Chicken is a little tough. I will try other dish next time

Good food, good service. The steak and scallops were very good. Expected the soup to have a wonton or two but it was just broth. Server disappears until I was done the meal. Fortunately many other servers available. Atmosphere is upscale strip mall. Mould go back again.

Very good food, and cheap. Your basic Japanese Hibachi restaurant. They have a dining area that is really clean. You get prompt service.

I cannot seem to get a decent meal here. I am told they make the rice hours in advance so it’s not fresh and they cannot remove ingredients such as onions. Quite recently they stopped offering sweet and low for those of us who drink unsweet tea. I guess I’m going to have to find another place for my sushi and hibachi.

When I’m at work in Winston and want a quick sushi or hibachi meal for lunch, I turn to Kimono. They are super fast with to-go orders. They were finished with my and my co-workers to-go sushi orders in 10 minutes! That’s pretty impressive. I’ve never actually eaten in the restaurant, I’ve always ordered it to go, so I cannot comment on the wait staff. However, the cashiers are quick. I usually order the shrimp tempura roll. It’s different here than my regular sushi place because they put asparagus in the shrimp tempura roll along with deep fried shrimp, avocado, and masago. It’s such a delicious combination!

Kimonos is one of those places that is a sleeper. One would think that since it is in a strip mall it just can’t be that good. One would be wrong. The food is really good. Na, great. I enjoy the more traditional dishes but the off the ranch type of options are great. The King roll(I believe is the name) is a full serving of deep fried shushi. This will make you know you have found the Never — Never land of Japanese shushi.

For the area this place is really good. Good was fresh and the prices were great! The wait staff is a bit hard to understand but overall excellent meal for the money. Definitely would go again next time in Winston Salem!

Very good service and tasty and fresh sushi with cooked grilled and teryaki items for those who don’t like raw seafood. The only reason I don’t give it a 5 rating is because of the very plain cafeteria style décor. Spruce it up some and it will go far!

One of the best«quick serve» Japanese restaurants I’ve been too. I ordered the steak with mushrooms. Steak tasted great, and was tender. Mushrooms were excellent. Rice tasted good also. We ordered spring rolls and dumplings for appetizers, and they tasted great. Owner(manager?) came by to check on us during our meal. Excellent first dining experience at Kimono.

Our go-to spot for hibachi and sushi in Winston. Kimono roll and California roll are favorites. Spring rolls and salads with ginger dressing start the meal off right. Friendly & attentive staff.

We were in the Winston area this weekend to try out a few sushi places. This Kimono on Summit Square Blvd was our first stop. It is a small place but very clean, very friendly staff and the rolls were fresh and yummy. We ordered the Dynamite and Crazy rolls. We would give this 3.5 stars. It was a nice first visit.
