Kmart

No wonder this store is so terrible. It is the SLOWEST store I have EVER been to. I didn’t even want to give one star. I recently moved to Clemmons and have been here a total of three times! Every time I come for just a few products and when there are approximately 2 people in front of me in the check out line, I will most likely have a minimum of a 20 minute wait. No exaggeration. I will never shop at this Kmart again.

I go to Kmart every once in a while. Typically more around Halloween and Christmas as they have good decorations. Stopped in today for a surge protector. I didn’t want to trek into town, and I could have gone to at least two other stores, both close by. But I wanted to also look at the electronic dept, I was in the mood for a new game.
I head straight back, and was greeted wall to wall DVDs… did they move the games?! I turned around and found a 4 foot section, maybe 3 foot tall with a few games all on clearance. I asked the very busy guy working and he says «they stopped sealing video games about two weeks ago.» ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
As I wondered around the store I started to see what was going on. Floor tiles missing large chunks. Clearance items that should have been sent to pasture long ago. And the prices on toys were high compared to other box stores.
We did find a few items, including the surge protector to buy. I did find the price range on the surge protectors very odd 1 for 8.99, the next 29.99…
So the check out we go, 2 cash registers were open, 4 – 6 people per line! Also not sure what a code C in layaway is but if it was said 1 time over the overhead it was said a dozen plus times in the 20 mins we were shopping. Guessing it was code customer service as there was none to be found, except for the five employees outside on break.
Heading across the street next time or in town, Kmart just isn’t what it used to be.

Being one of the few remaining Kmarts it is pretty good. I come here once in a while. They can have some good deals and and offer some different brands you do not see at Walmart. They have a nice selection of drapes and the set I bought have lasted a long time.

Great store to shop for a variety of things and at a reasonable price. Other then slow checkouts at times and the checkout aisles seem to be too small to fit carts through, it’s a good peaceful place to shop.

They had affordable Christmas presents for my younger niece & nephew as well as a cool Christmas display. My sister was here to pay on her layaway (another plus: they still have layaway here). The selection at this Kmart is better than at the one near where I lived in Winston Salem & is less pricey than the ones I’ve been to elsewhere.
Staffing the day before Thanksgiving was lacking. They had long lines & 2 registers open, to the chagrin of my sister who was dealing with fussy little kids. A third register was opening & I decided to go to that one since I had to check the price on one of my items. Turns out the price was right for one thing I was considering for a gift but just then, the register decided to mess up. Our cashier apologized for it but it was definitely not her fault. After multiple staff members had to come over since apparently, no one had dealt with this particular register fluke before, a manager told us to go to the customer service desk to finish our transactions. We did just that. Everyone was polite & as we were leaving, our initial cashier asked if everything worked out. I mentioned that we were all set.
