I know, I know there are loyal P.F. Chang’s patrons out there that are committed to what they put out on the table in front of you. After my first visit to this new location, I find myself slightly ashamed to be possibly seen in here with the rest of the herd! You know what I mean, four o’clock on a Saturday afternoon and the parking lot is full! There’s literally no room to stand in the front door area. The plethora of teen girls swirling around the check-in desk taking your name, then after the fact, informing you that it’s a hour and a half wait! Then you see the look of accomplishment on their faces once every ten minutes that they fix their latest screw up of seating the wrong four top to someone that walked in only twenty minutes ago. After finally getting seated, thankfully toward the back, it takes some time to just get your drinks. Fourty five minutes after getting seated, your informed it will be any minute now due to a busy kitchen? It’s a huge kitchen, designed for a full house, with a menu that never changes, and yet they never seem to keep up? Anyhow, the delicious Wonton Soup was luke warm. The seemingly never arriving Mongolian Beef was good as usual. The equally late Pork Lo Mein was delicious for their take on it. However, I’ve never for one bought into the idea the P.F.‘s is a gourmet take on Chinese! Mongolian Beef @ $ 16 is nothing special at that price. We all have our«chains» that we can’t quite never completely break free from their hold, but it also doesn’t mean you still don’t cringe at the dreaded 1 ½ hour wait announcement at 4pm on a Saturday afternoon! Where did all of these people come from? I so want to stand up and announce to everyone to follow me to Greensboro to a kick ass chinese spot! Yes, at some point, I’ll be back staring at that huge horse out front begging for someone to leave so that I can get my Dan Dan Noodles!

The restaurant is really clean and the food is presented very nicely. The chicken lettuce wrap is delicious, so is the combination lo mein noodles. Wasn’t really a huge fan of the Korean bbq chicken or the hot and sour soup. Our waitress Brandy was excellent!

Update: I came here last night for a date night with my husband and absolutely loved it again! It started out excellent because we called the night before and made reservations for 5pm. Upon arriving, even though it was getting busy, we were immediately seated off to the side in the glasses in area. Our server, Timothy, had the best personality and demeanor for a server! He was very friendly and also very funny! He apparently is usually the bar tender but was helping out the floor that night. We ordered Chang’s for Two again because for the price, we can get 2 soups, an appetizer, 2 entrées and dessert! We both started out with myself getting Hot & Sour Soup and my husband getting Egg Drop Soup. Both were hot, comforting and perfect for the cold rainy weather outside. We ordered our usual Chicken Lettuce Wraps for our appetizer and it was delicious with crisp, cut lettuce, freshly cooked chicken in an delicious sauce for us to stuff in the lettuce leaves! Make sure to put some of the dipping sauce in the wrap because it elevates the flavors to another dimension! Our entrées were Chang’s Spicy Chicken for myself and Beef and Broccoli for my husband. Of course, I tasted his also :) Mine had pieces of chicken very lightly battered and fried to a light, crispy exterior yet tender on the inside! Then tossed in a sweet & spicy sauce that was like the duck sauce, but a slight kick. I had brown rice with it as well. The Beef and Broccoli was delicious also. The beef was very tender and grilled perfectly. It had this savory, yet mildly sweet sauce that they tossed the meat and broccoli in. He also had brown rice. Our server surprised us with 4 egg rolls while we ate because he said they had made extra and he was giving them away! How sweet!!! They were huge! The outside was hand rolled and crispy. The inside was stuffed with fresh, crispy veggies as well! They were served with a sauce made from Spicy Chinese Mustard and Duck Sauce– a definite must have from now on! Our dessert was 2 Vanilla Wontons which were rich and tasted like a fried cheesecake– the best part is they come as 2, but it’s perfect because they’re super rich! My only complaint would be to not allow patrons to exit in the patio unless it’s an emergency because the freezing air would blow through as we ate dinner. The 2 tables beside ours said the same thing. However, the excellent service start to finish along with the delicious food made this an amazing date night! ****************************************** We called this AM for reservations to help with the wait being tonight is the grand opening today. Not only did they seat is early, but in a great location off from the loud bar area. The interior is a nice, dimly lit ambiance with candles and natural wood planks on the ceiling. The different sections of the dining room have clear glass dividers so it’s very open and spacious. Our server was super friendly and helpful and also the trainer, Mark, from Alabama. He came to personally thank us for dining tonight. We went with the dinner for two option and chose 2 soups, an appetizer, and 2 entrees with a dessert. I chose Hot and Sour soup and my husband chose egg drop soup. We chose the chicken lettuce wraps app and then garlic noodles and Kung Pao Chicken for entrees and wonton desserts, chocolate raspberry and also vanilla!

Ate here for lunch — nothing too special. Pretty much what you’d expect. I had the lettuce wraps which were wonderful, as always. Lettuce pieces were not the right size — ended up eating it like a salad. Husband got a sushi, which was good. Daughter got the honey chicken. They are really pushing the award system. Waiter made sure we had signed up before we left. Its fine, but I’m pretty happy with Chinese take-out when I have a hankering.

Everytime I come to P F Chang’s I have high hopes, however I always come out feeling empty and unsatisfied. Winston-Salem finally got a P F Chang’s! My neighbor gave my dad a $ 100 dollar giftcard to the restaurant, so we decided one night to check the place out. My parents are OG Chinese and they nitpick every Chinese restaurant, so I was excited to see what they complain about this time. Tip: Always call ahead of time to make a reservation. I made the rookie mistake of not doing that so we had to wait for ~30 minutes for a table of 4 to open up. When we finally were seated, the ambiance was definitely trendy casual, however the lighting was super dim. I could barely make out the people in front of me. On our table, there was this one powerful light, that was situated on my dad, so we had to take turns looking at the menu in his light. We settled on getting 2 of the Chang’s For Two, a Four Course dinner for $ 42.95 with choice of an appetizer, 2 soups, 2 entrees, and a dessert. What was eaten: –Soups: The egg drop soup was the better of the two soups, mainly because the hot and sour soup tasted burnt. +Chicken Lettuce Wraps — This was DELICIOUS. Something so simple, yet classic. We ran out of the lettuce pretty fast, but you can always ask for more :) +Dynamite Shrimp — This app was good. However it might’ve just been the super fatty mayo sauce on it. +Pad Thai — This was probably the best out of the entrees. My parents said that this was the best, however not worth the pricetag since its essentially flavored noodles. –Mongolian Beef — My dad ordered this and hated it. It had no beef taste, everything was masked by sweetness. –Honey Shrimp — This tasted exactly like the Orange Peel Shrimp –Orange Peel Shrimp — This tasted exactly like the Honey Shrimp +Wonton Desserts — We got both the Sweet Vanilla and t he Chocolate Raspberry wontons. Be careful when biting into it as the gooey cream cheese inside can cause some serious splatter zone on your shirt. I do have to say, the waiting staff was on point. Super kind and knowledgeable about the menu. Water was filled up when needed and clean plates were served out! What to take away? Nothing, I don’t think grabbing a doggy bag is worth reliving what you ate at the restaurant. Definitely not going back anytime soon. I give it a stunning 4 courics.

So I have eaten at PF Chang’s before in Greensboro and in Miami, but this was our first time eating at the new location in Winston-Salem. After reading some of the other Unilocaler’s reviews, I decided to go and try it out for myself as some of the reviews did not matchup to what I had experienced at the other locations. I’m glad that I went. The inside is nice and modern, it looks good like all of the other locations. Our waiter Michael was excellent! I loved his enthusiasm and knowledge of the menu, although he did admit to us that we were his first order of cappuccino that he ever made. My wife said it was great! We started off the night with Pork dumplings and the lobster tacos. The dumplings were good, and had a beautiful presentation, but the filling was just a tad on the dry side.(I must admit though I have high expectations for dumplings ever since I ate them in San Fran’s Chinatown). The fried lobster tacos were phenomenal! The came with a jicama shell and the lobster was sweet and juicy. That was a 5 star app ladies and gentlemen. For entrée’s we ordered the Beef a la Sichuan and the Combo Lo Mein. the first dish was a nice spicy dish of beef strips and green scallions and other julienned vegetables. Great dish. The lo mein is beef, shrimp, and chicken with other vegetables, another good dish… however, when I mixed them together it was a great dish. Michael brought out a trio of sauces(a red chili paste, hot mustard, and the dim sum sauce) then he claimed a special house sauce by mixing them all together. It did brighten up the lo mein as a little extra infusion of spice often does to Asian dishes. For dessert we ordered the chocolate raspberry wantons. These were wantons with a chocolate filling with a raspberry sauce drizzled over them and a little dusting of powdered sugar, and a few fresh raspberries decorating the plate. The were nice, not too sweet, but for me the perfect little bit of sweet to finish off the meal. All in all a really good meal that included two appetizers, two entrees, one dessert, two glasses of wine and a couple of glasses of beer all for $ 70 plus tip. So for us we consider this a decent value. It seems that they are really pushing this new location as Michael also brought out a little card that allowed us to sign up of a preferred diner program that offers 1000 points for signing up and 10 points for every dollar that you spend. At 2000 points you are allowed to select an entrée of your choice, so if you like this place it can help pay for it just by dining there. If you haven’t had the chance go give them a try.

Salty. Beef jerky type meat. Poor service. PF Changs has become Chinese Applebee’s. If you are expecting to be wow’d, you will be horribly disappointed.

I had almost crossed P.F. Chang’s off my list of favorite spots to eat. My fam and I used to go to the one in Greensboro and after three bad experiences with the food not being as good as it once was I knew I didn’t have to go back. So when we got a P.F. Chang’s in WS I wasn’t that excited. But decided to give it a try to see if this one would be different. I’m so glad I did. This was the best P. F Chang experience my fam and I have had in a long time. The service was excellent. We sat at the big table in the bar area. I’m usually not comfortable sitting at a high table and chair but the one in the bar area was great. We had plenty of table space and the foot bar they have around the table made it really comfortable. Now about the food. I decided to stick with my usual Kung Pao Shrimp because I wanted to compare it to the food at the GSO location. It was excellent!!! And the appetizer I got — Jicama Lobster tacos were very tasty! Although now I know why they serve the tacos in that stand. I expected the jicama«shell» to be crunchy but it’s not. So have a knife and fork ready. But I loved them none the less and will order again. They had a good kick with the peppers! All my family loved our food. We got some of everything and shared. We had excellent service and I will be going back. Winston got me to like P.F. Changs again! Woot! Woot!

What a great experience … It was a private time just for me after I had studied for two weeks and passed a big exam. The place was fantastic. Great service and did not have to wait at all. Once I was seated I was greeted and drinks were ordered. I got the Mongolian Beef for main course and it was so tender. I had the dynamite shrimp to start with. I went to the bar afterwards and had Lauren to take care of me. She was quick and kept me filled on some great drinks. All in all it was a great experience!!!

Today I was very disappointed at my first visit! I did not like the hot and sour soup, asked manager about the ingredients and he never came back to our table again. When the server presented my lobster tacos, everyone at my table started laughing, they(3) were tiny and included 5 small pieces of fried(?) lobster. This was on the lunch menu for almost $ 13.00. There were nine Red Hatters at our table and at least half expressed their disappointment and will not return.

Went here for a late lunch on my Birthday. Not impressed. For was very good but service VERY lacking. I’ve visited many P.F. Chang’s in my travels and this is by far the worst service I’ve ever encountered at one.

This new Pf Changs is still figuring out kinks as they have only been open less than a month. As in any restaurant, ticket times are long when the room is full, which is why I don’t eat in crowded restaurants. But they are trying their best and everybody is still learning. Y’all have to be more understanding or just not eat their for a little while, because it’s not going to be the same as another chain that’s been open for years now.

We went on Saturday October 17, 2015. They told us it would be a 20 – 30 minute wait but we only had to wait 10 mins! The Host/Hostess you could tell were still new to job. We got there at 1:00 and it was packed! They text you when you table is ready. So there is no loud speaker going on the whole time you are there. Very good food and our waiter James was very good! The interior is a nice, dimly lit and casual ambiance with candles and natural wood planks on the ceiling. The lights on the far side in the ceiling were large, stainless steel circles! Which makes for a very romantic setting! We got the Chang’s For Two which is a Four Course Prix-Fixe Menu for $ 42.95 with choice of 2 soups, an appetizer, 2 entrees and finished with a choice of dessert. We started with Egg Drop soup followed by Chang’s Chicken lettuce wraps(gluten-free). Wok-seared chicken, mushrooms, green onion and water chestnuts over crispy rice sticks. The appetizer, Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps were beyond amazing and we really could have just made a meal out of them. For our Entrees we got the Chang’s Spicy Chicken, Beef and Broccoli and Fried Rice. For dessert we got two Sweet Vanilla Cream cause they were out of the Chocolate Raspberry Wontons. We love you can make reservations and also order take out online, as well as become a PF Chang’s Preferred Member to earn 10 points per dollar and get a free entrée with 2,000 points! Considering there’s no cost to join, they start you with 1,000 points with first purchase, exclusive invites to Member-only tastings, and a complimentary dessert or appetizer on your birthday! We currently have 1,420 points just after our First visit. We are definitely fans of PF Chang’s and we will go back again. We are so glad we finally have P.F. Chang’s in Winston-Salem!

The food was ok– PF Changs is good but not amazing as a rule, however, they seemed especially average tonight at the new Winston location. Not sure if this is due to the ‘new’ chefs still learning or if it’s just been so long since I’ve been to one that the recipes have changed for the worse. The place wasn’t too busy at 5 when we got there but was packed by 7 and service was very slow — though our server at least was making an effort. Will give it a while before going back.

Waited a few weeks after opening to let them iron out the kinks, and gave it a try for dinner tonight. The timing of the food courses were on point considering we went at a crowded time. The service was fast, accurate, and friendly. I have heard around town that ticket times had been very long during the opening phase but you wouldn’t know that tonight. Appetizers were out in 10 minutes and entrees were perfectly staged arriving 15 minutes later. For being less than a month old they are doing just fine and should only improve. The sake was good, the food was great, but the brown rice was not at all hot(my only complaint) Overall a very nice experience and I believe Changs is a great addition to Winston Salem. I will return soon.

It’s nice to have a new restaurant in town, even a chain restaurant. On a recent Sunday evening, it wasn’t firing on all cylinders. We sat down at 5:45, were told no other dinner reservations available until 8 pm. That’s OK, except many tables were empty, indication either the kitchen or the wait staff can’t handle a full restaurant. Not a good sign. Our server was personable, and knowledgeable about the menu. But we had to wait far too long for sangria(which I guess is pre made) and our edamame arrived freezer cold. Someone brought out dumplings as an «peacemaker.» My son ordered strawberry lemonade and was served lemonade and told strawberry wasn’t available — what? Someone can’t run across the parking lot to WalMart and get a pack of frozen berries? The appetizers were pretty standard, the flavors stood out but the meat was bland. My Saigon spring rolls were ice cold, so again, as with the edamame, I wondered what the actual temp was supposed to be. The front of house staff seems interested in pleasing guests — let’s see if the kitchen staff can step it up.

Only reason the review is more than one star is because of our waiter, Buren. Great guy, and excellent service. I called to make reservations about 45 minutes beforehand for a party of 2. Took the girl on the phone 15 minutes to get my information. Not really sure why, but she definitely was too incompetent to be answering the phones. Food took 45 minutes to come out. Appetizers came out quickly but we waited 40 minutes in between appetizers and main dish. Manager was running around frantically apologizing to everyone all night. Definitely the worst PF changs I’ve been to. Atmosphere is terrible. Cheap ass PFCHANGS lol.

I made reservations for dinner tonight after reading the only review on Unilocal. It was a huge advantage, we waited only a couple of minutes to be seated while those without reservations were told it was a 35 – 45 minute wait. And that was at 5:30 pm on a Thursday night. No complaints about getting enough water, my water glass was never empty and I drink a lot of water. When we have gone to PF Chang’s in the past, in Durham when our son was in college, I always ordered my favorite dish. But tonight I wanted to try something new so I ordered an appetizer as my main meal, the jicama lobster tacos(3). My husband ordered his favorite, kung pao chicken. My meal came out a good 15 minutes before his arrived at our table. I assume the kitchen thought it was our appetizer and sent it out first, but I had made it clear that it was my main course. It was so hard to sit there and look at my food and wait patiently before digging in. We talked to the manager and he explained that they are using a new system in the kitchen and still working out the bugs. He comped my meal, which was nice. We are definitely fans of PF Chang’s and we will go back again and again. We are so glad we finally have one in WS! I will revise my review after future visits and after they get the bugs worked out.
