Food is great, would give 5 stars except for the fact when placing takeout orders I have had a couple instances where something was missing from the order. Just know to double check your order if ordering food to go.

We stopped here after a play across the street. They weren’t ready for the crowd so it took a while to get the order going but once It did we had a good time. I got the white meat chicken plate with mash potatoes and Mac and cheese! The chicken was AMAZING! The potatoes was good too. The Mac and cheese was ok.

YES! YESSSSSSSS! The fried chicken. Get it. Do it. Thank me later. Alright, now that that’s out of my system. The sweet tea is teeth-shatteringly sweet but that’s to be expected. The potato salad wasn’t my favorite. It had an odd consistency.. .too much liquid perhaps. The mac and cheese was good.. . but didn’t blow me away. The cornbread pancake was just meh. Despite all that.. . THEFRIEDCHICKEN.

Complete disappointment is the understatement of the century! A slow afternoon, three servers and we still couldn’t get ketchup for our fries or napkins to clean up a spill that occurred while swatting at the many flies. If you ask for butter, it comes in a plastic ramekin because it is liquid — how do you put liquid butter on cornbread? The fried chicken is good, and they claim everything is homemade — the fries look alarmingly like the frozen crinkle cut fries you can get in the freezer section at the grocery store — so either they are lying or they hired the guy that worked at the Orida factory to come cut potatoes. Beware-they add a 18% service fee on every bill. We were very surprised to see that, however it made sense thinking back on the poor service. Of course you can’t expect to get the ketchup from the disinterested server-she knows she is going to get your money regardless of how poorly she performs at her simple and what should be easy job. Cleanliness??? Don’t even get me started on that. I did mention the flies right? I was craving good southern food and thought a locally owned place would satisfy. I always pull for the local guy-which is why we stopped for lunch. NOTHING that occurred would ever make me return! Save your money and go to KFC — you will have a far better and less frustrating dining experience!

Pretty average good and a weird, empty atmosphere most of the time. The Mac a cheese tasted like pepper which was sort of off putting also.

Best fried chicken, best collards, best yams I ever had. Fabulous service. Just traveling through the area but can’t wait to come back.

Prime Tyme you’re amazing! Everything that my family of five ordered was superb! The ribs were so tender, the buffalo wings were the best I’ve tasted in our area. I love candied yams and they were better than my mom’s and she’s a fantastic cook. Yes, you have become our family favorite and the prices surely fit our modest budgets. Thanks for the great eating experience!

Okay last time I reviewed this place I was annoyed because I was just so hungry! It really is a great place to eat. It’s definitely my got to place whenever I’m craving southern food. There isn’t one thing on the menu that I’ve had that has disappointed me. The staff is very friendly & they always have a great playlist going of old school music & I mean like ‘That’s How Strong My Love Is’ old school. If you can appreciate good southern food, good service & old school music I would deff give it a try.

Prime Tyme Soul Café knows their customer’s sweet spot, and it is fried chicken. Freshly cooked with a substantial crust that allows for maximum enjoyment of the seasonings, this delectable coating hides what you really want. Once you get a bite of the tender, juicy meat inside, this fry incarnation will have you begging for more. If you are into some serious indulging, order the black eyed peas and fried potatoes.

OBNOXIOUSLYLOUDMUSIC! Saw this place online and thought I’d try it out. I was nearly knocked over by the concert level volume of the music. It was like sitting next to a huge speaker. The service was good and the food came out quickly. The food was ok. The mac n cheese was mushy and the Texas toast was literally just toast, not buttered and grilled like you typically get at restaurants. I wouldn’t really recommend it unless you’re already deaf and don’t care about losing any more of your hearing.

WOW… INCREDIBLE, best fried chicken and fish I have ever had. The collard greens are amazing, Mac and cheese great too. We Will definitely be back. Nicely decorated with a full bar. One meat and two large sides plus fried cornbread for 9 dollars, a lot of very, very good food. You can taste the LOVE in the food. You have to check it out, gooood stuff !!! P. S. It takes about 20 minutes to cook the chicken, we called and placed our order about 10 minutes out. We got there and were served our food in about 7 minutes.

After the passing of Deac-n-Dive and the short life of Big Mussels, I was hoping for a concept that would work in this location, since the dining options around here are getting old. Wife and I stopped in for lunch today. There’s alot on the menu. More than I would like because it makes me worry about freshness, but there should be something to satisfy anyone who wants soul food. And there were no issues with the quality of the food we got. I ordered the fried chicken plate. The waiter told me it was going to be about 20 minutes because the chicken is fried fresh. It definitely took the full 20 minutes, but it was worth the wait. The chicken was cooked well — crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. I got collard greens and mac and cheese on the side, and when the food came out there was also an order of green beans(mistake in the kitchen). The sides were tasty, very much like the sides at every«soul food» restaurant I’ve eaten at(meaning alot of salt and oil — which I like!). My wife ordered the bologna sandwich, which she confirmed was a thick slab of bologna(Davie County style). When the sandwich came out she took one bite and said«this is ham.» It was thinly shaved and looked and tasted like ham. The woman who ran the food out from the kitchen(not our waiter) said it was bologna, but our waiter then confirmed it was ham and offered to replace it. We had to run so they took it off the bill. Good business there. Confusion came from the other server trying to help run the food, which can happen. But saying it was bologna not ham shouldn’t. At the end a third server came over and offered us drinks to go, which was nice. Overall, some minor bugs being worked out with the otherwise enthusiastic service and good soul food. Looking forward to sampling other parts of the menu, including that bologna sandwich!
