Second visit. First visit had the poutine which was outta sight. Several great beers on tap, including Oskar Blues and Highland Brewing. Please try the Korean bbq tacos, you’ll find they might need some Sriracha to boost the heat but so much flavor. Great wraps, potato and pasta salad, and a garlic spinach. Cool place with big tvs, you don’t have to watch, very friendly people and atmosphere is kinda hip without being pretentious.

I really like this spot. It has great beer, really good food and a nice space. I will definitely go here again. I would make it a regular spot if I lived in town.

Me and my buddy, went here this past Saturday night to watch the playoff games, and we loved it! A friend of his suggested this place to him, so we tried it out. It’s right on the corner of first street near the hospital, and on the outskirts of downtown. Parking can get crowded at night, but they have extra spaces in the back. The inside is really cool, as they have a good amount of tables everywhere and four large flat screen TV’s where the game was on. They have outside seating as well with TV’s outside but they were covered up as it was way too cold to sit outside that night. The ceiling has beer taps hanging from it, which is really a different spin, but a perfect gesture for a bar. It was crowded, but not crazy loud where I was able to chat with my buddy without screaming at the top of my lungs, even though he was right next to me. The hostess was really nice, and offered us a table at the bar since it would be 20 – 40 minutes before we could get a table, so we chose the bar. There were two bartenders there; one was a HUGE Steelers fan, and had on a Hines Ward jersey, and the other had on all black. The one with all black on was particularly rude as she took forever to get us menus, and then didn’t come back for like 30 minutes to ask if me and my buddy were ready to order. She then just disappeared, and the waitress who was a Steelers fan started checking up on us, and she was awesome! She kept asking us if we were good on beer, or wanted more food, and she even charged us for 2 beers a piece, even though we had three a piece. I got the Wimpy Burger, and added pimento cheese to it with fries, and my buddy got the chicken tacos, with a salad, which looked delicious(I will be trying that next time). I left her a 50% tip because she really looked out for us, and even talked playoff football as the girl really knew her stuff, I was impressed! Overall, I would definitely go back again as it was a great experience! If you go, try the Gaelic Ale, it’s awesome!

It’s a solid place. Good beer selection, good place to watch sports or just meet friends, and it’s not too loud. However, the main reason I would go there is because the burgers were SOOOO good and they were one of the only places in town that used to offer locally-grown beef — now they’ve taken that off their menu, and their hamburgers are nothing like they used to be. Decent, but not special. I’m very sad about this move by management for both ethical and taste reasons. BRINGBACKTHELOCALBEEF options, and differentiate yourself from every other place in Winston. A no-brainer in most big cities, or even NC’s mountain towns — but Winston sorely lags behind.

Went in on a quiet Saturday afternoon — Lex gave me great service at a table, and it was nice and quiet. At rowdier times, it gets louder, but still one of my favorite places to drink beer in Winston!

Visiting family at a local hospital and wanted dinner and drinks at 10pm on a Sunday. Not much open, decided to give Quiet Pint a try. Reviews on Unilocal were mixed, but still sounded good. Very cool little place. Met right away, friendly service and great selection of craft beer. Limited menu for food, we went with flatbread and nachos. Everything had great taste and very fresh. Food served quickly and drinks keep filled.

My husband and I love quiet pint. It’s named well, it’s often busy but never too loud. We go there to watch football usually. They have great burgers and fries so that’s usually what we stick with. They have different drink deals every day of the week. They have live music often, but I’m not sure when or how it goes since I’ve only driven by while its going on. Also, parking is easy, which usually isn’t the case for taverns.

Quiet Pint is good for a drink, but the food’s just so-so. I like it as a meet-up spot if there’s something big going on downtown that I want to avoid. They have a nice outdoor patio for when the weather’s agreeable. I’ve had the Cubano Tacos with black bean tots. The Tacos were good, the tots were a little dry and bland. The mac n’ cheese is very good and rich.

When this place first opened, it was amazing. Then they did a complete makeover of the menu. We used to go all the time, but now we only go occasionally. I wish they would get back to their original concept and the old menu.

If I could give this restaurant 6 stars I would! We decided to stop by Monday night on a whim. The four of us had never been but thought it looked pretty cute. WELL… every bit of this place is golden. The beer selection is excellent, drink/food specials every weeknight and the food is incredible. Monday nights they offer $ 6.50 burgers and $ 3.50 well drinks. I ordered vodka and pineapple juice and it was great for the small price. For an app we ordered the nachos carnitas — and expected they would be your typical nacho style app. It was beyond delicious and my dad and I were basically fighting over the last chip. I also tried one of the numerous craft beers they offer, which I love having as an option. After that we were all pumped for dinner and once it arrived we were beyond impressed. I got the black bean burger and it was by far the best black bean burger I have ever had. It was clear they made it in house fresh and with care. It was crispy on the outside and mushy perfection on the inside, with avocado and some kind of crema on top — SOGOOD. I got garlic spinach was my side dish and it was so good, my husband finished it when I wasn’t looking. Everyone loved their meals and we all pretty much shared everything. My mother got the Nonna’s flatbread, tasted fresh and delicious. I loved eating the other half of my burger for lunch the next day and it was equally as awesome. I told them at the table I could not wait to right this review because they deserve to have their praises sung loud and proud. I will definitely be going back with my friends and other family members. We actually discussed trying to make Monday nights a regular thing since you can’t beat the price and more importantly the taste! Also, our waitress was cute and sweet and patient with us when we decided to change tables so we could go outside. All around a wonderful place and dare I say my new favorite restaurant??? Since usually I am a mexican food queen I’ll have to try their tacos before I 100% make that call ;)

Great place to have beers on tap. I got the Parmesan fries which are fantastic. It comes with fancy ketchup and a different kind of sauce. This place can get pretty busy after work and parking is very limited. They have good selection of craft beers. I would recommend to others to come check this place out.

Most college towns have a strip of bars, clubs, and college-oriented restaurants very near the college campus – think of Gainesville or Athens or Berkeley or Providence or. .. well, most college towns. Winston-Salem, despite being home to Wake Forest University seems far more spread out and non-unified. Finding a gastropub was harder than it ought to be in a college town, I felt, but once found Quiet Pint certainly fit the bill.(And by found, I mean following a maze of streets until you’re in the shadow of a hospital and next to a funeral home – seriously. There sat this well-regarded pub.) The interior is warm, cozy, and inviting and the tables and bar itself both provide ample space for patrons plus there is an outdoor patio that looked pretty nice. Again, the location seemed odd to me but I’m not familiar with the town, either: it just seemed kind of stuck in the middle of nowhere – at least for a pub. The bartender was friendly and I made friends with some of the patrons, too: Winston-Salem seems to be a very friendly and polite place, certainly. The Old Fashioned the bartender made me was fine and they have a decent selection of Bourbon and other liquor but make no mistake: this is not so much a craft cocktail bar and the emphasis is more on beer, with a varied selection and a variety of daily specials. My chicken tacos were pretty good – certainly a more than generous serving of chicken in them – and the pasta side salad was a most-welcome surprise: I don’t normally even care much for pasta salads but this one was so good I really considered ordering another serving of it. Overall, impressive. Good food in the trendy but needed gastropub model at fair prices and a good crowd. It would be nice if one could just walk down the street from it and have plenty of other bars and restaurants in a nice row, but that’s just not the case here.

I had my first girls night in over a year here last night. I found this place on Unilocal and decided the menu looked yummy enough to try. I was expecting more than 1 mac n cheese than they had… apparently they just do a daily mac n cheese. Our waiter was super friendly. The atmosphere is so laid back. Great for friends to relax and eat some really good food. My waiter suggested the 3 Lil piggies sandwich adding on some of their house made steak sauce. He was right on the dot! That sandwich was so amazing! Bacon, black forest ham, and bbq pork in one sandwich. Absolutely delicious! The portion was huge too. We were brought our plates(my friend had just a basic burger and we both had fries). A few minutes later, he brings out another plate of fries and says«they skimped on the fries, so I brought out some more.» If that’s them skimping, good lord! A lot of fries lol. The only thing that disappointed me was the cocktail. $ 8.50 for a very small mixed drink. The flavor wasn’t that great either. Definitely wouldn’t order another one. The beer seemed to have much better value. This is a great place and I do see myself returning in the future!!!

We were here last night to watch the NCAA tournament. They are getting a new beer selection(updating both drafts and bottles) which my husband appreciated — they have a much bigger selection than what they had previously. Our food, though, was no good. We split the NCBBQ chicken wings to start and the sauce was just bad. We thought it might be a bit sweet(like Western NCBBQ sauce) but it was more smokey and spicy with a hint of sweetness. I don’t know how to explain the flavor exactly, but both my husband and I just didn’t like it. And we love wings! For our main meals, I had the brisket grilled sandwich. The brisket was the fattiest cut i’ve ever seen — it was kind of gross. I’ve had amazing brisket in Texas, Memphis, and here in NC — and never have I seen a restaurant serve such a fatty cut of brisket. My husband got the chicken grilled sandwich w/bacon. He liked his sandwich although it was a bit plain. We both thought the fries which came with our sandwiches were super greasy and flavorless(besides the grease). We love the atmosphere here and the TVs are great for catching a sports game — but the food was just bad last night. Bummer.

I love my lunch dates with Holly B., but Quiet Pint was a miss for me this visit. The server was unfriendly — she didn’t introduce herself and she didn’t exude that«warm/welcoming/thank you for choosing to come here today» spirit. When my fabulous lunch companion asked about the specials, the server pointed at a board that was behind a customer sitting at the bar and out of our view. The caprese pizza looked delicious but was bland and unfulfilling. But, I tried Holly B.‘s Brussel Sprouts though, and they were fantastic. Quiet Pint is in a great location and has a lot of potential, but I hope they can improve their lunch service.

Quiet Pint is a frequent stop for my MBA classmates on Thursday nights after class. It’s nice because we frequently have a group of 5 – 8 and rarely have a hard time finding space to sit together. I appreciate their rotating beer selection. I can always find something that I haven’t tried before. On this most recent revisit it was a caramel/coconut brown ale. I liked it, but it turned out to be $ 7. I didn’t like it THAT much. The service is typically ok. Sometimes the server can go missing for periods. I’ve tried many of their food items. I find their flatbreads to be forgettable. The crust is too thin and they don’t have enough toppings on them. I had the fish tacos last time I was there and really enjoyed them. The black bean cake that comes with the tacos is really good. I think they have the best fries in Winston-Salem with delicious dipping sauces. We frequently tear through a fries appetizer in our post-class binge. We’ll definitely keep Quiet Pint in our post class rotation.

Quiet Pint has very good pub food and great appetizers, but is greatly lacking in the service department. I’ve been to QP twice now and have been extremely disappointed with the service both times, but have left with my belly happy on both occasions as well. I’m conflicted about this place. My mind says that my recent trip will be my last, but my stomach has different plans. QP is a pretty small place with a dark tavern vibe. Everything is dark from the wood of the tables to the lighting. That’s one thing that bothers me is that the lighting is turned down just a tad too far. There is very little seating inside and it can get rather loud and crowded on weekends, especially during the colder months since people don’t take as much advantage of the outdoor seating. During the summer months, the outdoor seating is a good option and they have a patio out front that can seat a few large parties. During the winter months, they have multiple fire pits out on the patio. Doesn’t put out enough heat for me to want to eat out there, but they do put out the nice scent of cedar. On my first visit to QP, I split a multitude of appetizers with some friends. We got the Bourbon Sausage Dip, El Loco Pollo Flatbread, BBQ Mac & Cheese, and the NC Crazy Fries. This is a great way to do a night here. Their choice of appetizers outshines their regular menu items. The standouts here for me were the flatbread and the BBQ Mac & Cheese. They have daily mac & cheese specials that give a creative spin to the classic dish. In addition to their appetizers, they have a create your own burger option. I’ve had the Classic Burger with the pimento cheese. I love me some pimento cheese and their’s is very good. It is spicier than most, which is definitely a good thing in my book. I’ve also had the burger with pepper jam and bacon. They go a little light on the pepper jam, but they make up for it with their crunchy bacon. The fries here are very good. They’ve got a nice crunch to them and remind me of the type of fries that you get at Five Guys. Now to the Service: in two words awkward and terrible. I’ve had two different waiters here and they both have done terrible jobs. The first waiter took our drink order right off the bat but took about 10 mins to actually bring them to us. This was just foreshadowing for the rest of the night. He continued to apologize to the point where it was annoying and just continued to talk about how busy he was. We looked up multiple times and saw him with his hands in his pockets leaned against the wall talking to other employees. The second waiter we had was equally as bad but less apologetic about it. Once we got our food and drinks we never saw him again(until the bills were brought out of course). He also forgot to put the bacon on my burger that I ordered. Once I politely asked him to make sure it wasn’t still on my bill, he just responded with okay. No apology. No nothing. Quiet Pint has good bar fare that will leave your stomach happy, but I’m not sure if its worth it to have to subject yourself to the terrible service and the apathetic employees. Also, for a place that calls themselves a tavern, they have an unimpressive craft beer selection.

Stopped in one Sunday night for a late night drink and dessert. I really like the interior look of the place. Huge slabs of wood for the bar and tables. Some large communal tables and some smaller tables. Very comfortable stools. Cool old fashioned filament light bulbs throughout. Bar tender was very attentive and the drink/late night menu was good for me. They had a couple of options for Scotch ales, which is always fine by me. We shared a greek yogurt based cheesecake, which I really enjoyed compared to traditional cheesecakes which I often find too heavy. I will be happy to return to check out the lunch and dinner menus. The only thing that left me scratching my head is where the name«Quiet Pint» came from. The background music was quite loud and they had a large fan running on one of the tables. Was anything but quiet.

Being a good resident of Ardmore, I have given this place many tries, but it seems that something is always off and this last visit was the nail in the coffin to move the QP to the category of «I may drink a beer here, but I am not getting food again.» We sat outside on the patio, which I have been looking forward to for months as I monitored the progress every time I drove by until it finally was completed a couple weeks ago. However, sitting out there was a bit of a disappointment as it was very buggy, lacked any greenery and seemed to mean that your waiter disappeared for long stretches of time. But I really could forgive anything for a tasty meal, however I was disappointed here too. I got a salad with Mahi mahi it that was so overlooked it seemed more like jerky than a filet of fish, but I gotta give a shout out to the hoisin dressing which was delicious. Main issue was the Mahi mahi sandwich which contained a piece of again over cooked fish about 2 in by 2 in on a huge bun. We had heard positive things about the black bean fritters, so didn’t blink when the waitress told us there would be a slight upcharge for including them as a side, however, we were very disappointed that the $ 2 upcharge only resulted in 3 tiny balls of black beans! There were other food issues at the table, including extremely greasy flatbreads with aggressive drizzles of a flavorless creamy white substance and a lackluster pretzel app. Taking a break from this place for a bit, but am hoping they can turn it around, because Ardmore residents deserve an awesome gastropub.
