The Carving Board is like a W-S institution that has a incredibly strong loyal following! I’ve never stopped in despite seeing the place packed consistently. My first impression had me wondering why the loyal following? It was a cluster you know what as they had no idea what they were doing! As you work your way up to the counter, you’re asked for your order, and if you have two parts to your order you’ll be passed in line by people behind you! You find yourself feeling as you’ve done something wrong and are in everyone else way! Once you sit down allis well! They have a ton of different incredible looking salads from which to choose. We got the salad trio plate to sample some of these. The Thai, Chicken, and Egg salads were each excellent spot on versions and a plentiful serving of each! The special sandwich of the day was Blackened Turkey with BLT on a good chewy roll! A side of their Tomato/Mozzarella salad was equally spot on! All said, I loved the food for a lighter fare, and would certainly come back despite the cluster that is the ordering system!

This is my first time ever eating at The Carving Board, and I have to say my experience was wonderful. When first walking in I had no idea what to order as the lineup of options is never ending. They can make anything you want. Wraps, sandwichs, soups, salads, you name it. The staff was so helpful, they pointed me in the right direction and helped me along the way. The portion size is perfect, just the right amount of food to fill you up but not make you miserable. My favorite part is the options of having a bowl of fruit as a side vs greasy frise, I will take that any day. Needless to say this will not be the last time I eat here as its a top notch place where you can just come and relax and eat in peace. Very nicely done.

This place is delicious! I usually get the 3 salad plate with chicken salad, mixed fruit salad and the dill potato salad. I love how fresh and flavorful each item is. I have also had their sandwiches which are huge, but made right in front of you. The attention to detail and customer service make this place worth the price to me. I will say I recommend dining early because they tend to get busy very quickly. The servings definitely are more than plenty too.

In there for lunch to go. Order the pastrami Reuben and macaroni salad. Both were very good. The sandwich was piled high with very lean pastrami, coleslaw, and thousand island dressing. It was very good. The mac salad was tasty, different from what I would make at home. It dd have bell peppers, which added a little zest.

I have finally brave the long lunch line at this place. Don’t be intimidated by the line it does move fast! I ate the spicy sesame noodles and a half a roast beef sandwich. The roast beef was really good, it i wasn’t the super process stuff that you can buy from the store. The spicy sesame noodles were tasty but I thought they could use a little salt to bring out the flavor more. I did try the carrot cake and it was moist!

The female employees are not nice to female customers. walk away and not come back in middle of wait on me, talk back rude, interrupt, not volunteer to much for the customer, and yell at customers. Notice the male customers get better treatment than the female customers. I have had the people who clean up the tables. talk back rude, and walk in front of me and tried to step on my foot. Have had problems getting the tables. The restaurant is dirty and not busy. and the employees will not clean up the restaurant. the food is good. and get early because the restaurant gets busy. Get a good value portion. The female employees keep repeating the same question. Had to ask them to stop trying to start fights with me. I had to ask some of the female employees to go away and ask the manager to get another employee wait on me. I not go to the restaurant much. Maybe once a year

This place has some nice offerings, and I’m really liking the choices here. Stopped in this week for a couple of Slices of Quiche Lorraine, a Mexican style Pasta Salad, and a Spinach based salad — all were excellent. Only down side is it gets busy, and lines can form, and the staff here is efficient but not especially warm and fuzzy.

First off, the food here is yummy. This is not up for debate. Second, the line is crazy long at lunch, order ahead or be prepared to wait at least 20mins just to order. The employees are nice but slower than cold molasses. Third, the prices feel high to me. It is basically mayo based salads and deli meat. Yes there are a ton of salad to choose from but the majority are different ingredients doused in mayo. Also it is worthwhile to mention that they allow a lot of creativity in sandwich compilation but you will be charged accordingly. They have tons of ingredients and will put together whatever it is that your heart desires. The best deal seems to be the 3 salad lunch. I got a croissant sandwich with a side of potato salad and a tea for 14 $+.

We stopped there for lunch. Everything was quite excellent. Delicious, fresh food. If I could assign a fractional rating, I’d give it a 4.5! We’ll be back!!!

I decided to visit the Carving Board after hearing good things. Boy was I disappointed. I ordered the turkey breast sandwich with cheddar, cranberry sauce, and mayo along with a side of the Greek salad. These two things cost a whopping $ 12. I don’t mind paying for good food, but this wasn’t it. The sandwich was on french bread which was hard as a rock. The cranberry sauce was bland and had no flavor as well as the turkey. All you could taste was the cheddar and the huge glop of mayo. I literally took one bite and could not convince myself to take another. As for the Greek salad, it lacked the flavorful taste of olive oil, pepper and salt that a good Greek salad has. The salad was overly soggy and the only taste was feta. Huge disappointment. Overall, the Carving Board is severely overpriced for subpar food. I for one will not be going back.

Really awesome food. I love eating there. The long lines and the food being a bit pricey is ok, I’ll keep coming back because the food is GOOD!

My favorite deli in town. A little pricey but worth it for the high quality of food. Long lines at lunch and sometimes the staff aren’t as friendly as they could be. Could use a bigger space as sometimes you have to wait for a seat. Love love.

Super casual and a step above your average deli. They have a whole case of unique and traditional salads and pre-made dishes that are convenient to grab on the go. Really fresh ingredients and a large variety. They have an array of sandwiches and at least 3 soups available. The prices are very reasonable and the service was expedient and friendly. Ideal if you are looking to grab something quick for yourself or take a tray of food to a party. The location is a little hidden and not easy to navigate to, but it’s worth the search!

Love, love, love this place. Their salads are always good and fresh. My husband says the roast beef and provolone sandwich is the best he’s ever had. I just tried the quiche, and it was delicious. We will be moving away from W-S soon, and this will be one of the few restaurants here that I will miss. Whenever I’m up in the W-S area, I will definitely be stopping here for lunch.

If it was just about the food, I’d give it 5 stars! Wow is this place yummy and totally worth the wait(sometimes there is a long line and it’s located in a pretty busy shopping center). I highly recommend the Oriental Chicken Salad and Three Salad Plate. My one wish is that they’d update the space and seats/tables a bit. Staff is very friendly while also being efficient in getting folks served. LOVE this place!

Yum! I really enjoyed the vegetarian(which has avocado, carrot, cucumber, apples) sandwich and do get the provolone cheese with it! If you have a student ID, you can get a discount.

Why have I not tried this place before??? Wow! We have gone twice now and the food is outstanding. The sandwiches are awesome, I had the turkey, provolone with roasted peppers and balsamic– sooo good! Husband loves the chicken salad with BLT. I would venture to say the best chicken salad I have had in a long time. The sides are good as well as desserts. The salads look awesome and huge! If you are craving a good sandwich, this is the place. They cook everything in house, including meats– they slice them right there! You. An take anything to go and they sell sides and salads by the lb. this is a new favorite of ours. It is sort of like a cafeteria, but nicer.

What I love about Carving board is that there are lot of options and they are all in front of you to see — no more wondering what their chicken salad or their spinach apple bacon salad look like. I have come here a few times for lunch. Once at noon and another time around 1:30PM. It definitely was super crowded at noon. I highly recommend ordering ahead and picking up, for those of you with more foresight than me. If you don’t pre-order, then you stand in a long line(at least at prime lunch time) until it is your turn to order. Then as you order and continue down the line, it is just a matter of keeping sights on the staff member who is making your sandwich or preparing your other food items. The whole ordering process is a little chaotic but still manageable. My first time I came here, I ordered a pastrami rueben and spinach/apple/bacon salad. The rye bread is a standard loaf bread which didn’t have a lot of caraway seed punch, but the meat, cheese, and sauce were great. I loved the salad and found it very refreshing. The second visit, I ordered the chicken salad sandwich on a roll. Great bread but the chicken salad was wanting in flavor. The seating gets pretty full here, so I recommend picking up your food and taking it to some other scenic place to eat. Parking is also a little hectic as the Thruway Center gets very busy. I recommend parking across the street and then walking over. Overall, great place to get a sandwich or hearty salad at lunch with some friends or coworkers, but expect a long line.

I decided to try the Carving Board today after hearing about it from some fellow Unilocalers. I wasn’t disappointed! I like that they offer a soup and half sandwich option and their salad selection is abundant. Getting there from my work is a catastrophe since there is always a lot of traffic on Stratford and in the shopping center. As expected, it was very busy around lunch time. I was discouraged by the long line but it moved pretty quickly. Most of the service was good, but nothing stood out as extraordinary. The lady who made my sandwich did not seem too enthused to be at work, but I won’t let that detract from the experience too much. They were super efficient though. I got the vegetarian on sourdough and the crab cheddar chowder. I loved the sandwich. A lot of places make a boring vegetarian sandwich that isn’t too appetizing, but the unique combination of carrots and avocados made this one exciting! The portion size was perfect, although it was a bit pricey. The soup was underwhelming. I guess since it’s a chowder it’s not supposed to be very flavorful but I guess I figured they would spice it up a bit since it had crab and cheddar. I could barely taste any cheddar and the crab was flavorless. There were too many potatoes. I will have to try something else soup-wise next time. The quality of the sandwich totally made up for the soup disappointment. I think more seating would be a better idea, or possibly rearranged seating. There were a lot of big tables, but there was nowhere for a solo diner or a party of two to sit and not be awkwardly close to strangers. Even though I don’t eat meat, I thought the meatloaf cordon-bleu looked really good and was a creative spin on meatloaf. If I ate meat, I would definitely give it a try. Overall, I really do like the food options they have here and I’d love to try the three salad platter next time I come in!

I am a fan of the Craving Board. The biggest downfall is the wait when you go for lunch. The line is long, people are blocking the counters so you can’t see, and you aren’t quite sure where your sandwich maker went. I am not a big sandwich person but if I do feel like one I definitely go here. You really can’t go wrong! the sides are all really good too, my favorite is the potato salad. For dessert I always try and grab a lemon bar if available. If you go to their website you can check out what they are serving up for dinner. It is an awesome option if you just want to grab something for the fam but don’t feel like going out to eat. The service is always friendly and they do try and get you out of there as soon as they can. Bonus they serve IBC Cream Soda!
