Visited from out of town and got food to go. Had the house salad with ginger dressing, Miso soup and the NC deluxe roll. The soup was amazing, it was really rich in flavor and I loved it! Ginger dressing was good as well. The NC Deluxe roll had a great flavor however, it had tempura shrimp on the inside and I got the feeling that the shrimp was pre fried earlier in the night. It was not horrible but was not really warm and had that old fried texture. The roll was just ok however I will for sure be back and try some of the other rolls they have to offer!

I eat sushi all the time and was disappointed by this restaurant. My sushi roll had raw fish on top and the fish didn’t taste right and was warm.

This place is really hard to measure and describe, yet eating here really made me miss Oriental Café, the location that used to take its place. First off the inside hasn’t changed much. Our waiter was weird but attentive enough. My biggest disappointment was in the sushi overall. Started off with a crab roll. Simple but the crab didn’t taste real. They also charge extra if you want another sauce other than soy that’s already on the table. Kimono soy sauce was the brand and I’m glad they had the less saltier version but man does both varieties over do it with the salt. Then we ordered the highway 66 roll and volcano roll. Highway didn’t taste very good. The volcano was my favorite of all of them but did have too much of the crusty fish shavings(name eludes me right now). Finally we ordered the Playboy roll. Honestly it tasted no different than the volcano roll so I was a bit disappointed. Overall hard to recommend this place as their prices match other places in the area. They were running a 30% special off all of their rolls which is the only reason I’m giving them two stars. Would not recommend

I was so thrilled to eat here the day they opened and have continued to return! They have both Japanese cuisine, but also have amazing and fresh sushi! They make the sushi to order and I love seeing the chef prepare it. They always add a sample of something to try based on what I’ve ordered for future possibilities too! The overall restaurant is very clean and peaceful. I usually order take out, but have dined there also. The staff is very helpful if you have questions about the sushi because it can seem overwhelming at a glance. The prices are very nice and the quality is beyond my expectations! So today to try something new for me with Japanese food… Bento Box! They make your meal and serve it in separate ramekin dishes and then place them neatly on a tray. For me, this was a dream because I don’t like my food to touch LOL but the variety and ability to build a custom lunch combo is exceptional! You have salad, fried or steamed rice, choice of protein, stir fried vegetables, and 2 sides(California rolls, tempura vegetables, or Gyoza beef dumplings). I chose Hibachi steak, fried rice, salad, vegetables, and then Gyoza and California rolls for my sides. This was amazing! The meat was tender and seasoned, the Gyoza were very tender, not greasy and filled w beef, the rolls were freshly made to order! The salad was pretty basic with lettuce, carrots and ranch. The fried rice was very simple and I felt needed a little salt for flavor. However, this is now my new favorite dish! My stepdaughter also had a Bento Box with Teriyaki Chicken, fried rice, vegetables, salad, and Gyoza dumplings for both sides! The décor has a very open, fresh feel and high ceilings. They have circle stained glass hanging which I truly love! The name had been Osaka before, but has changed to US Sushi now and they’re located beside Chuck-E-Cheese on Hanes Mall Blvd. they now serve Foothills beer too! The best was my to-go box was built like the Bento Box so my leftovers were just as great!

Is this serious? I was told by a coworker the sushi was a good price and tasted good. I walked in and no one was there to greet me. The layout and the ambience is lackluster to say the least. How do they stay in business? It looked like a dump inside with no character. My waitress was nice and friendly but bugged me to no end asking me every 3 minutes how it was going. The server is the only reason why I gave 2 stars or else it would be 1 star. Food: I think everything I had was fake or imitation fish besides the rice. My sushi rolls were awful. I finished my food because I was starving but afraid I wasn’t going to wake up the next day to write this review. I sat at the sushi bar and saw fake crab sticks all over and the sushi chef wearing no gloves on someone’s order. If anyone goes here, good luck because this place is not real sushi, I’m not sure what I ate. Disappointed in another Winston establishment. Never ever in my life going in there again. I’m just thankful I am alive to write this epic review.

Sushi is really good. I usually go to the one in High Point, eventhough it’s not the same owner, the quality is good & the service is good. I’ve never had a problem with them. Glad there’s one in Winston! For a limited time they have sushi for HALFOFF Mon-Thurs. Better take advantage before they change it to 30% starting in June or July.

It was my first time being there and it will probably be my last. The place has nice décor. Our waitress was fine, she was attentive and nice. Everything was ok except, I didn’t really enjoy the food. I got sushi(spider roll, samurai roll, fusion roll, and crispy roll). Firstly, there was too much tempura flakes dumped on to the sushi rolls. It was not presentable. It was practically a huge plate of tempura flakes. The rolls were falling apart. My brother ordered an entrée, the toridon. It was chicken with scrambled eggs laid on top of rice. It said on the menu that the meal came with a choice of a soup or salad but our server had forgotten about it and didn’t bring anything to my brother. By the time my brother and I realized he didn’t get his soup or salad we were done eating and didn’t really care for it. That entrée was tasteless. My experience there wasn’t bad but I just wouldn’t choose to come back.

Very good sushi. Service was good not great. Manager very attentive. Only complaint is that the Sushi Chef’s did not know how to make a classic dish, Kani salad. Otherwise everything was good. Would recommend this spot for sushi

I travel a lot and if I get a chance to eat sushi I go for it. I’m on the road so I want something healthy. I pulled into US Sushi for lunch around 1:30p(the receipt says Osaka Japanese cuisine and sushi bar not sure what the restaurant’s name is). I first get in and the waitress takes me to a table. It’s pretty empty. Before I even get a chance to sit down she asks what do I want to drink? I give her my order & go to the ladies room and come back. The minute I sat down the waitress,(bubbly, young & inexperienced obviously), immediately asked if I knew what I wanted to order? I JUSTSATDOWN. I have no information about specials, her name, I have no information about anything. I asked her to please move me to the sushi bar. Usually I get asked if I would like to sit at the sushi bar if its open I don’t know why it was not a choice. I’m looking at the menu and she comes back in maybe 2 minutes and asks if I know what I want & serves my tea. I asked her to come back, she comes back(no kidding 60 seconds later). Then another minute later then it is just got to be ridiculous. I look on the menu for lunch specials. Oddly, the guy sitting next to me at the sushi bar tells me that he doesn’t know if it’s going to make a difference but they have the sushi specials@@ half price. He said he didn’t know about it until it was too late. His waitress didn’t tell him either. The sushi was awful. Not fresh. Tasteless, worst sushi ever. I can get better sushi at Harris Teeter. Maybe that is why it was ½ price? Get rid of the old sushi. Summing it up bad waitress. Terrible sushi. At least the green tea was hot.

My wife and I eat a ton of sushi. We are happy to add US Sushi as one of the best sushi houses we’ve tried. This is after one visit but we will go back again and again. Tonight my wife and I were headed to chaperone the high school prom and decided sushi for dinner which I’m glad we did. The décor was new and very clean. They took the great ceiling accents of the restaurant before them and added their touch. The lighting was good and the music was good. My wife and I were able to relax. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. I wish I remembered our waiter’s name. He was fantastic. Our chef was also very good as the sushi came out quickly and exactly like we ordered. Which brings me to the sushi. My wife and I are fans of tuna, eel, octopus and spicy. All our sushi was along those lines. My wife enjoyed the octopus. The tuna sushi was incredibly fresh and had good portions. The Gukan spicy tuna sushi was perfect: spicy and fresh. For the rolls we had an eel one and two spicy tunas. They were great. The waiter also suggested the Godzilla roll and he was right, it was good. There’s something about the rolls everyone should know. If you are not a fan of tempura you at not like the rolls. The cooked and raw rolls seemed to have a lot of tempura around it. My wife and I were fine with it but I can see someone not liking all the«bread» as someone reviewed earlier. All in all the sushi was absolutely wonderful. The cost was a bit more than we are used to paying. It’s because we got more sushi and sashimi than normal. As my wife and I looked at the check we both agreed the food was worth it. In conclusion, this was a pleasant experience and we will be coming back. I’ll also recommend US Sushi to all our friends. Now if I could only remember my waiter’s name so I ask for him next time.

Overall I had a great meal here. The service was prompt and very polite. The beer and wine list was very reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was nice although I could do without the tv’s. The food was a great value too although I heard the half-price sushi roll deal was only through March 2015. The spicy tuna roll was very good with lots of fish inside. The bizarre part was the special«crunch» rolls. Elsewhere this means a little bit of panko mixed in — here it means a huge pile of bread crumbs on top of the roll with little fish bits mixed in. The crumbs fall off in the soy sauce dish until it’s soy sludge. I prefer my special rolls to have slices of fish on top, but to each her own.
