Saw Tyler, The Creator here in June. Phenomenal show. Good and nice security too. Prices for tickets here are good because Ticketmaster is not the sponsor. Great sound quality too. Pretty small place, but the performers usually are not that big from what I see online. Has a second floor too. Only thing I wish is that they would offer cups of water. A friend and I were so thirsty and they only had beer. Also no paper towels in bathroom, an essential for wiping yourself down after getting sweaty. Had to use toilet paper. I would definitely make the hour and half drive to come here again though.

Poor planning of oversold events. Pre-purchased tickets and still had to wait in line. Did not get in. Will have to do a charge back on credit card. They bring good bands, but very unorganized and crappy venue.

First time I have been since they opened the new location. Hands down better. Was here for Animals as Leaders and BTBAM and I feel the venue made for an appropriate show. Prices were ridiculous but no more so than any other concert. Glad to see more venues popping up in the triad with as many amazing musicians as we have.

Awesome venue for live music. It’s small so there isn’t a bad spot in the place. I love that I am able to be so close to the band. The drinks are reasonably priced and the staff is what you expect for a music venue. I will definitely be making the trip to NC for a concert again!

Have to agree with Grayson, not at all friendly to DDs. Sound quality has improved over the years but it’s still an awkward venue. If you go outside to the little patio area, prepare to inhale cigarette smoke, there’s no designated smoking area and this is really the only place to have a seat. There is a place upstairs with more seating, but the staff made us feel we were not welcome up there. There are no signs saying vip only or anything of that nature, so we were a little offended, as my dad is disabled and needs to sit every so often. Bartenders and bouncers WERE friendly, contrary to other reviews

Ziggys has a great history. Many great performances over the years have occurred leaving very happy concert goers. The OLD ziggys had a great feeling about it. Small, rustic, comfortable. The new building is great for seeing bands but it lacks the atmosphere. Anyway, great music and good times at Ziggys

The decidedly mixed reviews made me wary, but my first time at Ziggy’s was encouraging. Make no mistake about it, though: this is a small, bare-bones club. There is a stage at the front, bar areas on the sides and at the back, a balcony atop, and an open floor in between. Depending on the drawing power of the artist, that floor can fill up quickly, so brace yourself. Clutch was playing during my visit, and a no moshing rule was in effect. To the benefit of everyone’s safety(seeing«The Mob Goes Wild» turn literal in a space that small would have been ugly), security was good about enforcing it. The acoustics for the show were better than expected(read: everything was sufficiently loud), and there were no unforeseen delays. Even parking was a cinch. Based on my initial experience, I will keep my eye out for future concerts here. As long as you know what to expect from it, Ziggy’s seems like a fine spot to catch a show.

Rude sound employees and horrible management. Canceled our benefit concert because we weren’t making money and they still charged us. I will never be recommending this place or going to this place again. Don’t buy into their advertising. They won’t do it unless you’re a big band. Their motto is apparently fuck the little guys. Embarrassing

Winston Salem’s answer to Carrboro’s Cat’s Cradle. A classic venue that meets the definition of hole in a wall. Overall, great lighting, sound, and just a lot of fun to be there. It’s surprisingly social and you can meet a lot of cool, friendly people there. Zero issues with the service. Everyone who worked there was nice and helpful. Parking is ridiculously easy. Drinks were more or less fairly priced. In retrospect, it sounds like a paradox in which the venue isn’t perfect, but it’s just awesome enough to be perfect.

Hole in the wall venue with great drink prices and friendly staff. Not really located in the best part of town however there is super convenient FREE parking all along-side the venue.

Consistently awful venue. Bad sound, bad atmosphere, all around bad place. Like so many, I wanted the new Ziggy’s to be good, but it is powerfully bad.

The venue said doors at 7 show at 8, I arrive at 7:20 to a very long line as that is understandable due to so many people coming to the show. I did think they where a little slow as they hardly checked ID’s took your tix and threw it in the trash. They didn’t even scan it or anything. However, the show had already started by the time I had arrived. Staff members then started going to the back of the line asking for $ 5 to skip ahead. The venue has some good ideas such has having TVs showing the show in many places for those that can’t get a good view. The sound was poorly mixed and one guitar was a lot louder than another, if it wasn’t that then the vox were to low. Always something. The beer prices weren’t very bad but they aren’t good either. The bartenders(all females) were nice. The bouncers(all large men not muscle just over weight about 300 +) on the other hand were a joke. They pick on people smaller than them and try to intimidate them even push and choke them. They try to instigate fights with customers. At one point they kicked someone out then three bouncers ganged up on one guy who weighted 150 max got in his face and begged for a fight even pushing and choking him. When someone told them what they are doing is uncalled for they then started to cuss them out and kicked them out as well. They then said its our property and we can do whatever we want. Go here if you want to be assaulted by the bouncers. I encourage no one to ever go here. They don’t treat paying customers with respect. I would rather drive 6+ hours to Atlanta than ever go back here again.

Okay venue. The sound wasn’t that great. The staff is HORRIBLE especially the ‘bouncers’. They threatened innocent people & abused their power. They told people they would KILL them & then one started choking someone! Insane! How does management ignore that? Also, they have TV screens for you to see the stage, but they were all blurry. Not clear at all, especially the one at the top. Never again.

Have been here a few times and enjoyed it every time. Went once with my friend in a wheelchair and they really catered to him and there was easy access for him to get all around. The only negative I have is that there isn’t much parking and if you don’t get there early your going to have to walk a long way.

Wow! This place promoted an intimate club show with R Kelly and then when he appeared but did not in fact perform they are saying they did not promote that he was performing. This is underhanded and dishonest to your customers. I was originally glad to see Ziggy’s return to Winston, but the town does not need an establishment that dupes it’s clients and won’t own up to it when they are called out. Deleting critical comments on your Facebook page instead of responding professionally is cowardly. Needs better parking and security.

I have to say that I LOVE this place. Truly a rare find in almost any city, but especially Winston Salem. They have good sound quality and seem to cater to their clientele. You can pay for the shows grab a drink and hang out with Friends all while meeting new folks. Everyone here always seems so mellow and relaxed and I cant think of a time that I have witnessed a problem. This place reminds me of The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC. If you have been there you will know what I am talking about. My favorite thing is that the restroom can accommodate multiple people so you are not waiting all day to use it and missing the show you paid for.

I was at Ziggy’s on Saturday night for Who’s Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute Band. Ziggy’s is a great venue. Sound quality is fantastic and drinks are reasonable. I like that they have a separate bar area if you don’t want to pay for the show. It is especially nice during the Spring, Summer, Fall when they roll up the garage doors. Looking forward to going back for another show.

Had a great time here seeing Sebastian Bach… complaints? They said the doors would open at 7 and the show would begin at 8. The night we were there it was raining and the doors didn’t open until 7:30 and the show didn’t start until 9. We found this very irritating.

«Dude, Ziggy’s rocks!» Those words came from my buddy, a fellow transplant who spent a good portion of his twenties hanging out in places like Red Rocks, the Oregon Country Fair, and the Fillmore in SF, seeing bands like Phish, the Dead, moe, and Galactic. So he knows a thing or two about seeing live shows. Since Ziggy’s re-opened, I’ve been to a few shows. The venue is solid — bigger than you’d expect, yet small enough that every show felt intimate and unique. The balcony is cool, but unless you are on the railing or in the second row, you won’t see much of the stage. On the main floor, you are never more than 50 feet from the band. They’ve got a pretty badass lighting system. Good beers were 4 bucks, cocktails were 6. Totally reasonable. Rock on!!!
