Went here today and had a simple, fantastic time. Got to Tao Asian at about 6pm and, while it wasn’t crowded, the restaurant is VERY small. Like, 5 booths, 4 tables, and a bar to order at small. They have a special from 4−7pm for $ 3.50/roll of sushi. There’s a paper to mark off how many of whichever rolls you would like, so don’t fret that you’ll eye one on the menu and be disappointed it’s not in on the happy hour. My boyfriend and I ordered 2 dynamite rolls, a spider roll, a Ft Myers roll, a French roll, and a Spicy Tuna roll.(From left to right in my photo) Now the piece of paper you use to order says«4 to 6 pieces per roll» so we ordered 3 rolls each thinking the portions would be small. NOPE. We got between 6 – 8 pieces per roll, so I don’t know if that’s the norm or what was happening, but they were big rolls originally priced at ~$ 8 so I definitely left feeling I got the bang for our buck. Going out for sushi and getting actually full for $ 22? Not bad. The dynamite roll was our favorite. The service was minimal, but definitely well intentioned. When we came in, there was only one booth available and the hostess asked if we would sit at a table in case a big party came in, and when we said yes, she was surprised/excited? Our server explained which roll was which. Overall, nothing groundbreaking, but a great time. More of a 4.5 than a 4.

Went in there. Wasn’t that busy. Asked for a booth in with the only had on left. There was 3 of us. They explained they wanted to save it for the people that had 5 or 6 in their party. I explained in was there and my son is a 6’2 baseball player and my daughter is a 14 year olé 5’11 volleyball player. Plenty of regular 4 tops if a larger group came in. I explained I was taking home for 4 more too. They let me walk out. Must be doing really week to let 7 orders leave. And the owner was standing right there!

Tonight, we ordered the veggie thai panang curry and checken lo mein. Not sure if it was an off night, but the food quality just wasn’t as good as the other dishes we have had here. I recommend ordering a different dish. Despite the not as stellar taste, they still had GREAT service when we picked up the order!

This place was surprisingly good! Had the kung pow chick extra spicy and brother had the General Tao. Both were really good. Happy hour specials are decent, Got one item off of that menu, the spicy tuna wrap which was good. Overall the better of the 2 Chinese restaurants in the area! Will be back.

I had the roll lunch special. Any place that does sweet potato sushi well is my favorite sushi place. Prices were really reasonable. Especially the lunch choices and the sides that come with them. I like the location, easy to get in and out of. Friendly staff.

Food is ok. Their house salad was awful. No one at our table was able to eat it because their house dressing tasted like pure ginger. I ordered a sushi roll and asked for a small side of the spicy mayo. They said that would cost me $ 1.00 extra. That’s like making you pay extra for soy sauce or ketchup. Come on people, don’t nickel and dime your customers! My friend told me that she went there during their happy hour once. She wasn’t able to finish what she ordered so she wanted to take it home and they wouldn’t let her. The owners don’t know how to run a good restaurant.

Best Asian restaurant in town by far! Very reasonable priced and the sesame chicken will make you go «DAYUM!» My only complaint is that one of the waitresses was extremely rude which was a turn off to eating at the restaurant. After that experience I only did takeout.

Living in orlando for 5+ years, I can say that this is the best Asian spot in town! Sushi happy hour is priced at $ 3.50(08⁄15) and the amount of rolls(6 – 8) is absolutely worth it! Not only that, but it tastes amazing! I always recommend the dynamite roll & the golden age roll to anyone who comes here for the first time, & it never fails when they become obsessed! Deff a spot to check out if you’re in the area(heck even go out of your way to get there lol)

Tonight I took advantage of the sushi. I had two rolls from the happy hour menu and they were solid. Also, ordered the red dragon and was very pressed. Not much good sushi over on this side of town so I’m happy to know it’s here.

This place has an excellent location(for me) and the food is good. I want to rate them higher but the customer service continues to be a big miss. They are very strict on their menu and do not allow flexibility when it comes to simple modifications other restaurants will gladly tweak for you. My latest order was for lunch, where I wanted lemon chicken. They told me they do not offer lemon chicken for lunch… only dinner(portion). I asked, since they apparently do make lemon chicken at lunch even though it’s not on the menu, if I could get a lunch portion. The answer was«no». I went ahead and ordered the dinner lemon chicken to only find out they do not offer the accompanying sides like they do at dinner(no egg roll, soup, etc). I received only chicken and rice. They also continue to not be kid-friendly. I guess I’ll need to join the rest of my neighbors and go elsewhere for Asian food.

Huge menu, great prices. Good sushi in an otherwise bland part of suburbia. Stopped in for happy hour and will return. Can’t beat $ 3.50 each for rolls and wine.

Wow… the only word I have to say about dinner tonight. My family came at around 6 and were seated right away. We ordered about 11 rolls from the happy hour menu and some other things from the dinner menu. Our server came around and asked us what drinks we wanted and we told him. He came back 10 minutes later with the drinks… wow. Then we ordered the food. We waiting for almost an hour for our sushi to come out. My parents got so frustrated and bored, my dad had to go outside and walk around for a little bit. When the sushi finally came, we destroyed it because of how hungry we got while waiting. I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy leaving a restaurant after tonight. Order take out or delivery during happy hour or else you’ll be in the restaurant for a good 2 hours waiting on your meal.

Solidly decent Chinese food. We order delivery frequently, and get a decent deal for the money.

The food was good. The servers were friendly. Prices are a bit on the high end especially with the use of «krab.» the single defining factor of my 2 star rating, though, was the food and especially the sushi prep time which was well over an hour. We thought they had completely forgotten our order at one point, but it just turns out they were stupidly, frustratingly, insanely slow!!!

It’s not the best sushi I’ve ever had, but it’s not the worst, either. Went for the happy hour sushi. The amount of rolls they had on their happy hour menu was a pretty decent selection. I decided to try the dynamite roll, spider roll, shrimp tempura roll, and a California roll. All were pretty decent, but my dynamite roll was absolutely swimming in sauce and you couldn’t taste anything else in it. My biggest thing is the rice was super gummy and mushy in the rolls. It made them have a pretty off putting texture… Flavor wise they weren’t bad though. Also, be aware their happy hour rolls are pretty small — a lot smaller if you were to just order them off the menu. Overall, I’d go back. I definitely want to try some of their other entrees — those eating them around us looked(and smelled) delicious!

Tao Asian… It’s my go to place for sushi on this side of town. I don’t often order off the sushi menu. They have a happy hour as described in other reviews, but it is also the busiest during those times. They also have a lunch special, which is pretty reasonable. FOOD(4⁄5): I like the sushi. After the disastrous results of dining at other restaurants, I know I can count on good food. The rolls are a bit smaller, unless you’re ordering a more expensive roll. Makes sense. If you pay less, you get less. Their miso soup is pretty standard. My husband ordered Pad Thai from here, and I wouldn’t necessarily order it myself. He enjoyed it. SERVICE(4⁄5): It honestly depends on who you get. I think the owner is one of the servers, and she is a riot. Mind you, she doesn’t exactly censor herself, but if you want a quiet meal, she usually picks up on that. My friends and I enjoyed joking with her. ATMOSPHERE(4⁄5): It is a bit small with about six or seven booths, a few tables, and seating at the sushi bar. There’s a TV mounted on the wall. One thing they’ve added is a sort of fencing to the front against the glass. I’m not sure if that’s to prevent kids from leaving fingerprints, but it really detracts from an otherwise pleasing atmosphere. I’d definitely give this place a try if you’re new to the area. There’s a lot of regular customers, and it’s easily the best Asian cuisine for about 20 minutes.

Taking forever with a to go order. Ordered an hour ago and still sitting here waiting for my order. Took 10 min. To be acknowledged when I walked in the door. Should have just left at that point.

This neighborhood Asian restaurant has a menu larger than their storefront! There are an incredible number of pages of Chinese, Japanese and other Asian foods. We had mostly sushi, which was all good. The sashimi dishes are particularly creative. The Pad Thai was also very good. Hot and sour soup was a standout and the spring rolls were good, too. They do a busy Chinese takeout business, but it’s also a pleasant place to eat in. Service was pleasant and efficient. I can’t imagine how their kitchen can turn out so many different things. No beer or wine.

Got in early enough to get in on their sushi happy hour. Let me just say the price was worth the roll we got. The MuShu Pork was great. No issues with the food or service. Loo is spotless, if you were wonderin’. Will be back!
