Manny’s Original Chophouse

This is the one and only thin I really miss about Winter Haven. I absolutely loved the salad, bread and of course the steak. If you are in town visiting LEGOLAND definitely visit this restaurant. Extremely cheap beer as well!

Always good at Mannys. Great Sangria, steak, salad and bread! Usually great service, just very busy on Wednesdays.

We ate dinner there last night, and it was great. I had the ribs and my wife had the prime rib, both were excellent. Our only complaint was being cold, a/​c temp was to low for us. Our server was great, prompt and funny. We will definitely be going back on our next trip to Legoland.

I have enjoyed going to this restaurant in the past but my family’s recent experience was sub-​par. The tables at this establishment were seated so closely that as we were having our salads and appetizers, other customers had to squeezes in between the tables so there were both purses and buttocks on our table and in our area. We had to send one of the appetizer plates back because there was still some food remnants on the plate. I ordered my steak medium well. Although the steak came with the plastic tab that had «medium well» it was well done and dry. The waitress was apologetic and reordered the steak which came out well done again and dry despite the fact that there was some sort of gravely on the steak.
I was really disappointed with this visit.

Love the cool atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu. The restaurant was very clean and the food was amazing.

We have been here too many times to count and never have we been let down. yes the first time we went the wait time was a shock but learned really fast during the winter months when the snow birds were here to call ahead otherwise the wait is a nightmare and like mentioned in other reviews can be 2 hrs. Hands down the best is the prime rib with the au jus i dont care for horseradish so I always order extra au jus, and my favorite side is the black beans and rice they are so good, and my toddler now steals mine so now I have to order an extra side otherwise I will not get any. We always love the rolls, and the butter is so great! The salad is good i always pick out the peppers and tomatoes for my husband but it has a great dressing. The chicken fried steak is normally what my hubby orders and it is delicious even as left overs! Can not say anything bad about manny’s once you realize the time wait. It is usually a loud place but it really just reminds me of any other road house type with the noise level but really so worth it!

I was charged for a burnt steak when I ordered medium, mashed potatoes swimming in grease. I didn’t touch my food. Our server offered nothing for then inconvenience. Customer service was horrible, didn’t get a refill until the end of the meal so it had to be in a togo cup. First time visit, and I can’t see what all the fuss is about. I wasn’t expecting Capitol grill but was expecting something edible. Maybe winter haven has yet to experience a good steak so they are convinced this is good food? Bleh!

We ordered filets and were absolutely NOT given that cut of meat. Basically the server told us that the meat we received was what the owner called filets. The server indicated that she knew it wasn’t actually a filet and was apologetic. I feel like it’s flat out fraud to charge for one product and slip your customers an inferior product. The restaurant was loud and messy. We will not be going back.

Great experience! Food was great server was friendly, didn’t have to wait long for a seat. Food came out very quickly. I was actually quite surprised as it was packed and I figured that the kitchen would be backed up but not at all. All meals come with endless chopped salads that are served and mixed right in front of you in a huge metal bowl. The yeast rolls are warm and delicious they are also served with cinnamon butter. Totally couldn’t stop eating them! Very addicting! I ended up getting a sirloin with fries and it was grilled to perfection! Very pleased with my random stop. Totally worth it! Prices are super cheap and reasonable. They even have lunch specials but they aren’t valid on weekends. Doesn’t make too much of a difference its only like a dollar or so more. Definitely would recommend this location and will definitely try the others!

Very disappointed. We were told that they have the rack of lamp, 15 minutes later after we ordered they said they ran out of them. Manager came and said they shouldn’t have told you that we have them on menu and only the cook will know we drove around 50 because a friend recommended the restaurant.

Love love love this place! Everything we ate was perfection and all 4 kids turned dessert DOWN because they loved their dinners so much they saved no room for it. Hell has frozen over!
Very casual, comfortable atmosphere and great service. Highly recommend!
Get the cheese fries!

Manny’s had been our favorite restaurant until today. Party of 3 We were seated in a booth at the back by the wall and My son said there’s something crawling behind you I jumped up and moved to a chair on the other side of the table. Then there they were again 2 cockroaches crawling along the backside of the booth seat. Manager came out said we can move you to another table we just sprayed for cockroaches so they are probably coming out now. NO table available to move too. We were given a 1– half piece of cake maybe to keep us quiet? Beware of your surroundings when eating out!

I’ve known Manny since he started his restaurant in Haines City. (Worked for him briefly)
Great concept at the beginning and good food.
But now that it has grown most of his outlets are too busy for comfort.
If you don’t use «call ahead seating» the hostesses make you feel like an idiot.
2 hour waits are typical.
Food is still good but lack the casual and comfortable atmosphere that his business use to provide.
He is still a great guy but you never see him any more.
Don’t go unless you call ahead and can tolerate mass confusion.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING … This place is literally next door to our hotel and had we tried it sooner we would have eaten there everyday we were here! Friendly staff great environment for kids food was Delish !

Good was excellent. Service not so much but thank goodness the delicious food made up for it. I had the New York strip and surprisingly it was one of the best steaks I’ve had. Cooked perfectly (medium) with great flavor. Oh and the salad and rolls with cinnamon butter, so good! Check this place out.

Order took twice as long as stated. Maybe it was bad timing because it was the 8pm hour and possibly close to closing. I got the feeling from the staff not to rush the order so I wouldn’t upset the cook. I would not return to this chop house in the future. The food was not cooked as ordered, but it was ok not great.

Manny’s is the pride of Polk County. Manny’s is so good that people are willing to venture into the depths of Polk County to eat here.
Haines City is the original Manny’s and it grew so popular there are now locations in Winter Haven, Lake Wales, Lakeland, and most recently 192. This week I ate at the Winter Haven location and I am here to tell you that the quality is just as spectacular as it is at the original location in Haines City.
99% of the time I order a Manny’s sirloin, which is to this day the best sirloin I’ve ever eaten. I’m usually a New York Strip or Filet Mignon kind of girl, but the quality of Manny’s Sirloin is so good I don’t feel the need to order anything else.
All of Manny’s steaks are served with your choice of potato. The fries are great, but I rarely get them because I ALWAYS have leftovers and fries are bad leftovers. My potato of choice is garlic smashed potatoes with white gravy. Yum!
All of Manny’s steaks are also served with a salad that is served family style and served to the whole table. Now, when Manny’s first opened I was forced to bring my own dressing and order an individual salad because Manny’s salad comes with ranch and I loathe, detest, and abhor ranch! However, they now will substitute a Caesar salad instead. Yay!
They also have the most amazing yeast rolls with cinnamon butter. I am drooling just typing about them.
They also have appetizers and desserts, but it is so much food I’ve never gotten them. If you don’t like steak (what?!) they do have chicken, shrimp, etc.
From 4pm-​6pm they have Early Bird dining and Manny’s Sirloin with all the above accompaniments is under $ 10! After 6 I think it is about $ 12. They don’t do early bird on weekends, or holidays. We ate here on NYE and it was considered a holiday so no early bird.
This place is packed so call ahead and put your name on the list 45 to 90 min before you go. We got here at 4pm on NYE when they opened and were seated right away. When we left about 5:20 the place was packed and lined out the door. They do not take reservations. Also, be prepared for extra crowds during snow bird season (Oct-​Apr).
I think Wed is buy one get one fajita night.

Manny’s Chop House is very similar to a Cody’s Road House, but somehow manages to surpass them. The food is reasonably priced and very tasty. They were very accommodating to my food allergy and they checked with the chef to make sure everything I ate was Gluten Free. The steak was cooked to perfection and the sides were tasty. Will definitely go back next time we are in Winter Haven!

Driving the back roads on our trip to Cape Coral, we looked up restaurants in the Winter Haven area. The chophouse name grabbed our attention, and the reviews made us stop. We were anticipating some good southern comfort food. And we were not disappointed.
I had the French onion soup. Delicious. Definitely homemade. The onions were cut in differing sizes, and the soup wasn’t full of flour. The cheese was perfectly melted and gooey until the bowl-​turned-​sideways last scoop. My wife had the salad; they mixed it our table with a creamy Italian dressing. The salad was a salad, but a good mix of spices in the dressing whets your appetite. On to the steaks.
My wife had the filet mignon and a baked potato. I had the NY strip paired with a sweet potato smothered in cinnamon butter. Both steaks were cooked as ordered and went down great. With the soup and half her salad in my belly, I wasn’t able to finish my potato. But I crushed that steak. 14 ounces of prime Angus meat. Fantastic.
If we find reason to go through Winter Haven again, we will be back. The wait staff was great. We went on a Thursday night around 6:30. No wait and the hostess sat us at a table of our choosing. Thanks Manny’s!

We ended up here as a fluke since the restaurant we tried to go to was closed. It’s been on the list for a while but just hadn’t happened. We were there at opening for lunch and the line was already forming. Trust me, use their call ahead seating and get your name on the list.
I was expecting a different lunch menu but nope, it’s the same. That makes it for a pricey lunch if you ask me. The salad was yummy, the steaks were good and I liked the salad and rolls. I personally has the salmon and it was yummy! The décor was interesting with lots of car parts and such all over the restaurant. Worth checking out.
