Worst Steak N Shake EVER! 20 minute wait even though half the tables were empty, except for the dirty dishes. Another 20 minutes for server, another 45 minutes for food. Owner and Manager were sitting at the counter eating… Neither one even looked up to see what was going on around them. Very inexperienced staff and horrible management. Steak n Shake should be embarrassed by this train wreck!

I have been to steak and shake in winter haven three times service is terrible food was cold tryed to service over my granbaby head young kids working their first jobs 20 min wait before waitress showed to table i think they just won’t first time customers my family and i will never return

It was a mistake going here. We were hoping for a quick meal after a day at Legoland with our son. This was nothing but. The restaurant was half full, and we were quickly seated. However, nothing was quick after that. It took ten minutes for a waitress to take our drink order, but she wasn’t ready to take our food order. Another ten minutes to take our food order. We asked three wait staff for crayons for our son, and had to go to the host station to grab crayons after none came through. The food took 25 minutes to come out after ordering and was meh. No drink refills offered. It seemed like many other tables had a similar service experience. Luckily you could pay at the counter so you didn’t have to wait for your check to be run by the waitstaff. This isn’t the chain restaurant you are use to, and I would recommend avoiding at all costs.

I gave it three tries(just because it IS Steak ‘N Shake) and I gotta say… don’t bother. The service is awful. The«Hostess» takes names and tells you there is a wait even though there are open tables & booths as well as tables & booths that are empty and just need cleaning. With a restaurant just half full, we waited 10 minutes for a waitress, another 20 minutes for our shake and another 40 minutes for our food. Ummm…SO not good. Waitresses dash about doing nothing, the place is disorganized and the atmosphere is one of frustration and a «so what» attitude. Go elsewhere. The coupons they offer make eating cheap, but there are cleaner, more inviting places to go with better service.

This had to be the worse steak and shake. we went Friday nite for dinner. We sat at the counter, took our order waited over an hour for two burgers both of which were wrong! We checked out but didn’t get a receipt, got home checked our bank account the next day and charged us 42 dollars! They took a 23 dollar tip. Went back today and talked to the manager Rudy… who in my opinion is not much of a manager… Anyway he did credit the difference but at no time did he apologize… just a really bad experience! No stars for this place!

Went there last Friday night after 7 pm. Expected a wait, got one. 20 minutes to eat at the counter. Waited another 10 minutes for waitstaff to take order. Waited 20 minutes for the shake, which was the only highlight of our experience. Finished the shake and 20 minutes later the meal arrived, one was right and the other wasn’t close, was afraid to send it back to the kitchen as we had waited almost an hour from walking in the door. Mentioned it to the waiter and he apologized, but it wasn’t his fault. Time to cash out, signed a receipt for $ 23. Three days later, a charge appeared on my statement for $ 42.24. After speaking with the Manager, Rudy, he wasn’t sure who the cashier was with the purple hair. This is not a good sign, doesn’t know the employees at all… Needless to say, there are other places out there and I would suggest exploring other options. I’m really not sure why they have a drive-through at this location, as it was taking about 35 – 40 minutes to prepare a burger.

Gave this place three chances, all drive thru. First time, there were about 6 cars in front of me. This was a few weeks after opening, so I gave their 45 min wait the benefit of the doubt. Time number two we waited 25 minutes with 2 cars in front of us. Last night was just ridiculous. We got to the drive thru at 9:05, after waiting 5 minutes for someone to take our order, we ordered two milkshakes. Drove up to pay at first window and were asked to pull to second window. We waited, and waited, and waited. The girl at the window felt bad, but kept telling us they were coming. We got our shakes at 9:30. I’m sure the guy behind us thought we had ordered half the menu. THESHAKESWERENTEVENGOOD! You’d think after the long wait they’d be awesome… needless to say, until they figure out this issue, I wont be returning.

1 star only because i cant go lower. Took 15 minutes too be seated every one i seen was having a problem with food service or both received our milkshakes after our meal was consumed, all sandwiches were wrong onion rings were cold and had too be sent back just a horrible experience food was greasy and very over seasoned, this is my 3rd and last attempt at this location its just not improving at all .the manager could care less about the restaurant being filthy or running well as long as he does not have too help. very sad, this is absolutely not the way Steak and Shake does business! The help is crying from people being so unhappy. But they don’t even ask was everything ok? They already know!

Prob the worst service at any restaurant in all of Winter Haven. The staff is mostly made up of kids who haven’t even graduated high school yet and most employees walk around with the«I hate my life and don’t care about anything in this world» look on their faces. It takes 10 minutes just to get your dang drinks. Food is mediocre. Not worth even coming in until new management takes over or they fire everyone. This place sucks.

Got seated in about 15 minutes, at 7:45. Got our order in, it took about 20 to get food, small shake didn’t get delivered until we were getting up to cash out. Our server, Gabby, was very attentive and apologized for the delay. Truthfully, it was busy, but a well-trained staff wouldn’t have a problem. The problem seems to be in the shake prep… no one seems to know how to do it. Incidentally, the manager(?) is the owner of a local pizza shop, even wearing the tee advertising his pizza!!! It will get better, but serious training needed ASAP.

This location is not off to a great start. Very poor customer service. Never greeted. There was a young man and a young woman at the hostess stand. They were more interested in talking to their group of friends than their job. I chimed in to find out that they can not take to go orders inside, only through the drive thru. An elderly man and woman began making a scene as I was leaving because these kids were rude and hadn’t seated him and his wife. I can understand his frustration! I looked up the number to call the manager as I sat in a drive thru, 10 cars deep. 35 minutes later, no food and no answer on the phone. I would actually give this zero star. It is the worse service I have ever experienced. My family of four were seated within 5 mins, and was told it would be a 30 min wait for our food. I was fine with that being it was a very busy location(next to legoland). After the waitress stopped by our table not once but twice, she assured us that our food would be out in a minute. Well minutes has gone by, and she returned to say that our food would take another 35 mins. After talking to the manager, he said he would personally go push our order in «now» and bring the food out himself. Well, they brought out the wrong salad that I ordered. I had to wait another 10 mins! On top of it all, the waitress never returned to our table to check on us and the manager didn’t discount our meal. It wasn’t till we complained to the cashier that it was the worse service we have ever experienced at a Steak and Shake resturant that we only got a $ 6 dollars discount for waiting 2 hours.

Since it is literally across the street from me, I thought I would walk in and get our food to go so I could just wait inside instead of the ridiculous drive thru line. The hostess said that corporate was not allowing any to go orders for the fist month. So, I called corporate and they were dumbfounded. She said she had never heard anything of that nature and would have someone call me back within 48hrs.

Worst drive thru & parking situation. They line up from drive thru out into a lane meant for traffic on a 2 lane road on a curve. Honked at because in way, but nowhere to go. No one thought thru this aspect at all,(or were inconsiderate and didn’t care). Of all the empty for sale property on Cypress Garden Blvd, this place was a stupid choice.

A sorry excuse for a restaurant. Worst service I have ever experienced. Don’t bother. We waited half an hour to sit down and we left without food after sitting 2 hours and dealing with rude, inexperienced, poorly trained, and ignorant waitstaff. They served numerous other tables that sat down after us for the entirety of our wait even with three disabled persons in our party. One waitress even complained about us being upset about the wait to other customers within our earshot. When I confronted her, she had nothing to offer but attitude. They have plenty of waiters and waitresses and 3 managers in the back yet could not even deliver the bare minimum of decent service/food. If you’re hungry and in the mood for hamburgers within a reasonable timeframe, head to the McDonald’s nearby(where we defeatedly went afterwards).
