I’m giving 5 stars because I think that the company has very unique products(even if I don’t understand them all) and because I love the story behind the brand. Plus, it was started by a woman, and it focuses especially on helping women worldwide. I think that’s super important. Bajalia has lots of very unique items, some beautiful, some puzzling, and some avant garde/over my head, yet interesting. I’ve gotten several gorgeous bangles here, as well as an amazing ring from Turkey, and a super, super pretty scarf. The items change seasonally, so check back every couple months to see what’s new. I loved what they had in the winter, but the summer items are a bit too neon and bright for me. Still, it’s definitely worth checking out. Prices range throughout the store, but the err on the side of being a bit pricier than I’m accustomed to. Granted, I’m used to Claire’s and Target pricing, which says pretty much nothing. They have several good sales throughout the year, and if you become a fan of their Facebook page and join the mailing list, you’ll be alerted as to when these occur. The store is on the south end of Park Ave. by Tutti Frutti and near Rollins. It’s similar to Ten Thousand Villages, but the items a bit more interesting and unique(and expensive). (By expensive I mean bangles can run anywhere from $ 5 to $ 60, and scarves are generally over $ 40, probably closer to $ 50 or $ 60. This is pretty standard for many items that are Fair Trade, and I think the quality here is higher than some other places I’ve seen, both in-store and online.)
