First time coming here, well worth it. I arrived with a few friends of mine on a steady wednesday night. We were seated and greeted immediately and then night went uphill fast! It’s at a medium price point but you’re paying for fresh ingredients and great taste. Their cocktail menu is sensational and the service was superb. If i wasn’t so busy stuffing my face I would have taken some photos, guess I’ll have to come back!

Came here one night for happy hour, liked it so much since it was our last day in Florida that we came back the next night for dinner service. Service was excellent and the food was delicious!

A good place to get some good food and some brew. However they only serve their own brew… which is good but makes it limited for someone looking for some good variety. Also i hate a place that preselects the beers for a flight. Their Wayfarer is very good but not included in their flight. The food is good but a little pricy. So glad I went but probably won’t be back to soon.

This is a must if you dune at Cask and Larder. Look for the Fresno Hot Sauce and load up on the gear.

As a celiac, there is nothing here for me. Maybe a salad? Every single thing in this restaurant is breaded or served on bread, or served with bread, or drenched in a sauce or gravy made with wheat flour. It is undortunate that with so many gluten free flours available, nobody at C&L cares about celiacs enough to make us gf chicken & waffles :((we are so sick and tired of restaurant people not taking our disease seriously!

This restaurant provides a warm and friendly environment complimented with high quality food and drink! Went tonight and had their Mac and cheese as well as their Napoleon dessert. Not my first time and will be back again!

As if I’d settle for dinner at the Universal City Walk! On a quick trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I made a reservation for three at Cask & Larder, a shabby-chic Southern spot with beers brewed on site. After a day in the park, I was especially appreciative of my lip-smackin’ softshell crab po’ boy. More importantly, the three of us could’ve eaten the shared sides – mac-and-cheese with candied collards, sweet corn with Carolina BBQ sauce, crispy cauliflower with spiced yogurt and salsa verde – ’til we exploded. While the wait staff seemed sweet, I think a few improvements would set Cask & Larder over the top. When we got our plate of East & West oysters to share, neither waitress knew which oysters were which. And although I’d mentioned(twice) to the hostess that we were celebrating my friend’s birthday, no one at the restaurant acknowledged the occasion. A bit of a bummer!

Fantastic! Worth the drive from O-town. Cocktails on draught, amazing BLTE and Nashville Hot Chicken for brunch, not to mention the Elvis Beignet!

This hidden gem had been on my radar for quite sometime. We came for brunch on Sunday. I had the shrimp and grits and my hubby had the chicken and waffles. He said it was the best he ever had. My grits could stand a little more seasoning but that’s my personal preference. It was amazing. The service was great! We had a lovely time and will return.

Been meaning to try this place for the longest time for a place to get some«real» southern cuisine. I cannot wait for my next visit. I went with two friends who also have been meaning to try this place and it was all our first time. Our waitress was very informative and helpful, and the atmosphere of the place is very classy but casual, so very comfortable for all. I ended up getting to drink the C & L Lemonade, which was tasty and refreshing. For appetizers my friends ordered okra which was also tasty and worthy trying, even from someone who doesn’t like vegetables ha. As a snack for myself that came at recommendation from our waitress I tried the beef heart pastrami, which I thought was worth a try, small though. Now for the main course I had to get the Nashville hot chicken. Delicious! Not necessarily very spicy to the point where you need to constantly drink water, but actually sweet with a nice comfortable kick to it. Some of the best hot chicken styles I’ve tried down here in Orlando. Comes with Mac and Cheese as well which is also quite filling. For dessert I ended up getting the chocolate napolean, which is a great size for after dinner and not overwhelming, especially after being stuffed from dinner. I cannot wait to return here, especially on a weekend for brunch as they serve chicken waffles which I hear come high recommended.

Second time coming here… This was for a cheat day and damn it did not disappoint! I like the atmosphere and décor — very farm house chic. And everything we get from is here is always fucking delicious! Just go. It’s awesome. Seriously.

Maybe because I had heard so many good things I had built this place up in my mind, but it certainly did not live up to the hype for me. My friend and I decided to go out last Friday night and I had been wanting to try this place forever. We arrived without reservation, but were told it was open seating in the bar and we right away saw 2 or 3 empty tables so happily took one. The downside to sitting in the bar was that it was incredibly loud. We sat at a small round table near the window and entrance and could barely hear each other. There were 2 different people working in the bar and they said they would be taking care of us together. They brought us menus and ice water. My first thought upon glancing at the menu was, «where is the rest of it?» It seemed quite sparse. I wondered if we had a limited bar menu, but no, it was the full menu. Luckily, I did manage to find one of the items I read about on Unilocal and ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken. That being said, if I hadn’t ordered that, there was zero else on the menu that appealed to me. There was a lot of seafood on the menu and neither my friend or I eat seafood, so this is part of the issue. My friend and I decided to split this item and that was a good call. The portion size was large with 4 pieces of chicken and a side of macaroni and cheese. First of all Nashville Hot Chicken is usually served with pickles. I am disappointed to say this was served with a bread and butter pickle relish. Neither of us like bread and butter pickles so we scraped those off. The chicken was really delicious. It was succulent, and juicy with great flavor. It was hot, but not too hot. They had this white bbq to go with it that was really interesting and which we both quite enjoyed. The macaroni and cheese was delicious and it had a soft white cheese on top, sort of ricotta like, but why oh why did they have to ruin the macaroni with collards?! They put collards in the macaroni! I did not care for this at all. The macaroni was delicious, but I spent so much time picking around the collards that I didn’t eat very much of it. Finally, my friend had been here before and had the best wine of her life, but was disappointed that it was no longer available, at least not by the glass. She ordered a Cabernet instead and was disappointed. I ordered a Cocktail called a Lost Horizon and did not care for it at all. To start of with the color was off putting. It was a muddy brown color. It was bitter at the beginning and sweet at the end. The flavors just didn’t jive. I enjoyed the chicken, but not much else and I found the menu seriously lacking in variety. Atmosphere was obnoxiously loud. I’m sorry I just don’t get the hype.

The ultimate spot in Orlando for classic Southern-style recipes with a modern twist! Cask & Larder is truly unique with an ever-changing menu, so expect to see brand new dishes on the menu every week. It’s quickly become mine and the boyfriend’s favourite place for classy food and drinks that don’t cost a small fortune. Like the food, the décor in the restaurant fuses modern and rustic Southern style and is the perfect place to spend several hours sampling their unusual but wonderful menu. I’d suggest arriving as early as possible in time for Happy Hour between 4pm — 6pm, as it does get busy very fast. And who doesn’t want incredibly fresh $ 1 oysters and extremely cheap bar snacks along with some truly creative cocktails? I don’t drink alcohol myself, but the Bee’s Knees cocktail was the most popular drink in our group, and the Smoked Fish Dip with corn bread was delicious — I could easily have eaten several plates of it myself. If you’re visiting in a group of 2 or alone, grab a seat by the bar for the fastest service and best drink recommendations from their very knowledgeable and friendly bartenders. For dinner I’d suggest sampling as many items as possible — they’re ideal for sharing tapas-style amongst a group. My favourites so far have been the deviled eggs, mac & cheese with candied collared greens and farmer’s cheese and the hushpuppies with jalapeño remoulade. The dessert menu is available if you ask for it, which is absolutely worth it as the chocolate cheesecake and ice cream sandwich are heavenly — I wasn’t quite prepared for how good they were. I’ll mention that it’s not the best place for picky eaters and probably not for children, as some of the ingredients are quite unusual, but they do taste out of this world and the chefs here are truly talented. It’s clear that lots of thought goes into the menu, as I have yet to taste anything here that has been any less than amazing. They are also happy to provide for anyone with allergies or gluten intolerances. I’ll also add that the bathrooms are extremely spacious and clean, with beautiful-smelling almond hand soap. Overall it’s safe to say I’m obsessed! We try to visit once a month when possible and every time it’s a five-star experience. A must-visit for dinner in the Winter Park area. I follow them on Instagram to keep up with their latest creations — the brunch does look incredible. Despite presenting quite an upscale menu, prices can be surprisingly affordable as long as you refrain from ordering too many drinks. I’d recommend this for anyone looking for unique and exciting food — it’s hard to imagine anyone being disappointed!

I’m just gonna have to go all five stars on this place. I’m from Portland and at touchdown, googled best places to eat and this was a top 10 in Orlando. My goal is to eat as many«local» things while I’m here, so key lime pie, catfish, Cuban sandwiches, and as much fresh squeezed OJ as possible. you get the idea. :) I WAS looking forward to the deviled eggs which they didn’t have, but I subbed the Pimiento and bread appetizer and it was completely delish! Also, had the Cape Canaveral Flounder over grits and, it’s a bunch of tastes that just work perfectly together. For drinks, normally I would’ve tried the beer flight since it’s made in-house, but went with the Lost Horizons based on name alone. Not bad! Service, good! The staff was friendly and it was the perfect amount of time between items. Fav thing? All sourced locally and sustainably! Anyway, I recommend!

Came in with a couple co-workers for a drink before a group dinner. When we first arrived, we mentioned that we were there for happy hour. We were sternly informed that it ended at 6:00pm and then blankly stared at like we would be turning around and leaving. To the hostesses surprise, we stayed! We sat in the bar area waiting for our third guest to arrive. The server was very cordial and made recommendations on the drink menu. Unfortunately we didn’t follow them. We were both torn on what to order after reading the menu. Most of them were intriguing, but I made a last minute decision change to be more adventurous. I believe it was called the beer and sand. I should have stuck with my instincts. It wasn’t bad, but I wasn’t a fan either. We did snack on some oyster before we left and they were top notch. Definitely a place I’d like to come back to for another try before fully making up my mind.

SO, GOOD! But had a couple quibbles. Came for brunch and had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was so tender and juicy, with a nice kick. The breading was good, tending to flake off like country style fried chicken. The waffle was ok. The creamy sauce and pickle choux choux were outstanding. The hashbrowns, HOLYMOLY the hashbrowns! They are so creamy, yet crispy. Sous vided potatoes with cheese then fried up. Nomnomnomnom The bad, the mimosas were really weak, like just a glass of orange juice that had briefly looked at a bottle of champagne. They could put a couple«normal» items on the menu for non foodies. My wife likes straightforward«diner» style meals and hated this place.

I love Cask! I always tell myself I won’t order an appetizer to save money but then I see the menu and want everything. My favorite appetizer is the pimento cheese that comes with ham jam and collard bread! I could eat the pimento cheese by the spoonful. So yummy. I’ve ordered the Mac and cheese a few times, but it changes with their menu. I’ve had it with broccoli, which was not good. Every bite tasted like broccoli and I hated that. But the other time was magical. The bread crumbs on top give it a touch of crunch. If you want an incredible cocktail, get the C&L Lemonade. It blew my mind. I went for brunch today and we had the Bakeshop on a Board which was fabulous. It’s a good size to share with the table. The cranberry-white chocolate scones were the best scones I’ve ever had. I ordered the biscuits and gravy as my entrée and those cheddar and chive biscuits are on point. Everyone agreed it was the best plate on the table. It comes with 4 giant biscuits so you definitely get your money’s worth. Cask is on the pricier side so it’s not an everyday place. Some of the menu items are not worth the $, but the ones that are make Cask worth a visit!

So we’ve come here every year for my husband’s birthday because he loves the food here. It’s southern but upscale without being pretentious. Everything seems very fresh and delicious and we’ve never had anything shy of amazing service. The thing that impressed me the most is their willingness and ability to accommodate almost any dietary restrictions. I have a ton of allergies and I’m a vegan(I know I know, I’m a nightmare to go on a date with), and the chef marked up a menu so I could easily find what I could have and went even a step further than that and wrote down a suggested trio of small dishes he could do as an entrée. It was DELICIOUS! I’m posting what he wrote down for me(although for the last suggestion I went with their Brussels sprouts instead, mmmm!). The food was amazing, the atmosphere is fun and romantic, the drinks are always on point, and the service is perfect!

If you’re looking for delicious food with a lot of flavor this is the place to go. The menu is rotating, they brew their own beer, & it’s got a chill vibe. It’s upscale but not snobby. Anyone from Miami, this would be comparable to a nice spot in Brickell or Coral Gables. The brewery is next to the bar & there is a window looking in. There must have been some VIP’s because there was a table inside & a group being sat when we arrived. We got a few drinks & waited for our table. Once we were sat, we were greeted by our server & given a quick rundown of the menu. As I mentioned, the menu rotates so the food options are always different. We opted to order a bunch of apps & entrees & share. We went with Skillet Mac N Cheese, Hush Puppies, Brisket Sliders, Lamb French Dip, Quail, & Spare Ribs. Everything we got was on point & beautifully presented. We were there celebrating a birthday so we ordered a doughnut dessert. They brought the plate decorated with«Happy Birthday» written out in Chocolate. We quickly devoured the dessert & were all left feeling perfectly satisfied. The meal was terrific, the service was great, & the atmosphere was just right. Would I eat here again? I most definitely would eat here again it was an excellent experience. I’ll let my photos tell the rest of the story.

I heard that Cask and Larder had a Butcher’s Chop on the menu for a limited time but with Thanksgiving and my wife’s classes I had to wait a couple of weeks. Well tonight she finished up with her classes so I decided to pop in and give those chops a try… Unfortunately they were only on the menu for a week so I missed out… I was very disappointed but with a seat overlooking the pastry area and able to see what they were making, I quickly got over missing out on them… I have to say that from the moment we walked in the door to the time we left, the staff went out of their way to cater to us. They TRULY understand the concept of customer service and I have to give praise to the entire staff because they all work together to make the dining experience memorable. My wife started off with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon as usual it was iced tea with lime for me. Trust me, tonight was a night I really wish I was not allergic to alcohol because of what I chose but we’ll get to that. I did however get to sniff the bouquet of her wine and I was jealous. My wife started with the Kale Salad and followed up with the Hanger Steak. I chose to start off with the Venison Tartare and follow up with the Braised Rabbit. I ordered the Cask Mac n Cheese for us to share and we saved room to share the Chocolate Chess Pie. The Kale Salad was wonderful and I am not even a fan of raw Kale because of the texture BUT the flavors used in that salad just sang in harmony… WELLDONE! The Venison Tartare was definitely the best I have ever had. The texture was wonderful and the flavor just stole the show. Just a light gaminess but the meat was so tender it just melted like butter in your mouth. That Lardo toast was a perfect match but the portion of tartare made quick work of the three pieces of toast. The gentleman that made it for me overheard me comment to my wife that I could have used a fourth piece and took care of it. I did not think I said it loud enough for anybody to hear me but that goes to show that he was keeping an eye on our needs. A special thanks to him for going the extra mile tonight. That Cask Mac n Cheese was also a show stopper… The combination of cheese, cauliflower and tasso ham was amazing. I honestly had to force myself to stop eating it so I had room for dessert. The Braised Rabbit was another dish that just took my breath away. No gaminess at all and the choice of vegetables was perfect. The maitake mushrooms complimented the taste of the rabbit meat perfectly and the sweetness of the sweet potato was just enough to bring it all together. I could not believe my wife said it tasted like chicken because chicken NEVER tasted that good. SIGH The Hanger Steak was well executed. The brown butter sauce and Horseradish were a perfect compliment to the meat. I did not sample the broccoli rabe or the potatoes but odds are I will be ordering it the next time I drop by… Well unless the Butcher Chops are on the menu… WINK The Chocolate Chess Pie was recommended by the gal making the pastries and THANKYOU for recommending it… The pie itself was amazing but that chai chantilly just took it to the next level. Add to that the amazing ginger biscotti and the coffee cream and all I can say is… WOW! I am so glad I saved room for dessert tonight. I would have normally made reservations BUT Rhys Gawlak is a member of a foodie group I help to manage on Facebook and I wanted to slip in undetected to get the TRUE customer experience. Well I am pleased to say that this was one of the best dining experiences I have had without making a reservation. Give your staff a pat on the back for their excellence in execution. Next time, I promise to let you know when I am coming… If you have not dined at Cask and Larder, what are you waiting for?
