Awesome shepherds pie. Great vibe and décor. Parking sucks mainly due to the intersection from hell. Now if the scum bag Rollins kids would stop stealing the brass mugs.

An awesome Irish pub with great food and an authentic atmosphere. I previously attended(and reviewed) an amazing event at Fiddler’s, but that wasn’t quite the same as going alone with my wife. We decided to go the other weekend and see if the average meal at Fiddler’s was going to be as good as their private events. Fortunately, Fiddler’s turns out to always deliver. Located at the intersection of Fairbanks and Orange, Fiddler’s is a big green Irish restaurant that you can’t miss. We went one Saturday morning(be forewarned that they open 30 minutes later than the time listed on Unilocal) to see if they served a decent brunch. We went inside and were immediately greeted and told to take a seat. We were originally directed over to a huge table(which was silly for 2 people), so we pushed to be seated at one of their tables. Once we were seated, we looked around at everything that is inside. The pub has a ton of different items, ranging from a stage and piano to fun Irish knick-knacks to a separate bar area in the back. You can tell that events are pretty fun at this bar. Our waitress came over and gave us the main menu and the brunch menu. While my wife wanted some Shepherd’s pie and an authentic Irish beer, I decided to get the seafood omelet off the brunch menu(which was only $ 7!). The waitress chatted with us about the bar and Irish pubs around Orlando while we waited for our food. Once our food arrived, we dug in to our tasty treats. My seafood omelet was full of crab, shrimp, and I believe scallops. Whatever was in there, it tasted great with the egg and fries. Overall, Fiddler’s is an awesome authentic Irish restaurant that provides a fun atmosphere and great food. If you are looking to have an authentic Irish experience, there are few places in America you could go to have a better one than at Fiddler’s.

First off lets start with the sound. Going there with my girlfriend we couldn’t even talk! The band playing was just to loud and overpowering. Everything on the menu was priced fairly and actually the spinach and cheese dip was good. But for the actual food it was gross and upset my stomach for hours afterwards which never happens. The salad was this nasty ceaser and the lettuce it’s self wasn’t fresh. I got the steak tips which tasted like they were frozen then cooked. Only good part about my meal was the mashed potatoes. She got the salon which she said was good not the best. Been to many Irish pubs! I’m Irish and love them but this one to me isn’t that great. As I’m eating a guy two tables over is vaping. Tacky.

Irish food for the win! We love this place. From the moment you walk in you’ll find that it has a very Irish pub feel throughout. There are sections for dining and for bar drinks and eats. I frequented this place with fellow Rollins classmates after night classes and we’d hang at the bar. The fries are a great share plate if you’re interested in that. On the dining side there are standard tables with servers. There are good at accommodating large groups as well. Order potato pancakes with sour cream and applesauce. The Shepard’s pie is a good meal option. Parking lot is a little frustrating here. This place fills up pretty frequently and the parking lot is really the only available safe place to have your car. Overall: A Make a reservation if you’ve got a large group. Get potato pancakes. Enjoy!

Four stars for a great atmosphere and tasty Irish fare, but a star off for not the most quality ingredients. To start, I enjoyed my main meal, and my husband enjoyed his. We also loved the interior. It’s dark and clean and everything you’d hope for in an Irish pub. However, the ingredients don’t live up to their«authentic» claim. I’m almost 100% sure they use instant mashed potatoes instead of actual mashed potatoes. I might be wrong. However, it certainly doesn’t taste like I am. I’m assuming they do this because they like to pipe decorative potato toppings on a lot of their dishes. However, it made my side of colcannon(mashed potatoes with cabbage) taste bad. My main dish, the Shepherds pie, was good. I enjoyed it, but it would have been better with real potatoes. I liked that it came with a side of carrots, but I would have preferred that carrots to be properly warmed up. While this is a fairly critical review, we did enjoy ourselves and most of our food. The ambiance is great, and it’s hard enough to find places that offer things like colcannon to really complain too fiercely. Overall, I suggest you avoid the potatoes, enjoy the tasty food, and drink deep of the beer and the Irish vibe.

This tavern is a great place to have a few drinks and some fish & chips. Good live music some nights. Great service. A fun place to have a few drinks and spend time with friends.

5 Stars for a truly authentic Irish pub that’s got atmosphere, live music, darts, and fantastic food. First thing to get out of the way is that yes, this place sometimes gets packed with college kids from Rollins College and can feel a bit fratty on those occasions. But the reason why it has endured as a local favorite(and college favorite) is because it is the most legit Irish pub in town. Nothing about it feels false. Not the quirky nick knacks on the walls, or the fun bands that play on the weekends, or the perfectly-curated Irish dining menu. That’s right folks. Though you can certainly grab an Irish whiskey or Guinness, what helps push this place to a solid 5 stars is the food. The menu is fairly short, which I appreciate because everything on it is expertly prepared. My fave dish is the Cottage Pie. Guys. This dish makes me feel like I’m home, tucked in bed while watching a bad JLo movie on a rainy day. That’s to say I love it… It’s full of salty goodness and pure comfort food. I also dig their Irish Egg Rolls which sound a bit suspect but taste like deep fried Irish heaven. Take a chance on these bad boys and be pleasantly surprised. Overall, as a Rollins alumni I’m only slightly biased and still feel qualified to give it the Unilocal version of two enthusiastic thumbs up! Now on to learn some good, legit Irish toasts… There once was a man from Nantucket… Nope, that’s not even close. Go home, Andi.

Went in here one night with my fiancé and friend, we got in and were brought to our seats. We were seated for about 15 minutes, it was so loud in there and servers were walking past us left and right and got no service. It was so bad we decided to just walk out. I can’t say it was bad service because we didn’t get any! Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

I come here all the time for trivia on Wednesday nights. It has a very cool, somewhat old timey, Irish pub feel. They have authentic Irish food, but also American favorites. I always have a great time while here, but maybe the food could be better.

Stopped in here for a dinner with family. The fish and chips was piping hot but the batter was fairly bland. The seasoned fries were excellent. The sauce on the side was a bit odd, like a mayo based sauce without any pickles(so not really tartar) but it was good. My husband got the buffalo chicken sandwich but the sauce almost tasted more like BBQ sauce than hot sauce. The portion was huge on both his sandwich and my fish, so it’s a good value for the money. Service was pleasant if not overly so, although we had to ask for refills. I don’t think I’d go out of my way to eat here again but I wouldn’t avoid it. I wasn’t blown away by the service or the food.

I consider myself an Irish Pub aficionado and this place is uamhnach! I’ve been to pubs all across the country and these folks easily make my top five. This is a solid choice if you are looking for an authentic pub experience without traveling across the pond. PROTIP– I you don’t know the area well, parking can be annoying. You can see the parking lot but getting to it can be a pain in the a**! ATMOSPHERE– Exactly as it should be. We’re talking dark wood, slightly dark lighting, a little well-worn and generally very comfortable. Note that they are more focused on restaurant than pub. A true pub would be the other way around. While I was there, in true pub fashion, there was a bunch of folks watching soccer matches and swilling Guinness. ADULTLIBATIONS– A full bar of course but the emphasis is on beer. The beer list is substantial and should satisfy everyone but a top tier beer aficionado. CUSTOMERSERVICE– Not a problem. Everyone that has touched me has been competent and friendly. FOOD– I went with what I call the WeightWatchers Special. It’s particularly low on carbs and calories. If you believe that, you probably believe everything Trump says also! It’s a combo of– 1. Clonakilty Cocktail Sausages– Irish-style mini pork sausages served with HP sauce and Coleman’s hot mustard.($ 7.95) 2. Loaded Potato Wedges– Wedge fries topped with melted cheddar, crumbled bacon and sour cream.($ 7.95) I was in heaven. Everything was cooked correctly and bursting with flavor. I was also comatose and needed to be rolled out to my car on a stretcher! This may be The Land of the Mouse and I doubt Mickey is Irish, but these folks have been successful for years and for that I am delighted.

We came here on Sunday after Church. We were greeted by a hostess and seated. Not many people there on a Sunday afternoon. Tom our waiter came by, let me tell you, this guy was on point. He suggested some brunch drinks, which the Mrs. gladly obliged. We then placed our meal orders. I ordered the fish and chips, three very generous pieces of fish, served over a bed of fries. Yummy… My wife ordered Irish Egg Rolls. ??? Yep! Slices of rolled corn beef wrapped in egg roll dough, and of course deep fried. Served with s dipping that was really good, can’t remember what it was. These rolls were deelish! My Guinness was tall and cold. Our server, Tom was very good, talkative, but not overbearing. Good job! Fiddlers Green is definitely worth a return trip.

Mind you, this place doesn’t hold a candle to Claddagh Cottage or Harp and Celt in my book, but it is still pretty good. I stopped for brunch and had a crab omelet… which shockingly enough was made with REAL crab! The cheese sauce on top was really awesome. I’ll need to come back and try the cottage pie to see how Fid’s fares against the others. I have come in on more than one occasion for drinks and the servers are always super nice. It’s a place where many regularly come to hang but beware, the spoiled rich brats sporting their hipster best from Rollins come in and droves and act like fools, oblivious to everyone around there.

This is about as authentic as an Irish pub gets. In fact, it’s more authentic than a few pubs I’ve been to in Ireland. The décor is traditional and homey. The stew, fish and chips, and hen in a pot are all quite authentic. They even have the same traditional Irish nachos I had in Ireland. Seriously. There’s a nice beer list that also include some local favorites, including some interesting stouts and porters. Service is a bit better here than traditional Irish pub service, in that you don’t have to order at the bar. This is probably the best pub I’ve been to in the US.

Fun cozy spot. Wifey and I went for dinner date night, and had a blast. The singer and piano duo on Saturdays is great, the crowd gets into it singing along. It really felt like a nice irish pub. I mean, sometimes in Florida the whole Irish pub dark wood thing, doesn’t really work with our humidity and Palm Trees. However this spot was very chill, and you got that good pub feeling from it. The food was solid. I had the chicken ceasar, the blackening on the chicken is convincing! Like they have Paul Prudhomme back in the kitchen. Wifey enjoyed her chicken tenders, which were massive, but really well executed, still juicy, not dried out. I will return next time I’m in Winter Park.

I know this place is basically a Winter Park institution but I was a little let down. Fiddler’s definitely looks the part of Irish pub and has the bar regulars to back them up. Any given day you are likely to see the same folks around the back bar. Food here was so so. Not as authentic or fresh as I had hoped. My beer came out warm which is unforgivable if you’re charging me that much for it. Happy hour offer was okay with a few beers going for $ 3 or so. There was also a platter of random snack out on a table for anyone to grab. That creeped me out a little but I tried a few of the fried clam strips all the same. Fid’s is a mix of older locals and Rollins students. They have live music some nights which may bring me back sometime.

Fiddlers is a nice restaurant that keeps the authenticity of Irish pubs with the closeness of tables, dim lighting, and the art and design of the bar. The menu has the Irish classics such as the shepherds pie and cornbeef and cabbage. I have a feeling as though it is missing something though, as to why I gave it the rating. Granted, I would recommend it to others and I would return!

I had heard about this place in the past and finally gave it a shot. We went on an off time for the restaurant(somewhere between lunch and dinner and it was empty) and ordered the shepherds pie and a ruben. For being the only people in the restaurant it took a VERY long time to get our food and the waitress barely ever came by the table. The food when it finally got to the table was flavorful and authentic but it wasn’t good enough for me to say«I have to come back to this place». It was okay for a one time visit but that is probably all it will end up being.

I’ve been coming here for ten years now. How did I forget to write a review for Fiddler’s Green? My creative writing group from UCF used to meet up at Fiddler’s Green after workshops, and we’d eat, drink, and be merry until it was time to get what little sleep we could before class the next day. In the years since I’ve graduated, I’ve returned to Fiddler’s Green at least twice a year, and I’m still not tired of it. First off, parking is a bit of a pain, especially on a busy night. Be prepared to find an alternate parking lot if need be. That being said, let’s head inside. The atmosphere feels very authentic, like you just walked into an old pub in Ireland. It has a very«lived in» look, and I mean that in a good way. It feels like they uprooted an old Irish building and its décor and transported it to Winter Park. The staff has always been very friendly. They’re very knowledgeable about the menu and can help guide you through if you have gluten sensitive friends. The food is top notch. You’ve got a selection of traditional Irish pub fare like hen, bangers and mash, Irish stew, Gaelic steak, etc. If you’re not quite ready to get out of your comfort zone, Fiddler’s also has a selection of burgers and sandwiches albeit with an Irish twist. I’ve had the bangers and mash, hen in a pot, and the roasted duck, and they’re all delicious. I’ve also had a few of their burgers, and they’re very tasty as well. Their fries are seasoned well and nice and crispy. I took off one star for the parking and some of the questionable entertainment they provide. Some nights, you’ll get to hear a local artist perform Irish songs and it really enhances the Irish pub vibe. Other nights, you get a bunch of over the hill guys playing god awful covers of great classic rock songs, and it kind of takes you out of the moment. I understand that there probably isn’t an abundance of local Irish musicians around here, but listening to a group of balding dads play an embarrassing cover of «Mary Jane’s Last Dance» really kills the mood and reminds you that you’re in Winter Park instead of Ireland. Besides that, you really can’t go wrong here. Excellent food, fantastic atmosphere and décor, awesome staff; come hungry!
