Wanted a cheap mexican night dinner close to home to picked up some Chilangos to go. Ordered on GrubHub and picked up in 20 minutes. The couple behind the counter could not have been nicer. I asked for extra chips for my side of refried beans and was going to pay extra but she gave them to me free of charge. Told me all about their restaurant and they would even deliver next time if I didn’t want to come and pick it up. She told me to help myself to the salsa bar while my order was being packed up. They have awesome little salsa cups to get yourself some salsa to go and wow, they were all delicious, especially the regular salsa. We got a gigantic burrito, three huge soft tacos all with different meats, large cheese dip and chips, side of refried beans, and two fluatas with all the fixins. All of the food plus all the salsa for under $ 25! We only live 2 miles away and this may be our new weekly spot! Very excited for taco Tuesday and ½ off burrito Thursday!

Love love love this place! Service was amazing, the food was excellent and they ran to the store to buy more beer because they only had a few left! Will most definitely be going back to this place

Soooo delicious! Not to mention extremely affordable considering how big their burrito is. I have taken many friends here and they always go back for more.

If you are expecting taco bell like food(aka dog food) don’t stop in. This is AUTHENTIC Mexican food. It’s fresh and delious. I think one of the previous reviewers might not have ever had real Mexican food before and has grown accustomed to the Americanized Tex-Mex variety. My family loves Chilangos and highly recommend it to anyone that appreciates true Mexican fare!

The soup was tasteless except for the oregano seasoning. The burrito was dry and consisted of 60% lettuce, 20% rice and the rest was meat that was not seasoned with a speck of sour cream. Worst burrito ever! The tacos are okay, but the steak in all of our combo plates of tacos were over-cooked and very dry. They were skimpy, as well… taco bell fills the taco more. There were 5 of us and none of us ate the rice or re-fried beans, both were plan and tasteless. Many, many places much better tasting than this place.

For me, a treat, $ 1 Taco Tuesday. I always choose the Adobo meat, Mexican –style taco. Tasty. Add the chips, salsa, sautéed onions, grilled jalapeño bar and you feel like you’ve scored a deal. Very friendly owners and quick service round out why this ought to be a place to check out.

We love this place! When I was pregnant with both of my kids I ate here all the time, they also catered both of my baby showers! We love them! We order all the time now that we just moved close enough for delivery, and they have half off chimichangas(our favorite) on Thursdays!

This place was a great little dive for tacos. They have taco tuesadfor $ 1. I ordered alambre tacos & my bf ordered a chimichanga. Both equally good! One thing that would be a great addition is if they offered flavored waters.

It’s a very small restaurant. There are three deuces, one four top, and some bar top seating. I assume most people order food for take out, but the restaurant was completely full when I visited for lunch on Taco Tuesday. Speaking of Taco Tuesday, they have this great deal where all tacos are $ 1 each on Tuesdays. I ordered six hard and soft shell tacos with each of the possible fillings and all Mexican style. Overall, the tacos were pretty good. Decently small(about 4 inches in diameter), simple yet crisp toppings of diced white onion, cilantro, and your choice of salsa. It’s a pretty good deal, and it’s a nice way to customize the tacos to your own preference, but the meat fillings were a little plain. They could use a little more seasoning or spice to really take it to the next level. I would come here again for the Tuesday promotion of dollar tacos. It’s a good deal — a nice cheap way to fulfill your taco fantasies.

We’ve tried this place twice over the course of a year and while they are very nice and provide good customer service, the food is just plain bland. The meat isn’t seasoned and nothing we’ve tried has any real flavor. It’s a shame because they have good prices and are near by.

This is a hole in the wall in an unobtrusive strip mall in Winter Springs, and it serves the best Mexican border-style food I’ve found in the Orlando area. It’s clean if unprepossessing inside, and can only seat 10 or 12 people at a time. But the tacos! Get the Mexican style ones, not American, and help yourself from the salsa bar to fried onions, jalapenos, lime wedges, and sauces ranging from mild to very hot. Tacos come in carnitas or chicken or steak, but I recommend the adobo(your grandma’s brisket, if you call her abuela) or the lengua(yes, that’s tongue, and no, it really is delicious). The frijoles refritos are a bit bland, but the charro beans with a hint of bacon make a fine side dish. Chips and salsa are free if you eat in the restaurant(though they do much of their business as takeout or delivery), and the guacamole is a generous portion. Go for the dollar tacos at Tuesday happy hour. It’s the best deal in town.

I was driving by my old neighborhood when I remembered about this small Mexican place. We were excited to have some of our favorite Mexican food. When we arrived we noticed not much has changed in regards to the décor or menu. The service was great, gentleman behind the counter was very courteous and polite. We ordered all vegetarian options(tacos and quesadilla). To drink Tamarind jarritos and for dessert a tres leche cake. They give chips while you wait so feel free and don’t be shy with the salsa bar(don’t miss out on the onions and jalapeños). Once our food came out we were surprised with the portions; HUGE for the amount you pay here! The flavor was just right and it felt like Mexican food made to order. The cheese in the quesadilla was so good I even asked the kitchen what brand it was. My wife loved her tacos she didn’t stop talking about them. Overall, great service and great food for an AMAZING price. We truly wish we had Ms. Dlila’s Chilangos back where we live now. Chilangos is like eating at someone’s welcoming home. We’ll definitely be back for another 5 star visit!

horrible, horrible, horrible. a disgrace to mexican cuisine. cheap products. i had what we believed to be mold floating in my fountain drink and the salsa tasted like soap. i wish i hadn’t paid and i will not be returning. the steak in the burritos tasted like crap, the tacos contained stems and rotting leaves.

I wrote a post before about how much we love this place and it is still by far the best Mexican restaurant in the local area. My fiancé and I always go here when we are in winter springs and not only is it extremely cheap, but the burritos are huge. They always custom make us a chorizo cheese dip, which isn’t on the menu and they somehow always remember us and know our orders. The chorizo burritos are also amazing. They put a LOT of chorizo in it and then fill it up with whatever topping inside you like. If you are ever in winter springs, you should try this place out. They don’t have a lot of seating because it is a small store, but it is definitely great if you go when they aren’t busy or for takeout/delivery.

I have been going to Chilangos for 3 years now, and I am not sure if there is another restaurant in the Orlando are by the same name that has bad food, but that is the only explanation I can give for any negative reviews about this restaurant. Sure it’s a dive, but it is a dive with GREATFOOD. I don’t know if you were expecting ambiance, but this small family run business is in the business of delivering great food, not fancy accoutrements. The owner of the business is a sweet woman who has been nothing but friendly and personable since the first time I ordered food from her restaurant. The kitchen staff, although somewhat impeded by a language barrier, attempts to provide good customer service in spite of the broken English. I don’t know if competitors in the area are trashing this sweet woman and her restaurant to prevent her from getting much deserved business, but my personal opinion is the food is great, the portions are more than generous(I fill up on one American taco and the beans and rice!), and the service is awesome as well. Try the food and don’t expect it to be an Amigo’s or some other corporate chain restaurant. Just enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine at an affordable price! You won’t be disappointed!

For me to whip up a Latin feast, I need at least 48 hours notice to ensure adequate marinating of both meat and pickled vegetables. For instant gratification the perfect solution was to take a drive to my local favorite Mexican Restaurant — Chilangos. Located a few miles of 434 and 17⁄92 in Winter Springs, Chilangos is a family run restaurant by The Silva Family offering home style Mexican fare in a compact and colorful setting. On the menu you will find a mixture of non-pretentious, humble selection of popular classic selections and traditional authentic items like tortas, huraches, and sopes. Stroll down the menu and you will find choice of meats listed. A variety of meats offered with dishes especially made to order. One has the standard Tinga de Pollo, Asada, Carnitas and for the seasoned eaters like me, Lengua and Chorizo. Eaten at Chilangos multiple times, I have my personal favorites picked out; this is the reason I came for dinner in the first place. I ordered La Torta Loca, Hurache with Lengua, Mexican Style Tacos with Chicken, Pork, and Asada, Tamale with Pork. If it is your first visit at Chilangos, the large print food shots should greatly assist in making your choice. It’s a thoughtful touch especially when it comes to ethnic cuisines. I don’t eat too much carbs but La Torta Loca is one enormous sandwich I like to eat by myself. Generous portions of asada, carnita, ham, and chicken, topped with Mexican slaw, layered between buttery toasted bun; what’s there not to LOVE? The Mexican style Tacos are filled with well seasoned meat. Note I mention Mexican style, because it comes only with onions and cilantro. There is a Salsa station where you can pick your choice of sauces — red, chipotle, tomatillo ranging from mild to hot; it also offers caramelized onions and pickled jalapeño peppers. The Huraches was topped with refried beans, onions, cilantro, sour cream, fresh Mexican cheese and Lengua. I enjoy the savory, spicy, and sweetness combination of this dish. It is a tad heavy on the palate therefore I recommend sharing it. Tamales are my Mexican comfort food; a dish which is labor intensive and unfortunately most Mexican restaurants do a poor job of representing this wonderful dish. One bite of Chilangos Tamales confirm that they are home-made especially since they use white masa. The tamale was savory, with a hint of sweetness, and generously filled with seasoned pork. I relished every bite of it. A brief background — I discovered Chilangos when I first moved to Orlando a few years ago. My quest for finding authentic, ethinic, and local restaurants brought me to Chilangos. I have perhaps visited quite a few Mexican restaurants in CFL and in my personal opinion; it is one of the best joints offering authentic Mexican flavors. For all the people hooked on the complex yet comforting flavors Mexican cuisine has to offer, Chilangos is one restaurant I am pleased to endorse; which is worth the trek, regardless of which suburb of Orlando you reside in

Yesterday evening we gathered at Chilangos for a Taco Tuesday event. I had never been to Chilangos, but after viewing the menu on their website, I was excited. They have both, american and mexican style tacos! Which is a plus if you’re meeting with friends, you’re not sure who will want which kind. Its tucked in a small strip mall of stores just off 434 past 419. If you blink you’ll miss it, so keep an eye open. Its a small family owned business, but hopefully they can invest in a better sign soon. When you walk in you’re greeted by smiling faces ready to serve you. I ordered the Al Pastor Taco, which is pork strips marinated with spices. Very flavorful with every bite. I also ordered a chicken Huarache. Handmade tortilla topped with refried beans, onions, cilantro, sour cream and fresh cheese. Never having one of these before I wondered what I had got myself into. when it arrived it was like a small boat of food! Everything tasted fresh, nothing was overwhelming and the cilantro made it all come together! I felt the chicken was a tad plain, maybe add some chili powder or other spices to it so you can liven it up some. It was a little too shredded as well, maybe leave some larger chunks. However, it was pretty good. The nachos on the table were fresh, lightly salted, and tasty. The salsa bar was a hit in my opinion. Only a few choices but the flavors were vibrant and kept you guessing. We tried all of them! While they’re labeled as HOT, that weren’t that hot. However, that could just be my tolerance kicking in. They were very good though, I even added them on top of my Huarache to give it a lil kick. ;) My son ordered 3 American style tacos with beef lettuce and cheese. He said they were«ok». I asked what that meant and he stated«not a lot of flavor to the meat». He’s had many tacos from various places around town, so I tend to believe him. All in all, its a good little locally owned place for a taco or whatever mexican dish you prefer. We’ll be back soon enough!

My fiancée found this place a little after we moved to winter springs. I have been here a couple times and thought the food was ok. I had a carne asada burrito but wish the meat had more flavor. Adding some hot sauce made it better but overall I felt it was lacking something. Plus is you do get plenty for what you paid for. I have also had the tamales which I enjoyed! I would get those again. What was nice is this place had a homey feel. Lady that took my order was warm and welcoming. I also did not wait long for my food. Even though this won’t be at the top of my go to places to eat, I would rather go here instead of taco bell!

Chilangos is a good, solid Mexican place. I started with the Chimichanga with pulled pork. I was a little disappointed that it lacked queso sauce. The pork was delicious but slightly under-flavored for my taste. The chips were slightly below average to my taste. Prices and service were both reasonable. The restaurant is decorated with pseudo-Pancho Villa theme in a strip plaza with a reputation for mediocre food and horrible service. It is the gem of the area, but there are far better gems to be found.
