Now on Main Street in Winters, CA. Beautiful shop and class space. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Owned by partner fabric & quilting store across the street. The classes offered here are what can get you hooked on knitting or crochet. Great selection of pattens, yarns and classes are offered.

This shop is now owned by Cloth Carousel(the quilt shop across the street) and let me say, they have made big improvements! My mother-in-law is a quilter and I crochet, so we took a trip up to Winters to look around. The staff is incredibly friendly, the selection is wonderful, and there is something for every price range. I love it here!

I love going in and looking at all the different types of yarn. When I’ve gone in I have had great service. A great place to go for help or buy yarn.

We were sitting at a restaurant just a few doors down outside and saw a sign that said the store was on the block and noticed it was just next door. Luckily it was still open after we finished our meal so my friend and I wander over and went in and as we walk in we asked are you still open because the look the lady gave us was more than unfriendly it was like REALLY? She did look at the clock and sighed and said yes. So we wandered in and it was a really cool shop with amazing yarns, cool accent furnishings and buttons, lots and lots of buttons. But there were some in baby food jars not marked so I asked if they were sold by the jar? Whoa that was the wrong question! With a big snappy NO they’re sold each! Well sorry they weren’t marked. So needless to say adorable shop, high priced and a crabby lady at the counter. You decide if you want to try it. But they do have amazing yarns.

Lots of nice yarn in a cute little store on a cute little street. That’s why I was so surprised at the unfriendly and unhelpful behavior of the woman who was working there. It just seemed so out of place. Usually people who work in places like this love to teach and share their love for the art of knitting and crocheting. The few questions I asked were answered with a curt yes or no without any follow up. I inquired about patterns and the woman just pointed vaguely to a wall. She was a very disinterested person. I don’t need to be catered to at all. I can get what I need and be on my way. It’s just that her behavior was so incongruent with the lovely setting.

For a small shop, they have a great selection. I’ve been here many times, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Decent prices, I just wish they had more space so that the selection could be bigger.

YARN. There is yarn in Yolo County, people! And it’s beautiful. Lots of styles, textures, colors, and natural fibers. And they have classes and nice folk that work there and I’m going to spend all my money there. I wish that wasn’t true but at least everyone will be wearing my fantastic creations as I go broke.

I love this little shop! Parri is so nice and customer service has always been top notch with her or her employees. They are willing to order items for you if they aren’t in stock. They are also very helpful when it comes to picking yarn, projects, needles, supplies, etc. They also have a nice collection of buttons and little kits and things! I always want to buy lots of things when I come in. This shop has moved, though, to Orange Drive(no longer in downtown Vacaville), so make sure to stop by and say hello so you know where to find quality yarn and quality people! I’m always super supportive of local private businesses like Spin A Yarn(with owners like Parri), and think they truly deserve the best exposure possible.

I love this little shop! I just started knitting, and then when I moved here I was so excited to find a specialty yarn shop. This one is great. They have a wide selection of yarns(all of which want a home in my stash but alas, I can’t buy them all!), and stock a good selection of needles and notions. I always walk in the door without a project in mind which is a big mistake. There’s so much here that you almost have to have something in mind, or else you’re going to end up with a lot of yarn in your stash«just because». If you’re a knitter, you know exactly what I mean! The prices are reasonable, and the staff is great. When I stop by I feel so welcome and at home. And for those ladies who have gentlemen along for the ride who start to sweat when they see a crafty store, there are a few strategically placed cozy chairs inside and sometimes a patio set outside for them to sit. If you’re a knitter and need supplies, consider supporting a local shop like this!

This little shop is worth a quick side trip if you are outlet shopping in Vacaville, or just rushing through on your way to Tahoe. It’s located in «Historic Downtown Vacaville», just 3 minutes from I-80 and there’s loads of parking. I found tons of stuff I wanted to buy, but limited my purchases to some Rowan baby alpaca, a pattern for a shawl, two sets of bamboo needles and some pumpkin orange speckled yarn I couldn’t leave the store without. The tea shoppe isn’t completely up and running, but the owner took the time to tell me all about her plans and it sounds like it will be nice. I’ll have to check it out the next time I’m in Vacaville.
