Let me start off by saying that I love this place. Their food is delicious! With that being said, I’m going to write about my experience tonight. I ordered my food at roughly 6:30 pm on a Tuesday night. Typically restaurants aren’t that busy at this time, especially in a tiny little town like Winthrop. Keep in mind I live 3 minutes, or about a mile away. I figured they were trying to get all the orders together, and have the delivery guy make the least amount of runs in and out of the restaurant. Finally the food arrives at a little over 7:30 pm, and I’m ready to dig into my Steak tips & Sausage dinner. No sausages to be found in my meal. I’m not here to bash, I’m just angry about the situation, and what better place to express this, than on a review. I called, and about 30 minutes later I received the rest of my meal.

I recommend getting any of the calzones here. The buffalo chicken large calzone could feed a small army. It is like a large buffalo chicken pizza and then they cover it with another large pizza then top it with more cheese.

Great service, great food, lots of menu choices! I went with the Chicken Kebab Salad, fantastic! It is a no kidding Diner and takeout. Don’t plan on a sit down meal, but great stop either way!

Ordered delivery from this place and the order taker was dumber than dog crap and didn’t seem to understand English. 3 times we asked for mayonnaise and pickles on my steak and cheese sub … 4th time would have been the charm because they left the sub dry and I do mean dry because there was perhaps one or two shavings of cheese. The fries were undercooked and my fiancé’s roast beef sandwich was completely missing the cheese she asked for on it. I was told the hot dog my fiancé ‘s father ordered was ok but it’s very hard to screw up a hot dog. The marinara sauce served with the mozzarella sticks was not sauce it was more like red water. Its shameful that this kind of corner cutting gets done. Especially where you can find other places in the area that serve and deliver the same type of food with better effort.

Must have a new chef… I ordered a couple of weeks ago and the pizza had pounds of cheese on it— to the point where it peeled off like a hard, thick school-lunch pizza kind of way. It also had a very sour taste to it… Pizza arrived, tasted awful… I immediately called them and informed them of such. Guy on phone agrees to re-make the pizza— I’m sceptical but he talks fast and reassures me that it will be better… I gave the delivery guy back the 1st pizza and he gives me the 2nd «better» pizza… I said a prayer— tasted it— and GROSS. Granted, there was wayyy less cheese. the cheese wasn’t any less sour. I’m done. I appreciate that when I called, the guy was willing to be helpful… I should have stuck to my grumbling gut and just asked for a refund. So sad to see Odyssey Grill get etched off of my Pizza list :(

Only giving it two stars because I’ve ordered from here has been good in the past. But I have called twice in the past 3 days to order food and the woman/girl who answered the phone was a rude b***. First call: they had 40 minutes to closing time. I asked for delivery and she gave me a passive aggressive«we’re backed up right now… But what do you want.» If you can’t do delivery, just say so! I obviously didn’t order. I just called today(7⁄23) at 6:30pm. They close at 10pm today. I was really looking forward to their food. When I said the word«delivery,» all I hear is a clear sigh of annoyance on the other line followed by quiet. I asked if there was a problem. Then she asked for my phone number. I told her to forget it and I’ll just call another place and discinnected the phone call. More venting: I don’t expect you to even be friendly over the phone. Just take the order without being so damn rude! tl;dr= good food. HORRIBLE customer service.

MGH nurses like Odyssey Grill! Can’t beat quick delivery and fresh food! Got the mediterranean chicken sandwich and greek salad; other orders included a gyro and chicken and broccoli pasta! Thanks for keeping our stomachs full while we run around caring for our patients!

This place is awful! I’d give negative stars if I could. The food was in edible! The roast beef was beyond cold with hard dark pieces of meat?(Mystery meat) I called for a refund and they wanted the food back??? I had already left for work and honestly not even my 160 lb mastif wanted to eat that table scraps and that says something! Save your money there are so many better places to eat.

I was really craving gyros. I found this place through Unilocal and most people raved about it, so I figured I’d give it a shot. +Pita was fluffy & soft –Gyro meat was so dry and overcooked I couldn’t even finish the gyro. –Curly fries & onion rings did not taste good either I guess my search for good gyro continues.

A little shop on the corner just as you cross over the bridge from East Boston to Winthrop. Got a roast beef sandwiche and an order of onion rings. Everything was done right… typical beef on typical bun with typical sauce. no better or worse than any of the others in the area… besides Kelly’s, which has outlived it’s reputation, and is now overpriced. If you’re nearby and want a quick RB sandwich, Odyssey is A-OK.

I should warn you that the Buffalo Chicken Fingers/tenders what ever they call them are sooooo addictive. They are not the frozen kind you get at most places, but actually raw fresh chicken. They are served battered and deep fried and smothered in a wonderful hot sauce. Even the blue cheese they give you is incredibly good and there is always large chunks to relish. I live close by and can walk there, thankfully. You’d think after 3 yrs I’d have gotten tired of them, but this hasn’t happened. If you are looking for great buffalo fingers, these are the best in the area. You wont find better. I generally do’nt order anything else from Odyssey, but 2 or 3 times per weeks I am all over that chicken. Some times I get them plain with hot sauce and Blue on the side cause I do have to share with my son.

Had an afternoon event catered and the food was amazing. Ordered food for 30 and I think we could have fed 50. It was delivered on time and looked beautiful. We wanted food that could be left at room tempeture on a warm summer day. We ordered greek salad they gave us 2 that looked like a work of art with 3 kinds of dressing. The chicken kabobs and steak tips were so tender and delicious you barely needed a knife. The grapeleaves were also displayed beautifully and delicious. I would recommend The Odyssey to anyone planning a party.

We have been ordering here for over 6 years, Food is great, but the punk answering the phone is an a-hole. My wife called and was very pleasant, but he talked to her like she was just another means to the end… him going home. He needs to learn customer service and have some sense of ownership! Learn to talk to customers dude! To add insult to injury, he forgot the pita bread with our salad. After 6 years, it is sad to say goodbye to Odyssey Grille, you will be missed. Bring the nice girl back, and we may return but I will not hold my breath.

I got a pizza and some buffalo wings and I wasn’t very impressed. the pizza i will say was my fault I got extra cheese and there was way too much(didn’t know that was possible) but I think with just normal cheese it would be good. Now the buffalo wings not so great but there is potential. I don’t believe they are fried they seemed baked which would not make them buffalo wings. The blue cheese they serve however is great its the right blue cheese for buffalo wings. I think I will just tell everyone the right way to make good wings so perhaps I can get some for football season. first — deep fry the wings twice this is critical for crispy wings. second the sauce if you gonna go the standard franks route use some tomato paste so the sauce sticks and use some butter if you want. Last and just as important never put cold or room temperature sauce on hot wings they will get soggy you have to heat the sauce.

Got delivery from Odyssey tonight for the first time, and I’m a little confused… but also a little delighted. I ordered through Grub Hub, and definitely ordered the chicken souvlaki plate with fries. My order arrived at my door within 30 minutes(awesome), but definitely appeared to be a chicken souvlaki pita… like I said, it was my first experience with Odyssey, but isn’t there a difference between a pita and a plate? Who knows. Anyway, the chicken souvlaki pita… WOW. Unbelievably delicious, to the point where I had to pause between bites and literally stare at the pita, attempting to understand how something could be so mouthwateringly incredible. The pita shell was soft and thick with a slightly crisp exterior and delicious wheaty flavor. The chicken inside was so moist and perfectly cooked that it made me wonder what’s been wrong with all of the other chicken dishes I’ve been eating throughout my life, because none of them have tasted like this. Perhaps best of all, the pita was complete with a decadent layer of feta cheese that melted around the perimeter of the pita and made the entire ensemble into one of the most satisfying and memorable meals I’ve eaten in a long, long time. I’ll be dreaming about the chicken souvlaki pita for a while, but the rest of the«plate» would have been better off left behind. The fries were a major disappointment, made up of mushy, greasy, soggy wedges of unsalted potato. I coated them in black pepper and drowned them in ketchup, which made them edible, but I still threw most of them away. There was also a weird iceberg salad included, which was totally unnecessary and came with a «Greek» dressing that tasted more like some kind of sour Ranch dip. Thank God I didn’t have to rely on Odyssey’s version of Greek dressing for the pita to be moist and juicy, or this review would have been very different. I will order that chicken souvlaki pita over and over and over again, but next time, I’ll know to skip the sides and save a little cash.

I usually grab a chicken kabob salad from them when I’m doing loads and loads of laundry next door at the laundromat. And while eating in the laundromat(yeah, I’m one of those people who just lounge in the seats while waiting for my clothes to finish drying), I always get asked where I got my dinner because it smells SOGOOD. I have no idea how they get their chicken to be so juicy and so perfectly seared, but they do an AMAZING job! Have also loved their gyro platter, but I stick to the chicken kabob salad. Best I’ve had! And it’s HUGE!

Odyssey is pretty good. Its a greek/italian take out delivery place. I am a fan of their spinach pie which looks to be soaked in butter but is so good. I am also a fan of the roast beef sandwich as well and all of the greek foods that they have such as kebab. The down side is like many other places in winthrop, they close way too early…9pm!
