Very underwhelming. Food was definitely overpriced. Waitresses seemed bored(probably because there weren’t enough customers to keep them busy). The view was good but not good enough to justify the cost of the food and the overall experience. Wouldn’t go back and we live right down the road.

Had not been here for many years. Stopped in with wife when another choice was closed. It was fortunate for us because dinner was excellent. We both ordered off the special menue. One lamb and a fish dish. Veggies interesting and not overcooked. Not large portions but perfect for us. One dinners starch was garlic mashed and the other an interesting grain that I could not identify. We shared two appetizers with a cranberry theme. The view of wiscasset harbor was amazing with large windows everywhere.

Fast friendly attentive service, with sweeping views of the river and perfectly prepared seafood, and interesting twists on traditional;l fare. Visiting Maine for the food? This is the place you seek. Been going to Maine since ’74, and this is the stuff.

Traveling up to north to Mt. Desert island, the usual route takes us through Wiscasset. I like Reds Eats but it was too hot to wait in line there. My friend likes Le Garage, which is located right across and down the street from Reds, but the last time we stopped at Le Garage, several years ago, I had a seafood tart that tasted of ammonia(going bad). So I more than hesitated to have lunch here again. It was a late lunch, after 3:00 so the place is fairly empty. We are greeted by a musty, stale odor as one walks into the foyer. This odor is such a turn-off. The place has dated, thick patterned carpeting that absorbed all the kitchen odors and tobacco odors over the years. They really need to get rid of that carpet. I settled on a «Blueberry Week» crab cake«lunch». It was just ok, the crab cake was a bit greasy and served with wilted mesclun greens that were not fresh accompanied by a few hard dry blueberries scattered on top. My friend had the lamb skewer with a few chunks of lamb and runny mashed potatoes. He seemed to enjoy the meal but at $ 19.00 it was a bit pricey for a barebones lunch plate. No rolls were offered, not even a few breadsticks. Our server was very pleasant though and kept the water glasses filled. The view is lovely.

This restaurant have an amazing scenery. However the food are over– priced and the taste of its own it is below average. I order a cup of shrimp stew and a crêpe of ratatouille. First the shrimp stew is very watery with no favour, so if you like water-down cream looking like soup with few shrimps in it, you probably like it. The crêpe is very slippy. It is really hard to eat. I can hardly finish the entire meal. This is a place seems to be for lots of loyal customers from the area. If you are visiting this place, ordering a coffee or some drinks will be a pleasing spot. But not really the food though.

Menu reads much better than what appears on your plate. Won’t return. Views are stunning.

We’ve eaten there several times and it is always fantastic. Perhaps the best crab cakes I’ve ever had. Low key and mostly local customers. Definately worth passing on Reds for an evening.

Was recommended this place by someone in Brunswick actually. Popped in for a drink and ended up staying for more drinks and food and good times! For food we had the strawberry flatbread(it was strawberry time there). It was amazing. Chef Nate deserves much props for his work. Everything tasted very fresh. Bartender Matt(and ALL the Brewer family employees) were awesome. Took great care of us and made us feel very welcome. Thank you!

We were camping at Chewonki Campground in Wiscasset and wanted to dine out one evening. I looked up restaurants in the area and stumbled upon Le Garage. We decided to check it out.(my husband, myself and our teenage son). We lucked out and were able to get a table by the window overlooking the water. Beautiful view. We had appetizer, three entrees, and drinks. The appetizer was a special I believe– Lobster, cucumber, mozzarella with a dressing. For entrees we had the Le Garage Newburg with Mixed Seafood, Lamb and Sirloin Tips. Delish. Service was good, no long waits for anything. We felt the prices were fair for what you were getting. Overall we were very happy we stumbled upon this place. Great view if you get a window seat, cute building, good service and food is unique and tasty. Would definitely go back if in the area again.

Absolutely beautiful atmosphere, delish apps and cocktails(which is all we stopped in for) and some of the most hospitable managers and servers I have come across in my many years of working in restaurants and dining in them. Loved how fresh local ingredients were highlighted on the special’s menu! Definitely stop in!

Very disappointed. I have been going to this restaurant for 35 years and have always loved it. Not this trip. No lobster or steamers on the menu, mashed potatoes that were so «runny» they took over the whole plate, the steak tips weren’t really«tips» but big chunks of beef with what tasted like canned gravy over the top. The menu was very limited and not at all like it used to be. I won’t go back.

Very mediocre and over priced. Service was friendly, but most of our food came out lukewarm to cold temperature wise. Two of us had the NY Strip special with chimichurri(yes after two weeks in Maine we wanted a break from seafood). Another had the duck, which he said was good if «lukewarm». NY Strip was cooked as ordered(medium) but other than that was blah. Chimichurri sauce was terrible, and accompanying veggies were mediocre(and cold). Dessert — blueberry pie. Had nice blueberry flavor but crust was somewhat lacking in flavor and the pie also was served mostly cold. The restaurant was not super packed and had adequate wait staff, so not sure what the issue was here.

Underwhelming — the food was fine at best. The french onion soup provided a promising start to the evening, but, sadly, it was downhill from there. Bisque was under-salted and salads were ho-hum. Perhaps intentionally bland to cater to undiscerning tourists paying from the view.

What a surprise. This place is a gem. Our waitress Barbara was so sweet and helpful. The food was great and you had a choice of small or regular size. I had the Wedge salad which was fresh and crisp. Then I followed with the. Crabby Mac and Cheese. Creamy, hot and chunks of crab meat. Nice hot fresh roll. It is Strawberry Rhubarb week so my husband had the strawberry, banana, rhubarb and pineapple chilled soup. He was very happy! Then he finished my salad and went right to dessert. Strawberry Rhubarb pie with vanilla ice cream. Again a happy man. We were seated by the window with a view of the harbor and a pleasant breeze. A shame we’re just visiting the area.

Pretty good food, awesome view and not all that expensive. It’s off the Main road so it isn’t all that busy. It’s a great find right on the water. Very nice place. Looks casual on the outside but very well done on the inside.

YUM! We sat in the window area looking over the water and had some great drinks and lunch. Great menu with plenty of options. Had one of the best reuben sandwiches I’d had in awhile. Spinach and artichoke dip was creamy and good. Service was good, everything was clean, and food tasted great. Would definitely go back.

Been going here for 25 years. It’s had its ups and downs although in that period I think it has only had 1 or 2 ownership/head chef changes. Was getting tired of the old menu — new one seems more diverse, although I will say this place has always had a thing for heavy creamy sauces — fine for some but not me. The biggest recent improvement is that the prices have actually dropped compared to inflation. We used to reserve this place for occasions when we felt like spending more, but now it’s more appealing anytime. Not haut cuisine, but we’ve never had a bad meal here. Desserts are all in-house or locally made, and are very reasonably priced — same with starters/salads — they usually get you on these things. Also to its credit, they don’t have a fryolator(nor does Sarah’s down the street). Wiscasset seems to be making a statement against frying everything, as in many Maine moderate and under restaurants. Good for them.
