This looks like a relatively new Panera. I really like the layout of the dining area. Their kitchen was also closed off except for where you pick up your food. I haven’t seen this design at other Paneras and I like it. They also had a TV screen showing your name and if your order was ready. Also underneath the counter where you pick up your food there was a variety of take home boxes, napkins, and other necessities. Its nice to have there so you don’t have to ask the people busy working on orders. They also had shelves built into the wall for phone and online orders. They were organized A-Z according to your name. Its nice that they have anticipated the busy lunch rush most Paneras encounter. I’d like to see these features in the Paneras in Madison. We got 2 breakfast sandwiches which were pretty good both on bagels. We didn’t wanna fork up the money for an overpriced breakfast at our hotel so nothing super special but for the price and size it wasn’t bad. I also got coffee which I don’t usually get at Panera but it was surprisingly good and I added caramel syrup for no extra charge which was nice. There is also a drive thru which I’ve never seen at a Panera I would be interested to see how that works. I know Panera can get busy at lunch so maybe they are trying to speed things up for their customers. The cashier and manager were both friendly and patient while I ordered and waited. It wasn’t busy so that was a plus. I’d be interested to see how this place does during a lunch rush and if the new design features help alleviate the long waits for lunch service I’ve experienced at other Panera Bread locations.

Best scone I’ve ever had! Great place– Friendly, roomy, clean, and great cinnamony scone and bagel. This may beat out Starbucks as my favorite reading place! Excellent salad, too. And the blond coffee labeled as ‘Medium’ is a coffee-taster’s treat, with plenty of subtle coffee flavors to it. As for convenience, Apple Pay works flawlessly here. So no scrabbling in pockets.

I have been to this Panera twice and both times they have screwed up my order. The first time I ordered a Turkey Sandwich to go. I should have checked the sandwich before I drove away, because when I opened the bag it was the completely wrong sandwich, some kind of panini. I was too far away to go back at that point. This past weekend I stopped again thinking the first time was a fluke. Nope. We ordered a turkey sandwich and the BLT, I told the cashier twice to make sure there is no avocado on the BLT because i’m allergic. After waiting for 20 minutes for our 2 sandwiches I finally got my order. This time I checked the bag before leaving the store and sure enough there was avocado on my BLT. Also, neither sandwich had the pickle that is supposed to come with(I love pickles, so it was a big deal for me). I had to wait again for them to fix my sandwich. It’s worth noting that while I was waiting there were several other customers with incorrect orders or missing items. One person ordered and paid for a soup that they didn’t even have that day and another had a missing sandwich. There seems to be no communication between the cashiers and food prep and I didn’t see a manager trying to control the situation. I also did not see any attempt by the employees or a manager to compensate any customer for their incorrect orders even though there is a sign that says they will give you a treat if they need to fix anything.

Overall, I continue to be disappointed by Panera and the Wisconsin Dells location is a perfect example of why. I was super excited to get a Panera here since there are virtually no fast casual options. We have given it 3 chances. There are always issues: wrong items on sandwich, bakery goods cleaned out, coffee not replenished. Today’s issue: my not chocolate was only 2⁄3 full and the rest was topped with whipped cream. I didn’t order whipped cream — I ordered a beverage which I expected to fill the cup. And there was so much chocolate in the cup, it was like syrup. So all of this plus Panera’s unfriendly vegetarian policies(make me pay for chicken on my salad when I request that it not be added) make me want to kick myself ever time I go here.

Wow, this place must have just opened and my wife said I better get my review online as first reviewer. Whew, made it online after visiting yesterday. We did some shoe shopping at the outlet store but was disappointed. At least, I got a shirt at Banana and she got a R2D2 bow at Hot Topic. Anyways, we wanted to get a quick bite to eat before driving back home from Milwaukee. So, we found this online but had to check again to be sure. Well, it exists and tucked away near the Great Wolf Lodge. The place must be a month old since everything looked brand new. The menu was a bit cleaner without too much detail. I got the cranberry walnut bread sandwich with chicken and apple. It was perfect with the black bean soup. She got the flatbread chicken with tomato basil soup. We got buzzers but was told to wait for our food to be delivered to us. This is such a welcome to the other Panera’s where you waited by the counter for your order. Meanwhile, everyone is running to get a table. The outdoor seating was nice as well but it was windy. Anyways, I give this place a solid 5 stars for service and attention to detail. Be sure to check this brand spanking new Panera on your way back from Milwaukee.
