Went to Wixom Street with my Uncle to watch the super bowl. I called first to see if we could watch it and if patrons were coming to see it. I was told yes… Ok we go, what shity service at the bar!!! The bartender had a serious attitude and outside eating her Cheetos n slurping on her big gulp service sucked!!! When we asked for more water it was like we had just asked for $ 100! Food came out… I ordered the Lobster Ravioli, boy I wish she could have told me, the sauce is sweet and it’s an acquired taste… My uncle had so much oil on his onion rings I could have given my car an oil change! Lastly the bartender begins to count her tips at the bar, and it was a suttle hint to get the hell out!!! As for returning??? Nah not anymore!

They don’t have a lot of options in their menu, but everything I tried so far was good. The ambient is typical for an American restaurant. Their margherita pizza is one of the best in the Great Detroit and their Entries(Calamari, Shrimp) and Michigan Salad are pretty good. I highly recommend this place.

Alyssa was a wonderful server who took care of all of our needs, even down to some very specific requests. The steaks were cooked exactly to our liking l, and Alyssa was incredibly attentive. I would definitely recommend Wixom Station to anybody looking to escape the chains of Novi! Five stars.

I really wanted to like this place but nothing won me over. Overview: Had an early dinner on a Sunday, 3:00pm, 4 adults and 2 children. Handful of people at the bar, 3 booths seated so the place was not busy. Greeted warmly at the door and seated right away. Server #1 appeared quickly to take drink orders and drop off the bottle of water as noted in other reviews. We received our drinks but were not ready to order yet and asked for a few minutes. A few minutes later Server #1 comes back with Server #2 beside her. At that point Server #2 seemed to take over, although there wasn’t any explanation for what was going on. We placed our orders — 3 entrees, 1 salad, 2 kids’ meals. Two of the adult entrees received their salads pretty quickly(and my wife asked for a glass of wine at that point) but I did not get the soup I had ordered. 5 – 8 minutes passed and my wife flagged down Server #2 so I could ask for my soup and my wife’s wine. Soup and wine were delivered, the soup was a tomato seafood chowder that lacked seafood. «Tomato vegetable chowder» would have been an appropriate name. Shortly after receiving my soup the meals were brought out, so I was less than halfway through eating my soup. My son did not get the BBQ sauce he asked for with his kid’s chicken fingers and my dish was wrong(ordered tortellini, fettuccine with chicken was brought out), which gave me more time to enjoy my vegetable chowder. The tortellini with chicken arrived a short time later and appeared to have been thrown together quickly, presentation was not appealing. All meals were«okay» to «pretty good», nothing stood out. Upon completion of dinner my kids asked for the scoop of ice cream that comes with a kids’ meal and were told no because kids eat free on Sundays and that does not include the ice cream. Needless to say my kids were pretty disappointed, so we went across the street to DQ. Food — 2 stars. Nothing was memorable or stood out. Service — 1.5 stars. Later in the meal Server #2 said it was her first week, so that partially explained the 2 server system. At times service was attentive, at times it wasn’t. Considering the restaurant wasn’t busy I expected better service. The cold way the Server told us the kids do not get ice cream on Sundays lost points, too. Décor — 3 stars. Interesting train meets taxidermy theme. I get the train part but the stuffed animals with train tracks coming out of mouths, etc. was a bit odd.

Another great meal at Wixom Station! We love coming here for happy hour and eating at the bar or a quick bite before a movie. The bartenders are great and the fish tacos and calamari are amazing! A must stop!

What a great place to eat, and a great atmosphere. The food was some of the best I’ve ever had. The salads were cold, fresh and crisp. The steak had great flavor and cooked to order. The staff were great as well. Very attentive and knowledgable of the foods they offered. Will definitely be going back.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience here! We started out with the hand-battered, fried FRESH mushrooms. They were not frozen or mushy and perfectly fried. The salad was so fresh and the produce was cold and crisp. The house vinaigrette was perfect. We both had the NY strip steak and it was prepared with a zip sauce. It was perfectly cooked to order and the manager, Katie told us that all of their steaks are hand cut, in house. It was just as good if not better than any steakhouse. We had the tiramisu for dessert and it was heavenly. We will most definitely be back!

Went to try a new restaurant for a change for a Friday. OUTSTANDING! I had the white fish with rice and a touch of vegetables in it. Just the right combination. My wife had the Flat Iron Steak with Red Skin garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. The Flat Iron Steak their homemade Zip Sauce was«Unbelievable». We ate at the bar and Maureen & Liz were gracious and Outstanding. If you’re looking for a place to eat out simple, home made, and tasty stuff. Come here. This was our first time and you couldn’t have asked for a better ambiance and great food. Thank you!

I came here Saturday night with the date and we both really loved eating here. We both were impressed with the menu, décor and service. We happened to drive by on the way home and decided to stop in here to grab a bite to eat. What a great experience! For starters, the place wasn’t to busy but it was also 10PM so we didn’t expect much of a crowd at that hour. The décor is clean and we felt comfortable right away. After scouring the menu, the date went with the fish and chips, and I went with the Spinach dip and onion rings. We both tried each others food and really loved what we had. We sat at the bar since the main dining room was closed for cleaning.(really?) so we had to sit in the bar area. The bartender was awesome, getting us drinks and serving us our food. She checked in on us several times and was a pleasure to be around. Overall, I would gladly come back to eat here. Granted, I wasn’t thrilled about the dining room being closed an hour before the restaurant shut down, but hey, if it’s a light crowd I can’t decide those sorts of things. We sat at the bar because it was easier for us and our experience wasn’t any worse for the ware because of it.(we just would have preferred a table.) Overall I will be back in the future for more…

I had heard good things about this place so I was excited to try it. Being local I figured I would support local business. My Sunday lunch visit with the family was probably the worst restaurant experience I’ve have in a while. First off my wife and I ordered sandwich entrees and we’re going to order an appetizer for the kids to share due to the ridiculous price of kids menu items($ 6.25). But then I saw at the bottom of the kids menu that kids eat free on Sunday’s with the purchase of an adult entrée, so I ordered the kids meals and still got an appetizer. My meal came out tasteless(NY steak sandwich) and the bread was completely soggy. Also the steak was not trimmed and contained tons of fat and gristle. My wife’s chicken sandwich was equally tasteless and her bread was even soggier than mine. My daughter had the kids pasta which looked more like Alfredo soup with noodles and my son had the chicken strips which were so crunchy and well done he could barely chew(he is 2yo). I had to remove the batter to help him eat. Even after all this I tried to keep a positive attitude where at a restaurant chain I would have been talking to a manager. After we finished eating we received the bill. They had charged me for the kids meals! I asked why and the waitress responded that my wife and I did not get entrees. Well those nasty sandwiches were $ 10 and $ 12 meals where most dinner entrees were $ 10-$ 15. I don’t understand how we paid the same amount but our kids meals would not be covered. We picked sandwiches because we thought it was a safe choice. But not as though that was enough the waitress said that the kids free deal was Sunday after 3pm. The menu DIDNOTSAYTHATATALL. There was no mention of time, just that Sunday kids meals are free with adult entrée. I think we would have had a better Sunday lunch at jimmy johns. This will be my first and last visit to Wixom station. I will support the other great restaurants in the city.

I feel a bit harsh giving it 3 stars but I came to Wixom Station a few times, and it’s just average. There’s nothing ‘wrong’ with that, but when you have to put a place on a a scale I just don’t see this being four or 5 stars. They do some things well and others not so much. The calamari was good, but not all that memorable. The steak tips appetizer had a lot of business on the plate, and the flavor just wasn’ there. My two top favorite entrees was the lobster ravioli in what I believe was a saffron cream sauce. There was sun dried tomatoes on there as well. I also had a seafood pizza that was crispy on the bottom, and gooey up top. It has been a couple months since my last visit, but as my friends discussed places to take our out of town guess Wixom Station came up. It was promptly followed by a ‘I just wasn’t all that impressed and it was average.’ Sometimes you need food to simply sustain you, and that’s what my grocery shopping is for or fast food on a road trip. When I’m seeking a nice sit down lunch or dinner place i’m seeking an adventure and a level of quality I can’t achieve on my own. I don’t feel Wixom Station gives that to me.

Went here for dinner with the family to celebrate a birthday. The service was wonderful — our waitress was really friendly and helpful. I liked the atmosphere and the setup of the restaurant. Recommend: the spinach dip — the homemade bread crisps are awesome! Stay away from: the pizza. It was terrible. It kind of tasted like frozen pizza. I’ve actually had frozen pizza that was better than this. The pizza came out and it wasn’t cooked enough, nor warm enough. It was really disappointing. I’d go back and try something else. Everyone else in my party appeared to like the restaurant. Overall just pretty average.

The 8 ounce filet mignon was expertly cut from a loin so it is cut fresh. I ordered mine cooked medium the steak was prepared expertly and cooked to perfection I have had steaks at Morton’s and Ruth’s Chris Steak House and they do not even come close to this steak. Rachel was our server and she was fabulous very attentive never letting the glasses get empty. It was so good it will make you wanna slap yo mama. For dessert I had the Italian lemon cream cake it was white and fluffy with a hint of lemon zest and very creamy. This was served with an after-dinner coffee a dark roast version of a Vienna blend it was not bitter with a hint of a spicy note with cream it was the perfect after dinner drink. This particular dessert is so tasty it will make your tongue lick the side of your face so hard it will slap your brains out.

I like this place. It’s cute, though the décor is a little confusing. The train station themed accents and light fixtures are super cute. The animal carcasses on the wall, not so great. Were they hit by trains? We’ve been numerous times now and have always left full and satisfied. The service has always been great, very pleasant and attentive waitstaff. They’ve been very tolerant of our one year old daughter as well. Hostess lacked personality on our last visit and seemed annoyed that she had to get us a highchair. Update on our last visit we had a very sweet and accommodating hostess. So far we’ve tried the fried pickles(strips are unusual but awesome), artichoke dip(not the best we’ve had but the house made tortilla is very good), fish and chips which is a huge portion and the best in the area in my opinion, lobster ravioli(super rich), spare ribs and onion rings, pesto pasta. Everything is very tasty, though pricey. I love that you get a bread basket, so few places do this anymore and it’s such good bread, great accompaniment to the pasta dishes. The house salad that comes with the entrees is really nice also with fresh greens and crisp fresh veggies. The Caesar salad is very good as well. Recently tried the tortellini, chicken piccata and fried mushrooms. The mushrooms were the stand out. We figure they lightly roast the mushrooms before battering them and the result is amazing. The mushrooms are juicy and so full of flavor while the batter remained crispy and not at all soggy. Overall the experience is a pleasant one. The food is very good, service is great and atmosphere is pleasant. The one thing keeping it from five stars from me is the price. It is pretty expensive for the area and therefore not a place we put into our regular rotation. Reserved for special occasions, it’s a good choice for our family.

Ok, just like everybody else, I really wanted to like this place. Wixom is starving for a more bustling downtown with great restaurants. But overall Wixom Station is quite average. It’s essentially a pricier ‘Rusty Bucket’ restaurant with a little worse food. Ambience: 4. Nice theme with the trains. Going for a little trendier look, Edison bulbs and all. Not bad. Felt cozy and good outdoor seating. Quick seating for us on a Saturday night around 7:30. Service: 4. Again, seating was prompt with smiling girls at the door. Server was attentive but complained a bit of being tired. I don’t mind the friendliness and ‘camaraderie’ of that approach, but it doesn’t earn you stars for professionalism. Food/drinks: 2 – 3. 2 because I’ve been there twice and I wouldn’t order the same food again. Had the burger(looked and tasted like a frozen Bubba burger), and the wings were maybe 3 star wings, but 10 wings for $ 11 come on! My wife had the chicken Parmesan and liked it a lot. But again, $ 16.50? Just too pricey. That’s the theme here. Average food that’s too expensive. As far as drinks, only 7 beers on tap and this was the second time the beer menu was not updated with the current beer selection. Not a big deal if you only have 7 to choose from, but I feel like nowadays you’ve got to have more to compete. Price/Value: 2. This really is the issue. I can put up with average food, but just like everyone else’s complaints here on Unilocal, everything is just a few dollars more expensive than it should be: $ 11 for 10 wings, $ 16.50 for chicken parm, $ 7 Pilsner! The salad was a bit small for its price too. Just enough negatives to make me wish there was another go to. I see the manager comments on these many posts, hopefully they implement some changes based on the feedback.

We had dinner here with some good friends and had a great time. The ambience is really nice with the hanging trains and the clock wall. We tried the pastas, sandwiches, salads, the spinach artichoke dip and a couple of desserts. Good reviews on the food from the table. My favorite was the lemon Italian crème cake. delicious!!!

The train is in motion. Ambience 3.5: the ambience is nice. It has ornamental trains hanging from the ceiling and TV’s scattered around the restaurant/bar. The eating area is large and it has a nice size bar. It seems to have a minor identity crisis. This may be due to some of the previous decorations left over from the valore but it comes across as a fancy restaurant with a sports bar feel. Food/drinks 3: I am a bit of a beer highbrow, so I found the beer selection to be only average. With all the latest restaurants opening up with a large craft beer selection, I was slightly disappointed with the draft beer list. Maybe my expectations are too high. Having said that, they had a fairly good whiskey selection, which I liked. I ordered the steak bites and my son ordered the filet. He ate the entire filet and seemed be fairly happy with it. My steak bites were ok, nothing spectacular. They were prepared pretty good but seemed a little rubbery. I am used to them being bathed in zip and/or garlic sauce, these were with mushrooms and peppers, which is how it was described but personally not to my taste. Service 4: I recieved very good service. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. She was always close by but not intrusive. Overall 3.5: this is my second time here and overall I had pleasant experiences. I wouldn’t highly recommended but as a local spot it’s ok.

Not an entirely positive experience, but not the worst either. A plus and minus here and there. Always looking for something new and unique, I was glad to see this place open in the little downtown Wixom area. I decided my boyfriend’s birthday would be a great opportunity. We pulled into the parking lot and literally got the last parking spot in the back. We were worried there might be a huge wait and almost went elsewhere. Well, much to our surprise, the place wasn’t even half full! There obviously isn’t enough parking available. Once inside, we were immediately seated in the dining area which includes booths, wooden tables and chairs standard, and the wooden high top tables and chairs. We chose a high top in the corner for privacy. You may want a different table, this one wobbles quite a bit. There was an odd odor that dissipated after we were there for a few minutes. kind of like a dirty dishrag. Maybe it was my imagination.dunno. You can also sit on the other side of the restaurant, the bar area. They serve all tables water in rock glasses, no ice. accompanied by a large bottle of water — the one brought to our table was not at all chilled. Still keeping an open mind. we ordered two appetizers to split among 3 people, more than enough. The eggplant was accompanied with a palomino type sauce, it was good. The spinach dip came the most amazing tortillas. I would go back just for the tortillas! Warm and soft but substantial enough to hold the dip. We like to pace ourselves and not order everything all at once, our waitress kept asking if we were ready to order. We finally told her we were in no hurry. We were concerned when our waitress took our order and didn’t write it down… worried because she told us it was her 3rd day. She was the type that when you ask about the menu, she says everything is good. but after asking what she has actually eaten, it’s like only 3 or 4 things. When she brought our food, she did forget a couple things that we had to remind her of. My bf ordered the filet, he liked it but said the rice it came with was oily and bland. The rest of us had burgers and they were decent. The burger comes with fries, but don’t expect a generous portion. We both commented on how little of fries we were given. perhaps they were running low? Drinks are pricey. I ordered a top shelf Long Island for $ 12.00. It was very Coke-y and I doubt top shelf. I didn’t order another. It would of been nice to have my bf’s birthday acknowledged… no singing and clapping, maybe a scoop of ice cream or something to share. I’ll give it another chance, but I’m not running back soon.
