My wife is allergic to gluten and loves SSWW but they’re only open until 330pm. How the hell are people with jobs supposed to spend money here?

If you just started eating gluten free, come here first. If you’re a gluten free expert, ditch whatever products you eat and come here. SSWW has a wide range of products, from sweet to savory. Cakes, brownies, cookies, breads, pastries, pies, pizza, pita chips, and more. They are always putting out new and seasonal products too! They are certified gluten free. No nuts are used either, and most products are without dairy. I eat gluten free(for the most part, except when I have an opportunity to write a review for Unilocal ;)) Sandy and Christine are the owners who are super helpful and accommodating. The rest of the staff is friendly and courteous as well! Only open during the week, but they are happy to reserve products if you call or email ahead of time!

My friend and I met Christine at the Whole Foods in Lynnfield this afternoon and tried the Cinnamon bread, Harvest bread, and Jalapeño bread. I’ve been gluten free(allergy) for over three years now, and I can’t believe I haven’t tried these breads sooner! My friend couldn’t believe they were gluten free either. They cost more than the usual Udi’s or Rudi’s, but the loaves are way bigger and not«holey» like the others. You actual get your money’s worth. Christine and her associate were beyond friendly and even gave us ideas for the bread(cinnamon as French toast and the jalapeño toasted and cubed as a topping for chili). Can’t wait to visit the bakery soon.

I come here every time it’s a holiday or special occasion. You can’t find a gluten AND dairy free bakery very often. The cupcakes, whoopi pies and brownies are great. It is a little pricey, but worth it!

Now I’m getting Unilocal spam from their friends who are upset I don’t like this place. Grow up.

Great! Thank you for accommodating me in the rush I was in this morning. Delicious gluten free treats for the morning! Located in an industrial area. Actual bakery on site. Smaller selection of baked goods out front but there is plenty in the back, so ask if you want something you don’t see!

The cake part of the cake is good. But the frosting is unfortunately not natural or made with butter but seem to be the same kind of waxy frosting that you get in the grocery store. It is some kind of vegetable shortening and is pretty much inedible.(Whole foods uses real butter in their buttercream.) The decorations is nice. The price is very high though. I think I will make my own cakes from now on.

I have been gluten free for 2 ½ years, and I have a serious sweet tooth, so I am always on the look-out for great bakeries. This one definitely impressed me. I first found out about this bakery, because we carry some of their items at the school that I work at, so, I decided to visit the store front itself so that I could sample more goodies. I was not disappointed! Christine, who is one of the owners, was so nice and welcoming! Everything that I tried was wonderful, but my favorites are their whoopie pies, cranberry bread(great for sandwiches) and pumpkin bread. I will definitely be heading back there soon!

I am very dissatisfied and hurt by the type of service I received from the owner Christine Penny. So much in fact that I will never buy or eat any of the stores products again. I have a gluten and dairy allergy and I bought my Husband a custom made Guinness birthday cake for him for his surprise party of June 1st. I paid over well over $ 100 for this cake and the cake I order and the cake I received(It didnt even say Happy Birthday Jon on it) were 2 different cakes and I showed a picture of what I wanted before placing the order. When my sister went to pick up the cake(shaped like a cake, but all cupcakes which I ordered) she texted me a picture of the cake and I was very unhappy with it. I called the Woburn Store where I purchased the cake and left a message and then called the Arlington Store which was opened on Saturday and spoke to the owners son I believe his name was Joe. He was very nice and contacted Christine who called me back later that day, Now I am getting to why I will never give the company my money… After talking to Christine who knew I was not happy, she offered to send me a gift card on Monday, June 3rd and said I would have it that week. I live in Stoneham and the company is in Woburn, about 6 miles from my house. At the end of the week I still had not received my gift card which I was hoping to go to the Arlington Store that weekend to try their new cookie ice cream sandwhich(dairy free coconut ice cream between 2 choclate chip cookies), but my gift card did not come. I called June 10th and spoke to Christine who said she didnt know how to spell my last name or knew the street number of my address although she had ALL my information at least my phone number from when I ordered the birthday cake and from when I left it on the machine on Saturday so she didnt send it out yet. She said it would go out Tomorrow and I should receive it by Wednesday. It is now Thursday, June 13th almost 2 weeks from my Husbands party and the time I spoke to Christine and I have yet to receive a gift card. At this point I dont even want the gift card and wont shop or eat any of their products again. Both of us being from the same Town, we are both from Stoneham and I have said nothing but good things about this company. If you cant come through for one local customer then I cant give my money or good review for the same local company. I had to give one star in order for me to post this comment. I wouldn’t of given any starts due to the service.

Small but nice, clean bakery and helpful owner. We didn’t love the pizza or cookies but they are good for GF! The brownies and bread are great.

So my mom is gluten free and soy free, so it is so hard for her to find food that she can eat! Before developing these allergies(About 5 years ago) she used to eat so much, bake so much, cook so much– and now she doesn’t because she can’t even enjoy it. Last year for christmas I got her a gluten free bread cook book, which she liked, but had to buy all 20 ingredients that were expensive to make anything! Now she just does the pizza dough. Her biggest complaint about gluten free stuff is that it just never tastes the same. Having been in the area last weekend, I have never seen a gluten free bakery, or at least a bakery completely devoted to this– so i had to check it out! I left with SO much to bring home for my mom. I tried to get a general mix of everything– i got a banana bread, whoopie pies, brownies, chocolate chip cookies, lemon cookies, and a few other decorated cookies. Needless to say, my mom was so impressed and so happy! As a gluten-free food connosieur, she said everything had LOTS of flavor and tasted as similar to real food as it could! She finished the cookies immediately. My dad and I, who try not to eat gluten-free, tried the banana bread– and I liked it better than normal breads! so fresh! Overall, my mom(and myself) were really impressed. I think it is such a good idea to offer a completely homemade, gluten-free bakery, because the sensitivity/allergy is so much more prevelant! The manager was very professional and informative, and seems to really understand the customers and buisness! I really hope to see this place stay around– and maybe even expand so that my mom can get stuff without traveling far!

Just grabbed some goodies at their Arlington location and the reason why it’s only three stars is because I want to try more. Their herb bread is amazing — makes an incredible grilled cheese! The cinnamon raisin bread is kind of dense but still delicious. I also got their lemon cookies, which are supposed to be their speciality — at 170 calories per cookie, I’m slowly finishing the package by nibbling off the icing, which is fantastic, but the cooking leaves a lot to be desired. All in all a great experience though and I have to say, they are the NICEST people to interact with. There’s another GF bakery in the area that’s not known for their service and these ladies are the sweetest and most caring people — they really are a pleasure to do business with!

I stopped by here the day before my wedding to see if I could find some gluten-free cupcakes for one of my bridesmaids so that she wouldn’t have to miss out during cake time at the reception. The woman who helped me — I think she was one of the owners — was super nice and very helpful, and the price of the cupcakes was surprisingly low compared to other gluten-free places I had researched online. The best part of the whole experience was seeing my friend’s eyes light up as she took her first bite of cupcake — she said it was delicious, and saved the stickers from the package so that she could go back and get more of their treats. Thanks, Something Sweet!

It’s 3 A.M. but the gluten & dairy free chocolate chip cookie was so good I had to write a review… OMG. This cookie is moist, solid, crumbles apart perfectly, and just tastes like heaven. It tastes so good I feel sorry for the allergy-free suckers who believe Famous Amos cookies are the best on the planet. They aren’t dry and they don’t fall apart like most gluten free baked goods. Everything about this cookie was A M A Z I N G. Oh yea the best part is they are 80CALORIES, 11CARBS. I thought I could give up sugar completely, but these cookies have me re-thinking my diet strategies.

Something Sweet Without the Wheat is great! I buy their muffins primarily, sometimes chocolate covered macaroons, and banana bread — everything is awesome, I highly recommend them. You would never know it is gluten free. I buy them mostly in Quincy at the Good Health natural foods store on Hancock St, they specialize in gluten free food there.
