Valley Tree Service

I have hired Valley Tree Service a few times over the past 20 years. Jeff is extremely professional and nice. He listens to what you want, offers his professional guidance, and cleans up afterwards. He does beautiful canopying of trees, knowledgeable fruit tree pruning, and general overbrush growth. When he leaves it looks like I had a team of gardeners at my place. No need to go anywhere else.

Jeff and his team removed a lot of trees from our back yard including two very tall pines, a big oak and several dead and overgrown others. They worked hard, left us some good firewood for next year, cleared up well and even removed a branch from our neighbor’s tree at no additional charge.

I have been using Valley Tree Service for at least 20 years. I have a large wooded property in San Geronimo Valley and Jeff Calderon, the owner, has always been there for me when I needed help with my trees. He has saved me several times with emergencies such as removing fallen trees or eliminating dangerous situations. His prices have consistently been reasonable/​fair (I have often had other bids to compare) and his work is good. He knows what he’s doing and has a talented, competent crew that have been with him for many years. He isn’t one to press for excessive work and always gives me good advice. I trust him to do pruning that needs a good ‘eye’ as well as large tree removal/​thinning type work. His team always takes care to clean up and leave me feeling that they did a good job. Jeff is a nice guy and I like supporting a local small business. I whole heartedly recommend his service. I tried to give them 5 stars but Unilocal did drop the review so I had to repost with 4.

The team at Valley Tree Service is very nice, however, our experience was that after the lead fellow left the site, the sub manager went overboard on some of the pruning and «was not clear on the concept». Of course, trees grow back. But it took a while. I wish the guy would have come and gotten me to ask me how severely I wanted our gingko tree, especially, to be pruned, because it was «not that» severely. I have found another service that is much more specific about their work. And, if I could not get anyone else and had an emergency, I’d call Valley but would be out there with them while they did the work. Again, very nice guys, not bad work, just felt like the workers didn’t get a clear idea of what was wanted after the lead guy left.
