Went in to purchase archery items and man, from the minute I walk in I get stared at by employees. No, not with a smile, not hello, and especially not a hi may I help you, they look, and turn the other way like they’re busy, mind you this on a Monday afternoon. I had to solicite employees for questions about there products. The guy at the archery lane told me to pick any crossbow and call it a day. Honestly, how many ignorant people can be hired at one store? When the same employee finally saw I was serious to buy, he changed his attitude. Lastly, i was supposed to receive complimentary bow service at the time of the purchase but the same employee failed to mention all the benifits and instead opted to repeat the one time fee of 20 dollars. Btw he was THE archery guy. Thanks for cheating me. With northern Virginia being so diverse, I am shocked to experience ignorance like this. When I called the manager and expressed to him that I purchased the protection program, that I was suppose to receive complimentary services for my $ 500+ bow. He said he wasn’t familiar with the program and that he would call me back. I already knew that call wasn’t coming. Come to gander mountain and get CHEATED! Gander has the products, but if your like the 63% of the population in United States aka MINORITIES, be prepared to experience lack of customer service. Or any service.

Been here three times. Always shocked at the prices, especially on the clearance rack. $ 49.95 is not clearance. Thanks Gander Mountain for letting me stand at your gun counter like an idiot for more than 15 minutes tonight with no help from anyone while your store was next to empty. You helped me keep $ 600 in my pocket a few days longer.

It’s crowded on the weekends. I went to buy a revolver on a Saturday, knew what I wanted, but it took a while to get the attention of someone to sell it to me. I have gone back to the firearms section on two workday evenings and once it was better and once about the same. That needs some improvement. 3 stars for that section. Prices for what I have bought there seem reasonable. 4 stars for prices. I had to return two items and that was very easy to do. 5 stars for that good customer service. Overall, it comes to a 4-star rating.

Ever wonder what it’s like to be in a Zombie Apocalypse? Then come into Gander Mountain on a Wednesday afternoon. It was so empty that I thought it would be fun to pretended to scour for supplies while being extremely vigilant at the same time. There was some lady at the checkout line aimlessly walking back and forth. I made little noise walking by her because I didn’t want her to see me. No other scavengers in the store… it all felt so creepy. If your looking for football, basketball, baseball, or soccer equipment then you better go to Dicks. If your looking to trap something, catch something, kill something, explore the wilderness, or load up on ammo then come to Gander Mountain. Just come on the weekend…

Great Customer Service, Friendly associates, will make this my Go To place. Full range of gear to go hunting, fishing or camping. Great feature, if they don’t have your size can get it shipped in in a couple of days.

Have to update after friend bought a firearm from them. I thought intimidation/commission based sales tactics had gone out of business with the gross Circuit City(and for good reason). BZZZZZ. WRONG. Then I found this place. They actually started insulting my friend by insinuating he was poor, since he wasn’t buying ammo or accessories. It was disgusting. If you’re feeling nostalgic over those good ol’ Circuit City days, then this place may be for you. Otherwise I recommend going to Sharp Shooters 20 minutes up I95 in Springfield.

Expensive. Lots of pistols and high dollar prices. A used S&W .357 selling at new prices. Ammo isn’t cheap. Not going back.

Not really a sporting goods store. This is a gun, ammo, hunting, fishing store. My first time in Gander Mountain. Picked up a nice Sig Sauer sporting rifle and Cody(ex military) sales person was very helpful. I knew what I wanted going in after researching online and really wanted to get a hands-on feel before purchasing. Several in-stock to chose from and the online inventory was true to what the store had in hand. Some used inventory to chose from as well. Cody took the time to answer my questions, suggest accessories, help me pick-out and chose extras and walk me through the in-store purchasing process. Suggested alternatives to the popular named brand products that work just as well and this was appreciated. Background check and paperwork takes less than15 minutes if you have a clear background. Process is easy and painless. Buy the extra ~ $ 30 in store warranty as you won’t have to deal with shipping charges to FFL or other«hassle» and can just bring the rifle back to Gander gunsmith /customer service who will try to fix or ship to their PA mega-location to attempt to fix. Also includes one«servicing /cleaning». Will buy from them again.
