Applebee’s

Slowest and worse Applebee’s in the area. Took the waiters awhile to get to us and it took a much longer time for them to put in our orders and to get to us (my family of 5 and I). It was not busy at all but about 25 minutes later, my family got their food besides me. Asked about it, and I still didn’t get it until about 15 minutes later. The manager then found out about what happened and offer my family free dessert as she didn’t want them to wait and watch me eat. Once I finally got my food, my family didn’t even get their dessert as promised. Thought we’d give it another two tries, but nothing changed. even with different staff on the floor. Very disappointed and will not be coming to this Applebee’s at all anymore.

Boy has this place ever gone down hill. But that’s typical of corporate restaurant chains I suppose.
My latest experience here (I was invited by my niece or I would have chosen a different place to go), had me trying to order a burger, which I asked for ‘medium’. The waitress responded «is that pink or no pink?» I repeated «I would like it cooked medium». She looked confused, and asked again «is that pink or no pink?» Now I couldn’t believe my ears. I said «are you kidding me? You won’t cook a medium burger by request?» She told me that Applebees now only offers ‘pink or no pink’ for doneness on their meats.
I ordered a random pasta dish instead because I refuse to order a ‘pink or no pink’ piece of beef. If a restaurant has that little faith in the quality of their product, and the ability of their cooks to execute the food to the customer’s liking, then I don’t want your food.
Oh, and the pasta dish I ordered was terrible. Some kind of cream sauce that just tasted like plain cream.
I will never go to an Applebees again unless invited, and in that case I will stick with a cheap appetizer.

Walked in at 2 pm on a Sunday. Not very busy at all. Sat down and waited for at least 20 min. No server came to see us! We were disgusted and left. Other servers were there, cleaning off tables etc but totally ignored us. Ugh. Never again.

Just had the best food ever. Ordered online to go. It was ready to when I got there right when they said it would be ready. Great customer service from the bartender. I was so impressed that they separated the wonton tacos into fix yourself when you get home so they were not soggy by the time we got home great thinking. And the food was excellent I can’t wait to get APPLEBEES TO-​GO again.

Called in over the weekend to see how late the kitchen was open, they said midnight. We walked in at 1149 pm, told they were closing, sorry. Went to Friday’s in Maplewood, they were open and taking money. Whodathunk???

When I first came to this location, the food was good and service was decent. My last two visits here just got worse and worse. I ordered the sirloin steak with a baked potato and steamed vegetables. The steak had no seasoning on it, it tasted extremely plain (I swear the first time i ordered steak here it wasn’t half bad… now it’s just all bad). I order it medium rare. The texture was gummy and the steak just wasn’t cooked proportionally. Some parts would be medium rare other parts would be way too rare or burnt. The waitress didn’t come around for a while to refill my drinks, she was gone for about 20 to 25 minutes and this is at a time when the place wasn’t busy at all (around 10:45pm on a Thursday).
The other complaint is on my steamed vegetables. They give a combination of carrots, zucchini, and broccoli. The broccoli was gigantic! It literally was as big as my hand making a fist. Why Applebee’s doesn’t chop down this mega broccoli to eatable portion sizes I don’t know. It was also pretty tough… as in not boiled or steamed long enough to soften the texture.
My last issue here is on the chicken wings. Is it just me or are the traditional wings with their bones protruding out of the meat weird looking? It doesn’t look like a normal chicken wing to me, the bones are half popping out of the meat, not just for one wing, but all the wings. Are these chickens fed so much steroids that the muscles just push their bones outside of their bodies??? For real… just really weird looking chicken wings.
The food quality here has gone downhill big time. For great food nearby this location, go to the Green Mill off Century Avenue and hwy 94. So far, it’s only been great service and excellent quality food there. Something Applebee’s in no way compares to.

We usually utilize the curb side pick-​up and we always have consistent food, service etc. I didn’t give 5 stars just bc it’s nothing spectacular just your typical restaurant chain. Can always trust on nights I don’t want to cook that what is ordered will be good & correct.

They’ve cleaned it up and it is back
To being a typical Applebee’s. You know, it isn’t gourmet, but some of the food is pretty good. My in-​laws love to eat there. I do like
Their Oriental Salad. :-)

Poor service and food. Ordered steaks which had no flavor and were very rubbery.

Applebee’s is by no means a 5 star restaurant, but this Applebee’s, to me, is 5 stars at night. The day crew often has that grumpy-​seeming lady that waits tables, but at night (after 4) when my friend and I go get half-​off-​apps, the entire team is really nice and friendly. We have gone so many times, they know us by name and know exactly what we get to drink and the manager and waitresses actually sit down and talk to us about what’s new and they ask us questions about ourselves.
You will get Applebee’s food at any Applebee’s, but this restaurant is right down the street from my house and it is very affordable, and with their friendly service this makes it the best Applebee’s I’ve been to.

We got the appetizer sampler and the artichoke dip was burned on top and the rest of the sampler was just ok. Had it at other locations and this was the worst. Our server didn’t pay much attention to us and when my wife complained about her dirty wine glass all the server did was rise it out in the sink in the bar and gave it back instead of getting a clean glass. It was still dirty. We wanted pay our check and leave but she took forever to bring it to us and never came back to our table to take our card. Instead she was busy talking to other employees and so we had to walk up to the bar to pay her and she only noticed us because another employee said we needed to pay. And the bar and rest of the restaurant wasn’t busy by any means. We’ll never go back to this location again.

First trip back to an Applebee’s in quite some time. We were there with a large group (30 + people) and had called ahead to give them a heads up. They were nice enough to set aside a whole section for us; however they only had one poor server for the whole section. With almost 40 people arriving at close to the same time, the server was very overwhelmed which made for slow service.
We had an appetizer — I think it was called won ton taco’s that were pretty tasty and I would order them again.
Typical Applebee’s; however in Cottage Grove it seems better than other options available.

They re-​did the interior which upgrades the appearance of the place. The service I have gotten here has been very average. I say that with regard to getting re-​fills, coming back to the table when ready to order, or checking in towards the end of the meal for boxes and tab. All of which hasn’t gone well. The music is jammed way too loud for the enclosure.
The food is obviously standard Applebee’s fare. I would recommend the Queso Burger.

Standard Applebee’s food. Do not sit by the Target view window on a cold day or night unless you want to wear your winter coat during your meal. Service was OK but it seemed like drinks are being pushed. It was around 12 noon, a little early for me.
