The food was excellent. The spicy tuna sandwich and seaweed salad are definitely worth ordering. However, the service was terrible. Our waitress was extremely rude. She rushed us to order, during our meal, and with the bill. When I asked for a container to package our leftovers, she rudely slammed the silverware in our face. Absolutely rude server.

Ok. we didn’t know what to expect. But we were pleasantly surprised at just how good a «close to home» place could be. When we showed up for a 6:30 reservation, we thought we would be dining alone. But within a half hour, the place filled up. Families and young people in groups of four or six. Service was spot on on friendly. Try the different rolls or apps– you won’t be disappointed — a strong performance from a local place for sure. The mad Russian says so… So you know it’s true

After an intense soul cycle class I asked the employees where I can get good sushi. They all responded with Ruby! I went there with my daughter & a huge appetite! We ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer. It was not what I expected but tasty. It didn’t have coconut on it. Instead it was cooked with coconut milk. For dinner we ordered the Hidden dragon, three stooges & sushi sandwich rolls. All were spectacular! Each one had its own unique flavor & distinction. The rolls were a generous size. Very filling. Service was pretty quick too. Definitely going back soon to try other menu options.

Excellent Fresh Sushi. I come here pretty often, I am always well taken care of. Sushi chef is creative with his rolls and will make pretty much anything you ask that is not on menu. Service is fast and attentive. Love this place consistently great.

My Wife and I stopped in here for a quick lunch on a saturday. The place was empty when we walked in around 1:30 but within 10 minutes four other tables came in. We were promptly greeted by the hostess and were allowed to select any seat we prefered. We were asked if we wanted any drinks and since we were having a leisurely saturday afternoon we decided to imbibe. The wifey got one of the fruity specialty cocktails(a little too sweet for my taste but she enjoyed it thoroughly) from their menu and I went with the Asahi. On the menu the Asahi was listed as a 21 oz bottle but the waitress returned and told me they no longer carry that size. It wasn’t a big issue and she was extremely polite about the error. It sounds like that item will be removed from the menu shortly. It wasn’t a problem though because they still had the Asahi in the smaller 12 oz. We decided to order off the extensive lunch menu. As other have noted, the lunch specials are a bargain anyway you look at it. I went with the Chirashi which came with 14 pieces of fish and some delicious sticky rice. I must say that the presentation of the dish blew me away. I have order this dish many times at various restaurants(at substantially higher prices mind you) and never once did the presentation look as spectacular as this«lunch special». 14 pieces of generously sliced fish was astonishing given the lunch special pricing. The wife went with the shrimp pad thai bento box. She isn’t really a fan of the california rolls and asked the waitress if she could substitute a spicy crunchy tuna roll in its place. The waitress gladly accommodated the request but did inform us there was a 1.00 upcharge. I think that the price was more than fair. The shrimp pad thai was fine, nothing to write home about but then again this place is a asian fusion place and Pad Thai is best left up to dedicated thai restaurants. Her portion was very large and like I said more than acceptable. It just lacked that flavor explosion of authentic pad thai. The real star for her was the added crunchy spicy tuna roll. At a lot of places the tuna is minced so fine it takes on a mushy texture. Hers was diced to perfection in small uniformed bites that still allowed the texture and flavor of the tuna to shine through. Our take away from this places is that Sushi/Sashimi reins supreme. The service was fast and friendly, the décor is lovely and the food(japanese food at least) was extremely well executed.

Excellent fresh sushi with great service. Both the sushi and kitchen dishes are yummy. Great lunch menu especially for the price. The bistro style restaurant feels upscale, especially for a «mall restaurant.» The mushroom soup is a flavorful broth with several types of shroms, highly recommended. Let’s support this place while Woodbury Commons undergoes renovations, so we don’t lose one of the best in this area. Update — Consistently good food and great value. I have never had any service issues and have brought large groups for lunch as well as just the two of us. Asian curry and mango quite nice for lunch, gyoza very tasty and perfect thin wrapper, sushi fresh … Great dinner place too!

I went here during lunch with a large party from work. When we sat down at 12:20, we told the server we were on lunch and ready to order. She said ok, and walked away to clear the table of another party, who were engrossed in conversation and clearly not in a hurry. She literally did not come back for 15 minutes with water and tea. Taking our order took an additional 30. When it arrived, half our party’s orders were incomplete. Who does that… bringing a plate out with the entrée and not the rice??? The food sucked!!! I ordered a chicken pad thai lunch box. The chicken pad thai was hideous; it inappropriately including slided red pepper, sliced zucchini, bok choy, mushrooms. Those vegies don’t belong in pad thai and they ruined the taste. What my dish did not include was the crushed peanuts and lime it was supposed to come with. I had to ask for that. My friend who ordered the pad thai received her crushed peanuts and lime… and a scoop of brown rice on the side… wha??? The shumai that came with my «lunch box» were kind of tucked under the pad thai. In fact, everyone’s 2 shumai were dropped onto their plate regardless of whether they had a noodle dish or a dish with sauce… The worst was the ice cold«california roll.» Yes, ice cold, as in, made yesterday and kept in the fridge. If you order sushi, you want it fresh, period. I would never advise anyone to order sushi from this place if this is what they do. Also, the roll consisted of only crab and avocado. They left out the cucumber!!! That’s a bad sign. Cheap restaurants leave out the cucumber. In short, sloppy. Service was rude. Food sucked. We were stuck there for over 2 hours(on lunch), much of it spent asking for things that should have just come, like rice, and the bill. You shouldn’t have to beg for the bill. We finally put on our coats and stood up. It was that rediculous. Then our waitress comes flying over with nine different bills. But wait, there were 10 in our party, so instead of dropping the nine bills, she takes them all away and disappears. As an aside, we did not want, or ask for, seperate bills… NEVERAGAIN!!!

I think another Unilocaler already hit the nail on the head; RUDE&INCONSISTENT. But to drive the point home, let me paint a picture. I was part of a party of 10 that visited the restaurant on our lunch break. We were seated and given menus at which point we informed the hostess/waitress(the only one by the way, there was another person but unclear if he was wait stafff since he made occasional appearances) that we were on our lunch break. We waited another 10 mins and still no one came to take our orders, we flagged the waitress down informed her AGAIN we were on our lunch break and needed to order. Fast forward another 10 mins. Our order is taken at the 12:45 mark and we settle in to wait for lunch. At 1:15pm lunch was still a no show and didn’t arrive for some of us until close to 1:30. I say some because others got partial, meat with no rice or lunch box with just the main entrée. One of my party got no lunch at all. The coup de’tat at the end was the waitress decided that even though we came as a party of 10 we would receive individual bills, the kicker being she couldn’t remember who ordered what… a total cluster. Sadly this is not the first time I experienced this level of incompetency from there. I once went for dinner with my family and stood in the wait area for an exorbitant period of time and was not acknowledged ATALL til we left. Its a pity too because the food is good and that is why I keep trying with them but I think after this time that is it. I GIVEUP!

Nice ambiance, I was impressed by the menu. The owner seems friendly also. However, the waitress was a bit abrupt. The food made up for it though so I didn’t mind.

I’ve eaten at Ruby probably 25 times for lunch. This is an excellent place to eat and is a great value. I have also brought international business visitors for lunch. Always well received. You can get a «lunch Box» special for about $ 10. When you think of the price of a sandwich at a deli, here, you are getting table service and good quality food for just a few dollars more. My typical order is the Shrimp Soba Lunch Box which comes with soup, salad, shumai, a California roll and the shrimp and soba noodle dish. A lot of good quality and well prepared food at a great price. I also like the décor. Contemporary.

Yummy food everything is fresh and tasty. Terrific lunch specials come with LI’s best miso soup a fresh green salad and many entrees ranging from Chinese to Thai to raw items. Try the sushi sandwich amazing combo of spicy tuna spicy salmon rice and soy paper. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. Terry will make you feel at home. Oh and before I forget this is the best food value in Woodbury.

Standard Asian fushion food. The wonton and watercress soup is very good as are the gyoza. The spicy garlic chicken is great as is the General Tso’s. What I hate is the service. Its poor in that they RUSH you. I mean they throw soup and appetizers at you at once. That annoys me to no end.

I came here on a Friday night for a quick bite with some friends. It was super empty with only one other table taken in the restaurant, which always makes me nervous. But we wanted to try something new so we committed to it. I ordered the chirashi(which is just slices of shashmi over rice and it was so delicious! The sushi has to be super fresh because there is no hiding or masking the flavor with mayo or other ingredients and it was. My friends both super enjoyed there rolls they got and also commented on how fresh tasting it was. People have commented on the wait staff and I didn’t find them rude or unfriendly just super efficient at their job. If you are looking to be best friends with the wait staff this isn’t the place for you, if you are looking for fresh and tasty sushi then I highly recommend heading over to Ruby’s.

This place is just plain great! the food is great and the prices are great. I have not tried the sushi here, but everything else is excellent. This place really shows you just how bad your typical Chinese restaurant is. Everything here is cooked fresh(you can tell) especially the vegetables which are fresh and perfectly cooked(instead of the soggy or sometimes wooden broccoli you usually get). The sauces here are light and fresh as are all the ingredients which gives the distinct impression it has all been freshly tossed around in a wok for a few minutes instead of being served from giant vats which are used to slop reheated goo on your plate. This is of course not a Chinese restaurant, it is as it says«fusion», so they do some creative takes by borrowing ingredients and styles from traditional chinese/Thai and other asian cuisines to come up with something new. Many restaurants have started using«fusion» to mean that they just cook food from all over Asia, which is not what the term is meant to mean at all. Would you eat at a restaurant that cooked French food Italian food and Bugers… well don’t eat at restaurants that cook Chinese, Thai and Indian… it just means they have no understanding or respect for the food they cook and it will be horrible. Anyway, this place which I stopped at for an eating emergency(someone was starving and we had limited time) was a very lucky accident for me indeed, I have eaten there 4 times in the last 2 weeks! As for comments about rude service, maybe the staff has been changed since then, not that the service was amazing, but nothing to complain about… I was there at lunch time though and not many people at all. As for the ambiance of the place, it’s fine. They have gone for a modern, sleek look but it’s not for a romantic meal or special occasion. However it IS definitely a very pleasant place to eat at on a regular basis… which may just be the most important type of restaurant you know :-) So…please go here, eat the delicious food & keep the place going! it’s one of the few which deserves some success.

–RUDE –UNFRIENDLY –INCONSISTENT First time here. The only thing worth complimenting here is the décor. The waitress never for one second gave a smile even though we were extremely polite and friendly. Came here to celebrate my birthday and they gave me a free side of stink attitude. The waitress also didn’t know a thing. She told us there was an up charge of $ 2 for a roll that wasn’t a part of the lunch menu then came back and said it was actually $ 5. WTF! Messed up our orders and didn’t even apologize and when they came back with the correct order it was half what we were suppose to get. Asked for napkins and never got it. Not worth a return trip! Thanks for ruining my lunch, my day and my birthday!

This is their second location.(That I know of) Delicious. Sushi and kitchen food both. I have always tougth the other Ruby(Plainview) had the most generous sized rolls and portions, — this locale keeps up. The fish quality is up there — just the location demands top quality, high rent upscale shops surround this shop. The bakery across the parkinglot chages $ 7 for a cupcake. YOU know what I mean. My favorite sushi item is the Fusion sushi — layers of tuna, white tuna and spicy crunchy — loaf shaped with soy paper and sliced — beautiful AND delicious. My mom had the king of the sea… Lobster, scallops and shrimp, greenbeans, asparagus and carrots atop a bed of black risotto. OMG. Staff is friendly, service is timed nicely. FAB!

Ruby Asian Fusion is located in the former two decade location of Woodbury’s favorite lunch place Graffitti. Ruby is here only a few months. So in a fancy upscale shopping center in an upper class spendy town, in the highest rent(in the area) shopping center(where nearly every other store has recently closed) Ruby innocently has opened shop. This nice Asian Bistro is giving it a whirl. So naturally when I saw the super value lunch prices I felt a pang of concern. Was it a nice place? Yes. Nice place, nice people, the food looked and was really good. Light, not over sauced fresh. Etc. See Photos. Service? very friendly, courteous. Enjoy this place if nearby, it is clean, new inside and has nice natural lighting from big windows and is quiet enough to enjoy lunch. or a relaxing low key dinner. I’d like them to stay, but wouldn’t be surprised if they migrate @ some point as a good number of other places in this location just have.
