DELICIOUS! We usually go to Kumo in Plainview but they frequently have an attitude when my mom and I go. Well, we’ve found our new place. I got the tuna dumplings which is avocado, mango, and seaweed salad wrapped in tuna and topped with tobiko. Gorgeous and the tuna was super fresh tasting. We had a sweetheart roll which was also good, though probably didn’t need the sauce. The cucumber roll was packed with cucumber, a nice change from the mostly-rice rolls found elsewhere. The tuna avocado roll had a lovely amount of tuna and nice chunks of avocado. They brought some pineapple for dessert and also brought us two pieces of some sort of special roll with my mom’s salad. Really good, reasonably priced, and had some nice cooked options on the menu too(including some Thai stuff). Like I said, we’ll definitely be back!

Had a bad experience tonight. We came kind of late at 9:00 an hour before they close and they rushed us. We got freezing cold miso soup. They wouldn’t give us an extra plate. They were really rude. We probably won’t be coming back.

Delivery took nearly an hour to travel less than a mile away. Food was luke warm, salad was soggy. According to their take out menu, there is a $ 15 minimum for delivery, employee informed me over the phone there is a $ 20 minimum. Needless to say, I won’t be ordering delivery from Kado again any time soon, not sure I’ll be visiting to eat in either.

Great food, not-so-great service. Therefore, I am neutral like Switzerland. I’d rather go somewhere that has both going on.

Fresh, fresh, fresh. Delicious rolls, the fire island roll which was a special was fantastic, loved all the rolls we tried(believe it was spiderman and Woodbury as well). Good miso soup and good service, happy to find this gem since I like to switch up sushi spots!!!

I recently moved into the neighborhood about a year ago and this has become our go to spot. It is very kid friendly as we have a 2 year old and the staff is very nice and accommodating. We get the jalapeño yellowtail for app(delicious) and the 21 pc sashimi deluxe for the main course and fried ice cream for dessert. The sashimi is incredible fresh and never disappoints. The ambiance is trendy without being pretentious, the food is great and very reasonable priced. A definite recommend.

Really good service, fresh sushi and not too pricey for what you get. The rainbow naruto roll was packed full of fresh fish and avocado wrapped in crisp cucumber.

Really great overall sushi. We had the salmon love roll which was FULL of salmon goodness and a little jalapeño on top. There’s no rice in the roll. Literally, the salmon will take place of the rice. If you don’t like salmon, this is probably not for you. Also had the sushi box cake with salmon which was pictured as a little tower in the pics. Ordered it cuz we thought it was cute and love salmon but it wasn’t really presented as such. It was still very interesting though! They give you about 6 pieces of seaweed on the side and wrap it around the sushi roll they give you. We also got the Yankee sandwhich which was on point. I personally thought it was slightly better than the salmon love roll because it had that tempura and eggplant crunch to it instead of just pure fish. Very unique roll also. Would come back again to try their other specialty rolls :)

One of my usual work week lunch spots. I usually get either 2 lunch sushi rolls for 8.95 or 3 lunch sushi rolls for 10.95… I always get the eel avocado which I recommend. Today I opted for one eel roll and tried the shrimp pad Thai. Really good and seasoned well. Service is super quick which is great for a lunch break… Enough time to sit down and eat and get back to work… You can also order for pickup, which I have done when short on time. And the staff are friendly, which is always a plus!

The prettiest, nicest waitresses in Syosset maybe even Nassau. Foods good and hot. Some of the combos are over the top but always very tasty. You should go!

Since this place is near my home, I always stop by for dinner or lunch with my family. After eating there so many times in the past, I feel obligated to leave a review. Their service and the ambiance is always spot on and the food there is above average — not the best, but good enough to return. If it’s quiet in there, they sometimes offer your table a free appetizer :) Prices are very reasonable and overall, great place to go in the Syosset-Woodbury area.

A cut above the usual sushi places with a very friendly staff. We recently ordered their version of a sushi/sashimi«boat» and found the fish fresh and tasty. Their rolls also look and feel fresh on the palate. If sushi is not for you, the miso soup is good and the bento box comes with plenty of food. With two visits under my belt, I believe I;m becoming a regular here.

Kado sushi is a great value especially when you order online for 15% off. We ordered the love boat which came with generous slices of fresh sashimi, several pieces of nigiri and two specialty rolls. All the fish was fresh and the rice well seasoned. In addition to the takeout chopsticks and such, they gave eel sauce, spicy mayo, a cup of soy sauce, and a cup of ginger in our to go bag. A+ for not skimping on all these very-important-but-easily-forgotten things.

My absolute FAVORITE sushi place. I come here very often. Take out or sit down either way the food is always delicious and the sushi is fresh. My signature roll is the the«valentine roll» which isn’t on the menu but they still serve it(very similar to the sweet heart roll). Great for an evening out or lunch. The staff is great and sometimes even give appetizers on the house! This place never fails for any sushi or Japanese food lover.

This place is very consistent, always good. Got delivery from here today and it came like 20 minutes later, so fast! You can change to brown rice on sushi for a dollar more. The duck fajitas wraps are amazing. Great spot for sushi, highly recommend.

Sushi is one of those items that its either really fresh and delicious, or horrible and can make you terribly sick. Fortunately, at Kado in Syosset, the fish is fresh and the rolls are delicious. On a recent trip home my parents asked me where I wanted to go for dinner. I was craving sushi and knew that Kado would hit the spot perfectly. Kado is located in a strip mall right in the town of Syosset and from the exterior, you could easily miss it. When my family and I sat down, we knew exactly what we wanted and placed our order immediately. On this particular night, we went to dinner a little bit on the early side so the restaurant was kind of empty. Sometimes when this happens, the sushi chefs have extra time on their hands and whip up interesting creations for the guests to try. Fortunately this was one of those nights. The creation of the evening was a sushi roll with avocado and salmon on the inside topped with tuna and tempura flakes and then drizzled with spicy mayo, wassabi sauce and then eel sauce. Hopefully they add this to the menu soon because it was wonderful. Then, the food we ordered started to arrive. First, the Tuna Dumpling came out. But this is not your traditional dumpling, forget the sticky noodles, this is way better. It’s sushi grade tuna wrapped around mango, avocado and seaweed salad with basil sauce to drizzle on top. Easily the best rendition of a dumpling I’ve ever had. Next, the Sashimi Salad came out. This was tuna, salmon and baby greens with onion dressing. All the ingredients were very fresh and made for a really refreshing dish. Next up was the Kado Sandwich. This was an item that I had previously had as a chefs creation. It’s not on the menu yet, but they’ll make it for you if you ask. It’s tuna and avocado ‘sandwiched’ between rice and seaweed with a drizzling of spicy mayo and eel sauce on top. This and the tuna dumpling are my two favorite dishes. We also tried the Magical Roll which was spicy tuna and avocado topped with miso glazed eggplant. I love miso glazed eggplant and it added a nice bit of crunch to the roll. Kado has some really interesting sushi options on their menu that are sure to satisfy even the most adventurous of eaters. Next time you’re in Syosset I highly recommend checking it out.

A year ago, I might have given Kado a three-star review. A few months ago, a four. Now my dear Kado, I am upgrading you to the coveted five-star status. The magical roll is just that. Magical. I don’t want to even venture out into new roll territory because I love this roll so much. It is comprised of eggplant, spicy tuna, avocado and a sweet miso glaze. Oh boy, could I go for this roll right now. Awesome. The spicy girl roll is also very good. Spicy salmon, tuna, yellowtail and avocado with crunch. Mmmmm! The black pepper tuna roll was also good, as was the Eric roll(this was a special so I don’t remember what exactly was on it — you can check the board upon entering). Edamame and green tea is pretty standard. The interior leaves a bit to be desired. I don’t know if I am a fan of the neon and disco ball upon entering, but it doesn’t really bother me THAT much. The service was really great one time, and then another time, the waitress remarked a few times that we must be hungry, saying, «You ordered so much food! Are you going to eat all of that?» Umm… yes, yes we are. Two special rolls, two regular rolls, and an order of edamame split between two people. Is this a lot of food? Is this pigging out on sushi times? I’d like to think not, because this is typically what we order at whatever sushi joint we happen to hit up when the sushi craving calls. Although sometimes we swap out the edamame for steamed dumplings. Mmmm… steamed dumplings. Anyway, sushi here is wonderful, atmosphere is OK and service has the chance to be wonderful. But please, fellow sushi patrons, I am curious to see if what we order is over abundant. See photos for reference, and if you love eggplant you absolutely MUST order the magical roll — one of my favorite rolls from any sushi restaurant on the island. *Note: check out the coupon books for savings. 10% if paying by card, and 15% if paying cash.
