My family and I have been coming here for years. The food is great, and their chips and salsa are my favorite. The service isn’t always the most overly friendly but it doesn’t bother or deter me. we are always seated and served quickly.

Just can’t believe how this place has went down hill, since the closing of their Southgate location, on Eureka Rd.!? Food«USE» to be AWESOME, & so «WAS» the service! Not sure what’s happened, but it’s like going to a totally different place?! Service is HORRIBLE, & don’t you dare ask for another tiny bowl of chips. Oh, &BTW a little cleanliness goes a looong way!!! If this location stays open, I will absolutely be shocked?! I will not be back, unless I hear things have changed?

The interior is a cute, south of the border theme. We didn’t dine in, so I can’t comment on the service, but the people were nice when we ordered over the phone. The service was prompt, but the food was just okay. Perhaps I’m spoiled by having great Mexican food in Texas, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for their Mexican pizza. It had a crispy crust like a fried tortilla, with cheese, beans, jalapeños and light sauce(we didn’t want the meat). Not bad for the Thursday five dollar special.

I love Amigo’s wet burrito. We have tried many other places around the state and can’t find one this good. This location is rather dumpy(Taylor is much nicer) and they REALLY need to update it. You totally sink in the broken booth seats. The staff has always been friendly. Once in a while the cook will forget an item on my wet burrito(I find this odd) and that has to be dealt with.

Amigo’s Mexican restaurant woodhaven Nasty! After being served drinks and stale chips. The server comes to get our order, we order Mexican pizza oh we’re out of beans! What?! So we needed more time trying to find something without beans. I asked for new bowl of chips fresh ones they’re stale, she says that’s all we have for now. Food comes Nathan’s ranch fries have a puddle of grease in the bottom! Never Again! Don’t waste your money here!

Well the good is the lunch special. 6.50 for a good amount of food, which is decent tasting but nothing special. Salsa tastes like the packets of taco seasoning you buy from the grocery store. Not a tomato or onion in sight, just watery red stuff. First place I’ve ever been that didn’t have hot/taco sauce available, they just suggest you throw the crappy salsa on top. Won’t be back at least not by choice.

I went here once before, and I wasn’t too impressed. I just now went again the other day, and it was a different story. The waitress was extremely nice, and every time she came up she had a smile on her face! The salsa was not the best though, it was just okay. In my opinion the salsa kind of looked like a pizza sauce, and sort of tasted like it too. Besides that though I got the steak fajita, and that tasted fantastic! All the peppers that came with it made it taste terrific! The food was good and it all came for a decent price. I wouldn’t want to come here all the time, but if you’re in the area it’s worth it!

It’s taste good and all, but I just can’t spend the money they ask for when I can make triple the quantity of the food they offer at home for much less money. It was nice to try due to good reviews from family, but I will stick with Angelina’ s in Allen Park, Ponchos, and Mexican Town.

I did not think it was very good. The salsa was not anything more then just blended tomato’s and the chicken was not seasoned at all.

If your in a hurry for lunch and want some great Mexican food, this is the best Mexican food around downriver hands down! Great food and very friendly staff. You can be in and out in 30 mins or less! Great prices and great staff.

Really good! «LOVE» both of their locations. Steak fajitas & wet burrito are the«BEST!» Salsa is very different, but«AWESOME!» Be sure to ask for their house made steak sauce(it’s not what your expecting, «very addictive!») GO!!! :-)

Love this place. Really great food as well as great service. If you haven’t had them give the ranch fries a try. One of my all time favorites from here.

Amigo’s is a great place to eat. I love all of their food. It’s different than a lot of other Mexican places in the area, but very good. I especially enjoy the the queso fundito, the Mexican sandwich, the fajita tacos, the flautas, the burritos, and the Mexican pizza. The chips and sauce is spectacular(it’s sauce, not salsa).

No it’s not authentic Mexican food but it sure does taste good and the portions are large. Service is great and fast. I do recommend a remodel, it’s time guys.

Microwaved pre-shredded food service yellow cheese. Nasty. Greasy. Un-authentic. Better than Taco Bell… barely. They used to have a half-dozen or so locations, but I see most are closed. There are some truly wonderful Mexican restaurants downriver, but this ain’t one of them. Fail

It’s downriver. So this four stars is based on that fact. It’s not Mexican town. It’s not Isalita. But, for this area, it’s pretty darn good. While I’ve never been here for dinner I’ve visited for lunch on several occasions. Whether with clients or a friend I know I can count on the following things: 1. I will be seated quickly. 2. Friendly service. 3. Good, cheap eats. 4. Flub-free service. I can’t speak to their beer list(yeah, I find that strange, too) or dessert. Definitely a spot on my rotation of downriver eats.

I have been going to Amigo’s since I was a young child, and I’m almost 30!(Yes, it’s been around that long). My favorite thing about Amigos, and what keeps bringing me back, is simply their salsa! I don’t know how they make it, but it sure is tasty! Their food is okay, nothing out of this world, but not terrible either. If you like Mexican food, you will like this place. Much of their food is very similar, just served in a different way. Their prices are pretty affordable too, with most meals being under $ 10. As other reviewers have said, their food is VERY Americanized, so if you’re looking for real AUTHENTIC Mexican food, drive on down to Mexicantown in Detroit and take your pick from several restaurants!

All of my friends and extended family seem to LOVE this place. Amigo’s has great, friendly service and their food isn’t prepared poorly, or anything, its just not good(or authentic). In case you’ve never been here, Amigo’s serves what I call American-idealized Mexican-style food: 1. most dishes covered in red sauce and shredded cheese 2. canned refried beans as a side to every dish 3. warm(bagged) torilla chips and fresh salsa C’mon, I’ve had better stuff in a shopping mall/airport food court/amusement park. Here’s my rule of thumb for Ethnic restaurants: if you don’t see [insert Ethnicity] in a [insert Ethnicity] restaurant, run like hell!

Great Chips and Salsa. Relatively clean. Good Service. Close to Authentic. Not very flashy, but it is mexican afterall.

OK first off I hate to review this place because I know the owner’s son. If your looking for ground beef hard shell Americanized Mexican food then this is the place for you. I’ve read the other reviews and have to say I won’t be respecting many of their opinions in the future. A battle between Amigos and Mexican Garden? Are you serious? Well add Taco Bell into the mix it’s about as authentic. Wait Taco Bell would win because the other two don’t even have steak tacos(Carne Asada you know real tacos). Sorry but like I said if your just looking for Americanized Ground Beef Mexican it’s not bad. I prefer authentic Mexican.
