I was so sorry to hear that this place had closed after many years of being a go-to for that meal like old school deli provided. If you’ve had it, you know it! The owner was a wonderful guy, welcoming, accommodating, and with bthe right touch with customer service! I knew that new competition opened up, Lovi’s, but that doesn’t mean that new is better. No one will hold a candle to Label’s! Portions were great, the rye bread was the best ever, and the friendly service and personal attention from the servers was second to none. Label’s chicken soup was DELICIOUS, and I have to say that I am sad to see this pillar of the Deli community gone after all these years. You will be missed! :’(‘ Honestly, it wasn’t that Lovi’s just didn’t try; when I went there it had opened a mere 2 weeks before, but the servers were less than proficient, the noise level was deafening, prices were somewhat high, and I was disappointed with everything I ordered. We had a large party of 8, and called ahead to make sure the timing was right. Yet, every order had something missing, wrong, or goofed up! Our birthday boy didn’t get his latke, the one thing he really wanted. It took three requests before he got the sour cream to go with the pancake, which was cold by then. We brought a cake and they forgot to bring it out, ruining the surprise! It was stifling hot in the restaurant, and only April. A lot could be excused for a new restaurant, but the Lovi family KNOWS how to run a deli. And in Calabasas/West SF Valley, people know their deli, so it has to be right on! I can only hope that they will learn to regulate the ambient temperature better, remember the touches like Russian dressing for a Reuben, which is really important, and pick up the right way to make some of the old standards. The Lovi family are real pros at Deli, being the owners of Newbury Park’s delicious Pickles, but they are still finding their groove here! Things may have changed a lot by now, which is to be hoped, as I last visited at the end of April 2015, but I didn’t get the same family feeling that I got at Label’s, OR at Pickles, and it made me miss getting chicken soup to go at Label’s so much! LABEL’S, YOUWILLBEMISSED! Don’t think that your authentic tastes and friendly attitude will be forgotten! I hope you enjoy retiring, or open something new in the area! You were all wonderful, and made chicken soup just like my grandma! Hugs to all!

I can’t believe that they’ve closed Labels. It was such a fine Deli with exquisite food. I have nowhere else to go now. Im truly sad.

They purchased all of their meat from smart and final, they made very little, had to be the worst jewish deli around. Go to Brents, now thats a real jewish deli. If you thought Labels was great, subway is still open. Now where will the Kartrashians go to eat and be bombarded with Paparazi?

Oh No! Labels Table has closed after 25 years. Their lease didn’t renew. Totally sucks!

The pastrami on rye is so thinly cut it might be one of the most enjoyable pastrami sandwiches I’ve ever had. The french fries are mediocre but you don’t go there for the fries you go there for the pastrami.

I stopped by here for breakfast while waiting for someone at the motion picture hospital. The food was just meh, ok. The eggs were bright yellow, which did not seem normal. The food selection was vast, but entirely over priced. I feel like paying four dollars for a tiny plate of fruit was ridiculous, and four dollars for fries was just silly. I was actually quite disappointed with my breakfast. Being one of 4 tables in there with two servers and then having to wave down someone for re-fills was comical. Anyway… I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The place seemed unclean, dated and just bleh. The prices were too high for what they were serving. Had it been better quality, the cost would have been worth it.

Label’s is our local Jewish deli, and how I wish it were not. I recall fondly the type of deli fare I grew up on; freshly sliced cold cuts, potato pancakes made from scratch, and delicious chicken matzo ball soup. This place lives up to my memories not at all. The food is just… Unremarkable. The cold cuts are usually dry, but not totally flavorless. The potato pancakes are weirdly mealy and dense. I usually end up ordering a hot dog and a side salad, and even those aren’t noteworthy. The hot dog sometimes comes out burned and the buns verge on stale. If only my parents could be convinced out of coming here so often.

Use to frequent this deli years ago when I worked in the area. Always to go. It was always pretty decent for a quick lunch. Never comparable to the real deal deli’s. Last week I found myself cruising by around lunch time so I stopped by to pick up two sandwiches to go. My corned beef was above average and kudos on the rye bread. The reason for this review is the quality of the turkey sandwich. For $ 11.95 I expected real turkey. The meat was comparable to a decent turkey you might get at a counter in a supermarket. Brent’s charges $ 12.95 for fresh real turkey. Cole slaw was just so so. The counter man was friendly but the décor was lacking. The leering waitresses did not help make me feel comfortable or welcome. Not a friendly feel to the place. Had the sandwich been $ 8-$ 9 I would not complain. Hope they care enough to make some improvements.

I have been going here for at least 10 years. My usual brekkie is LOX, Onions and eggs pancake style. The coffee is very good. This is your basic old school deli. I think their prices a very fair for what you get. The rye bread is very good as well.

The service is terrible. If you don’t like working at a restaurant I suggest finding another job! But apparently that is not the hiring philosophy at this place. Older bitter server was very rude when we asked for a high chair. Another server who brought the high chair just threw it near us… Perhaps they just don’t want to cater to families. Will never come and eat here… EVER!

We had a quick lunch today in this Woodland Hills staple. Amidst the screaming kids we ordered lunch! I had the matzah ball soup. Soup and matzah balls were both very bland and needed seasoning. My husband enjoyed the chicken noodle soup. There is lots of broth and minimal noodles which made him very happy. The brisket sandwich was good, served with potato salad. Sandwiches are very big and meat was tender.

Good Food. I read the reviews and the Turkey and rye bread are the Choice. I had a turkey on Rye. The turkey was sliced and cooked to perfection. The bread was the best rye i had at any local deli in the area. The service was great. Our server was friendly in a «mom type a way» She is the Grandma you never had. lol The coleslaw was made by them but still lacked the seasoning of a top notch coleslaw. I still gave them 5 stars. just because of the service, bread, and tasty turkey.

I’m in a good mood so I think I’m going to maybe be a little bit generous with my review. I don’t ever have really high expectations for a Jewish Deli. Sorry, I just don’t! With that said, my criteria for a good Jewish deli for brunch is simply one thing — corned beef hash. Now while I know corned beef hash is not traditionally Jewish, I find that the Jewish delis(when they’re good) can make pretty damn good corned beef hash for brunch. So, all in all, my corned beef hash was good and for once my sunny-side up eggs came without being entirely too runny for me. I like that. The rest was okay at best, but like I said, I’m in a good mood. ;)

I tried the ½ pastrami on rye. It was eh, a bit too salty/seasoned for my taste. I definitely prefer the brisket. The steak fries were once again cooked to order so they came out crisp and piping hot :)

Went here for brunch, very disappointing. Coffee — icky. All the cream and sugar in the world couldn’t fix it. My food was cold and bland. I honestly don’t remember what I got(probably eggs and fruit) but I clearly remember wishing we went to Breakfast Café instead. I’m sorry, Label’s Table, but your food was not to my liking.

Deli, delly, delhi, dilly. And apparently the same can go for a proper names, according to the restaurant’s website, there is a variety of ways to spell their name. Confusing for finding. Not for eating. I was in the mood for NHNP(no hamburgers, no pizza) and wanted something transportable to the motel. A sandwich seemed like a good idea, but I wanted something nearby. Wandering around Calabasas, looking for a Kardashian or two, I came up empty, but rolled into the strip mall just off the 101 on Mulholland, and spotted Label’s. Label’s started in West LA and expanded to a couple of Valley locations, Calabasas, and Tarzana. Their website text makes reference to the Tarzana location, but it’s not listed in the«location» drop down menu, so not sure if that’s still open. I basically knew I wanted a cold sandwich, but the menu, like most traditional deli menus, was lengthy, and I wanted to make sure I didn’t overlook something exciting. Although the«Chopped Vegetable Salad» sounded interesting(gag), I went with a plain old roast beef on rye, eschewing even my usual mustard, when the counterman asked if I wanted same. I know not whilst I make these kind of decisions. Sandwiches come with your choice of fries, slaw, potato salad or fruit, add rings for 75 cents. Apparently bread or roll substitutions might incur a small surcharge as well. The sandwich was overstuffed, beautiful lean roast beef, and an ample serving of thick cut fries was included. The rye was fresh, soft, and flavorful. I’m happy I passed on condiments, allowed me to fully savor the taste of excellent quality, excellently prepared roast beef. Believe it or not, I remember when Arby’s sandwiches used to look like this, decades ago! But no more(sigh). Fortunately there are places like Label’s where one can stil get a good, honest sandwich, and buy bulk meats that aren’t pressed, chopped, formed, and brine injected. I highly recommend Label’s

Today I had the classiest meal I’ve had in ages: a bowl of matzo ball soup and«half» a chop liver sandwich. The matzo ball was perfect; large but not heavy, and it had TASTE! The broth wasn’t fatty or too salty. The chop liver was the best chop liver I have ever eaten, and I have eaten chop liver. Not filmy, fatty tasting. Not bland. NO after-burps or indigestion. Just perfect. And, the quantity was well-measured; enough for a sublime fress yet not so much it was falling out of the bread all over the plate. And the rye bread was lightly toasted. This was the culinary treat of my time here in California, and a delightful addition to the day’s business meeting.
