I took my shoes in to get new bottoms placed on the high heel, While yes, there IS a new heel, I asked for it to be tan and it’s black. And you can see from the picture they RUINED the patent leather all around the added heel. I can’t wear these in public. Guess I need to buy new shoes and when the heels wear down take them to ANYSTOREBUTEMILS!!!

We took my husband’s work boots here for repair and I was less than impressed. When we dropped them off the guy at the counter said he would have them done that afternoon & call us. He never called us so we tried to call there & the number is disconnected. So we went back in to the shop 2 days later & there was a different guy behind the counter & he had no idea what was going on with the boots. We told him what needed to be done & he said he would have them done In 2 days. We went back 2 days later & they tried to send us out with someone else’s boots! It took the guy a good 15 minutes of searching to even find my husband’s boots. This place has no organization system, no way to track items that have been dropped off & I think that is unacceptable in 2016 with all the technology at our fingertips.

So my husbands boots came not 5 days later like they said, but 3 weeks. When I called on the 7th day the employee who answered the phone stated my that my order had never placed. It took 3 weeks to get my husbands boots. No apology either. Also paid to have them stretch 2 pairs of my shoes. No difference in the shoes. Very disappointed in what I was hoping would be worth staying local.

Very impressed. It is a mom and pop shop and has the customer service of one, while having the selection of a huge store. They repair shoes as well– for as cheap as you can get. They are not interested in stealing your money. Will buy all my shoes and boots from here.

Terrible service. I came in asking for a repair and they did a totally separate repair that didn’t need to be done ignoring the original repair. Then they never called me when it was supposed to take a day or so. At least two weeks passed before I returned and was ignored because the guy wouldn’t get off the phone. The next time I came in I was ignored again and found out they lost my shoe laces. I still don’t have the shoes back

I went here for the second time just a couple of weeks ago. I got 3 pairs of boots polished and a few parts glued, and a sandal strap re-sewn, and it cost me a total of about $ 18. The shoes were finished in less than 3 days, and I love the work they do. I have to drive a little while to get there since I’m from out of town, but it’s always worth it. They are a great business. Just FYI, they’re closed on Mondays.

I’ve wondered like others, how has this place stayed in business all these years? Then you look in the windows and see that this store is fabulously old school. Their selections range from orthopedic to steel toe shoes. Their clientele have probably been coming here for years and may appreciate that time has stood still. In these days where big chain stores are ripping the business out of downtown woodland, I applaud Emil’s for remaining a Woodland Main St. anchor. Oh! They offer shoe repair service, nice touch.

The fact that places like this still exist makes me giggle. While I’m all for change and progress, it’s somehow soothing to go into businesses like this that haven’t changed much in the past 40 years — yet they’re still doing quite well and, in fact, have a seemingly unending line of customers that appreciates good workmanship.
