As an Indian, we like our fully stocked grocery stores. The café with their selection of fresh made foods are a great place to get your Authentic Mumbai fix. We rely on Suchir for Indian Groceries. anyone can pick out some of the Ramen type IndoChinese make at home noodles, or biscuits only available in India, this is like a teleport to a General store in Mumbai more than anything else. I am glad they have two locations and a great inventory.

The quality of food served in this place has deteriorated greatly in last few years. Never order any south Indian items in this place. If you need any of your tooth removed, do not spend hundreds of dollars on the dentist. Just bite one of their Idly’s and your tooth will shattered into pieces right from its root, guaranteed. These people are making all dentists in wood ridge area wind up their practices. The coconut chutney they serve will be at least one week old. I ordered a dosa last week and all I saw on my table was a circular object neatly folded in black, brown and yellow color. The black colored portion was part of dosa that was partially burnt. They strictly serve customers by appointments, one at a time…99% of their tables will be empty, and if you visit them, probably you will be the only one who will be eating there under absolute secluded privacy. You can notice that they have more people chatting in their kitchen than the number of their customers. An oversized short lady will usually greet you with a smile when you enter the place. Because of the secluded privacy and the smile of the super sized lady, i would rate the ambience part of the place as ’ Romantic’

I wouldn’t even give this place a one star. The people here are so rude and NOT helpful. They literally give attitude to you once you walk in. Even though this place is close to home. I would rather drive a few miles and go to a grocery store that is friendly and don’t judge you!

This Indian grocery includes frozen food, spices, a bulk section, cookies, some fresh produce, chilled drinks, spice mixes, and a snack bar in back with both Indian sweets and various snacks. The selection of packaged ready-to-eat Indian dinner dishes is excellent. I’ve been in much larger groceries, but I haven’t seen the bulk items in a store this size before, and the inclusion of the snack bar is very welcome. I sometimes cruise Indian groceries hoping to find samosa or other prepared foods; here it’s part of the regular deal! The samosa have a sort of odd flavor from a spice I’m not familiar with, but I’m delighted to have the opportunity to purchase them.

Veggie heaven! Not very fancy, the snack bar/buffet was attached to a small Indian grocery. But very tasty if you like spicy, which I do very much. And when I go to an ethnic place and am the only European-American, it reassures me that the cuisine is authentic, the cable station even plays Bollywood movies. Staff is friendly, and went out of their way to explain some dishes I was not familar with. Not a place for the ambiance, but do come back for the food!
