Small portion and high price. Food is OK, the chicken soup is delicious, but the pinakbet is too bitter. Haven’t tried meat dishes but may not return.

The food here is insanely delicious. Even my Mom agreed, and she’s a tough customer to please. I had the kare kare, bicol express and some pork with onions and vinegar dish, each was better than the rest! Affordable prices, restaurant makes you feel like you are back in the Philippines, complete with chitchirya to buy near the register. Yeah, servings are a little on the small side but I was plenty satisfied. Can’t believe this place got such low scores.

I came with my husband and sister last night. We have actually eaten here before, so we already know that the food’s so-so, but we were willing to overlook the expensive price and small portions since they had some vegetable dishes and we were very hungry. However, the woman behind the counter was very rude. We were still contemplating on what to order and she kept rushing us. We didn’t want to order a combo meal, since we didn’t want rice, but she was already holding out a bowl for a combo meal. I needed to explain that to her yet I kept getting interrupted because she kept on asking to stay or to go. To cut the long story short, there was no line, so no reason to rush us. She gave such an attitude and rolled her eyes at us when we walked out. No bueno. And the nerve to retort in a sarcastic way was just icing on the cake. If I could give 0 stars I would. Or negative stars if that’s even possible. We are never going back to this place again Sooo… if you’re craving Filipino food, there are way better Filipino restaurants on the next block.

Expensive and small portions. The pork on a stick was dry and overly sweet. Lumpia was cold and stale. There are definitely better choices in the neighborhood.

I am quite surprised with the bad reviews. I frequented this place during the 2014 Christmas season. This became my family’s go-to place for quick, affordable, decent filipino food. I must say, I enjoyed every meal that I had here. I wonder if they use MSG, I hope not. Pros — Quick meal — Good selection of dishes — Very affordable — Favorite: Chicken BBQ Cons — Tends to get cold inside — When the heater is turned on, the fan hits you directly with hot air — Heavy door of the restroom Overall: I would recommend this place for the pros mentioned above. This is not a special occassion kind of place.

First of all, I made this Unilocal account just for this review. Take time to read and it would save your life coz every penny counts and so as well as your health! It was December 5 of 2014 when we decided to dine in at Baby’s Grill that night to have our dinner. Honestly, it was our second time(which means second chance). It was my boyfriend’s birthday(He is from Nepal) and he wanted to eat here coz he fell In love with their ‘chili sauce’. That night we ordered 2 combos obviously one for me and one for him. I had milkfish and sausages of 2 pcs then he had vegetable and pork viand. Before paying our meals, a man ahead of us had a fish viand too. I saw him asking for SOYSAUCE and it gave me the idea to ask for SOYSAUCE too. Right after them I asked the OLDLADY behind the counter(I’m not even sure if she’s the owner) if I could have a soy sauce, then she answered back«ahy ano ba ang ulam mo ijah? Patingin ng ulam mo ijah!» Then in a calm voice I said«fish po» then she said, «ahy Hindi yan tinotoyohan ! Hindi yan kailangan ng Toyo!» *Back in my mind I was saying THISISHOW I WANT. SOYSAUCEINTHEMARKETISASCHEAPASYOUAREAND I CANBUYYOUONE* still I tried to be more patient and just paid the bill. Next, My boyfriend asked for ‘chili sauce’ from the guy beside the old lady and complimented — «The reason why I came back is because of this *insert smiley face here* I really really really love your chili !» I know my boyfriend is sort of picky when it comes to hot sauce coz he doesn’t like sriracha or any Chinese hot sauce in some restaurants etc. then he reminded him of the utensils which they FORGOTTOGIVE. my boyfriend was surprised of how it is being handed to him — it’s like they just threw it in front of him. Back to the register thing. I handed my payment for our meals and guess what ?! The old lady said in a palengkera way/tone«naku wala akong change, teka ha wala akong barya» and again HELLO it’s your job to prepare and make change for customers. It’s just a few bucks so I didn’t make it as a big deal. Still I tried to control myself and just waited instead of answering back. Few minutes later while waiting and watching her hide behind the register as she counts the money from ‘the belt na sinusuot sa palengke style of purse’ don’t get me wrong pero kitang Kita ng mga mata ko. Nasaan na ang proper etiquette manang ?! Then she added«maya nalang ang change mo ha !» Pasalamat siya dine In kami ! My boyfriend and I just moved on our way and looked for a CLEANESTTABLE. Before we finish eating, my boyfriend ordered another combo. He told the lady(in a good manner) to deduct the bill from my change and the old lady said in a loud voice as if she was talking to a customer in a dirty market«Yah! She has $ 4 change!» Yung parang«$ 4 lang naman yung change niya ah!» my boyfriend handed her a $ 10 bill and told the lady in a very respectful way«I’m not a Filipino but you should always respect your customers. That is the no.1 thing you should do no matter what» the old lady answered in an uneducated way«NO ! NO ! NO ! We are so busy! Because we were busy awhile ago, no time!» Come to think of it we were not asking an hour of their time and the place is not even packed! My boyfriend added«Even the way you give the change and the utensils. It’s not good» what he mean to say is. Everywhere you go or let’s say wherever you work, when giving change you should always hand them down the money and not just to throw it away in front of the customer. Just try to imagine those utensils and money on top of their panindas displayed at the counter area. And oh ! One more thing, check the kakanins and other selling items near the register coz most of it are old stock already and are hard to eat foods. I guess they don’t make fresh goodies everyday. By the time that we are about to leave, my boyfriend and I stopped by in front of them *me without saying a word the whole time* my boyfriend said, «Thank You!» And in a sarcastic way the old lady said«NO !! THANKYOU !!!» and the guy beside her was frowning. Trying to show us that he was pissed or something. LASTLY, before I end this review. A piece of advice, you should have placed soy sauce on the tables(they only have salt, fish sauce and vinegar– I swear I checked all the tables) if you don’t want to give some ! Next, better not serve any food/viand if you will only give very small amount/portion of it(try to check some of the complaints and reviews too of other customers– Mapa Pinoy o Hindi) that’s just too greedy of you old lady and young boy. Then, close down if you don’t know how to treat the customers right! Try to dine in, check it out. I’m just hoping that they will change and improve after reading this review! You can’t put the blame on me if I am giving this restaurant a ONESTAR. They even deserve only HALF. Thanks for the service and the effort BG !

Not very helpful. The woman at the counter kept speaking Tagalog. I’m not Filipino so I didn’t understand. She became frustrated that I didn’t understand what she was saying and stop helping me. Another staffer stepped in and thankfully one of the patrons next to me in line helped me avoid the dishes that contained seafood(allergies). Avoid this place. Food was ok(can’t really mess up chicken on a stick) but you could find better food with a friendlier staff two stores down in any direction. I should have left and taken my business elsewhere.

This restaurant is new, it replaced a Cuban restaurant that I use to love which is El Sitio. Honestly, the food here is pretty good and the people are very attentive but the portions are way to small. I got a combo meal which is 3 choices of food and rice. I choose the squid, the Dinuguan and some vegetable dish. I got 1 pieces of squid. 1 piece! a tiny portion of the two other dishes. I walked out there still kind of hungry. They do have some amazing Okoi.(I dont know if I spelled that correctly), the battered shrimp and seafood patty. I saw it there once, its not an everyday dish but its delish. I’d go back here because the food is great but Id rather go to another place with bigger portions.

A little disappointed. A few of their neighbors like fiesta grill and the rest gives out decent portions while the old lady behind the counter for this restaurant gave me a couple of pieces of Kare-Kare on one of their combos and 3 pieces of pares. LOL! The inasal is not that awesome but the price is over the top. A piece of chicken sliced in the middle and was spread apart to make it look like its a big piece. Geeez Louise! One good thing I could say though, they are just 5 mins away from where we are. =)

This restaurant just replaced El Sitio, the longtime neighborhood Cuban. Big shoes to fill and they are hitting a home run so far. The price is cheap and the quality is everything you’d hope for and more. Whether you are a native Filipino or a gringo who has never tried Filipino food before, you need to sample the delicacies here

I’m no expert on filipino food, so I am really interested to see what a more experienced foodie has to say about that this place. I did see quite some Filipino people dining in/getting takeout while I was there. However, I wasn’t impressed by the food. I got combo #3 for takeout, with rice and 3 sides and a drink for $ 7.50 + tax: Side 1 was a pork bbq stick. meat was kinda tough and the bbq sticks at Ihawan are better Side 2 was another pork dish. Don’t know the name but it was cubed pork pieces with thick, fatty skin. This wasn’t bad, although it was really the fatty skin that made it taste good. Side 3 was a vegetable dish, with string beans, okra, bitter melon, .and some other stuff. Not a fan of bitter melon so I didn’t like this at all, I only got it because it was the only vegetable dish they had and the lady behind the counter told me it was good. Some other sides that you could choose from include dinuguan, fish, and some other types of pork. There are about 8? sides to choose from. They also have an actual menu with some other items. Combo platter prices are affordable, but I personally felt that the portions and quality are not really worth it. Also, I briefly checked out their menu and it seems that typical dishes were priced higher than other Filipino restaurants. It might be a family owned business since I saw a young boy and girl helping out behind the counter. All the workers seemed super nice.
