My fiancé was craving a burger so since we lived so close we decided to give this place a try a few months ago. I ordered fish and chips and she ordered the regular burger. My order was a disaster … Fish and chips were soggy and literally the fish was rubbery. It seemed like they had taken the stuff out the freezer and put it in the microwave for me, the burger was medicore nothing special. But we did enjoy their french onion soup, that was the only thing that saved this rating from a 1 star. But will not be recommending nor revisiting this place in the future.

Great neighborhood bar. They stayed open during the recent blizzard and were packed. Beer selection is okay, food is solid, and they are always exceedingly welcoming and friendly. Staff is always excellent. Maybe not a destination spot, but definitely a place to frequent if you live in the area.

This is my go to neighborhood pub restaurant. The food does not disappoint and neither does the service. The bread basket is always warm and fresh and the specials are always changing to satisfy anyone’s taste buds. pull up a chair at the bar and Stop by here to watch any of the sports game showing on their many televisions and catch a bar /beer special while you’re at it. Oh and the Onion rings are crunchy! a must to pair with any burger or sandwich.

Came here for dessert and coffee with my sisters. The chocolate mousse cake was all right. I don’t think I’d order it again. The coffee was good though! The last time I was here I ordered the beet salad and it was amazing!

We are definitely fans of the Kettle. Little Girlie loves their chicken strips, and so do I. They are cooked well, and seasoned well. Their four cheese mac and cheese is tasty. I have yet to try their fish and chips, but I’m willing to bet it’s really good. The restaurant area is spacious, as is the back yard area. The service is consistently friendly and fast. We love this place and will keep coming back!

I met up with a friend here for drinks and the place had a nice crowd some eating and others drinking at the bar watching the baseball games. We were seated at a comfortable booth and the waitress came by right away to take our drink orders. We weren’t really hungry so we shared the beef nachos which were good but I wish I knew they had raw onions since I really dislike them. I have to say the ambiance here its cool and the drinks were done right.

Waitress was rude and uneducated in the restaurant business. See a spill on the table, offer napkins. See kids at a table, offer expedited service. See empty beer glasses??? You get the point. 20 Spicy bbq wings, no I don’t need napkins. It’s ok. On the other hand, the wings paired well with the goose island and the fish and chips tasted like it was from Catalina. The burger faired well with the competition of the area and the chicken parmigiana was finesse. The food was great and writing this review makes me think of the roast beef special that our waitress did not mention. For when I did ask about specials she failed to inform us that they were 86 roast beef(out of) :(. The atmosphere was great for a Father’s Day celebration and our kids settled in nicely. I will definitely be back for the food and not the service. Cheers!!!

I’d rate the food here at a around 4 stars(though the fish & chips and beets & corn salad are true favorites, delicious)… it’s the whole package that bumps it up to 5. It’s just a cool place to have the the ‘nabe, a place to go for a decent midpriced meal that has enough square footage so that, unlike many of the restaurants in the area, they will still have a table for you during peak hours. LOVE the outdoor area for when the weather is nicer! Much of the stuff on the menu is pretty tasty. In addition to the beet/corn salad and fish & chips, we also enjoy the French onion soup, burgers, sandwiches etc. The children’s menu’s a bit steep at $ 11 but you get a lot of food plus a drink & ice cream! Brunch is all right. Waitstaff is always accommodating & friendly. I’ve never been here to just drink at the bar but those that do seem pretty happy. Overall, great place to have in the neighborhood!

This used to be my very favorite go to, neighborhood place. So it’s hard for me to write a bad review. I’m just done, done, done, done, with waiting and waiting for my food order. Doesn’t matter if it’s day or night, full or quiet, it always seems to take forever for food to arrive. I’ve waited well over an hour for early dinner, and recently, about 40 minutes for a Sunday egg brunch, on a relatively quiet morning. The food is fine pub grub, nothing outstanding. Beer garden is very cool, if you don’t mind waiting for your meal. And I mean a long wait. So, I’ll continue my short walk the next time I desire such fare, and head on down the road a bit, where the wait time is not an issue, and miss the days when I used to love this place

The staff is super friendly and lots of fun to get to know. Come here often and they will treat you the best around town. The lunch specials are always super good and add a few drinks and just let the fun begin.

The fish and chips are delicious and they have Magners hard cider(I miss that since moving to Memphis). This has become a favorite place to eat for my Aunt and Uncle and since I was visiting them we ate here. Service was fast and our waiter was very sweet and patient with my family members who are partially deaf.

This is a quant neighborhood bar and restuarant. The food was good and Katie was super nice and attentive. The food is good and the prices are decent for dinner. It’s a bit dark in the restaurant but they do have candles at each table and more lighting at the bar. Pretty busy on a friday night but didn’t wait at all to be seated or to get our food. The artichoke dip is really good if you like cheese. There’s more cheese than artichoke. Disproportionate amount of chips to go with your dip. The salmon was good as well.

The service here is beyond BAD. The food is mediocre. Unless you are a bar fly, this place sucks. I live a block away and there is nowhere else in the immediate area to go. Otherwise, there would be no reason to go here. I go at off-peak times generally, so it is not even busy. I dont go here often but being in the area, I stop in every couple of months. Here is a list of my most recent visits : This summer I sat in the beer garden about 4pm. I ordered a big salad and told the waitress to minus one ingredient because I am allergic. Easy to do. Really, no fuss. I waited so long for my order, I had to ask them if they forgot me. When the salad came, half of the plate was covered with the very ingredient I told her I cant eat. I had to send it back. Salad was quite mediocre to boot. In the Spring, I stopped in late to get something to go. the hostess took my order. Simple order. I got the impression she had never actually read the menu there. I waited 30 mins for the food !!! when I got home, it was not even what I ordered. by that time it was 11pm and I was too tired to return it. I went there for brunch recently, ordered eggs florentine and the eggs were served hard boiled. I had to send it back. Tonight I went to dinner there about 10pm. there were 2 other tables already having dinner, I made the third table and then another few people came in –so total was 4 tables having some food. Maybe 10 customers tops. So it was NOT busy at all. The back room was completely empty. There were 2 waitresses, 2 busboys, 1 bartender and a hostess. so 4 staff on the floor, 1 behind the bar, and a hostess(who really doesnt have much to do). It was not busy, ok? Also, 4 wait staff and 4 tables. that means one wait person per table. I ordered pasta, and a glass of wine. comes with side salad. simple order, nothing fancy. The waitress dumped my glass of wine at the very edge of the table and took off. At the edge of the table — who does that? I was trying to order a glass of water but could not wave down any of the staff. They dont even look at you when they walk by or even if they are standing 10 inches away from you. I eventually got fed up and went to the bar myself and asked the bartender for a glass of water. Not the first time I have had to do this here. Really, the service is pathetic. Then my pasta came and a guy dumped the plate in front of me and disappeared. I have no salad. No bread basket. No cheese. No water. I asked the guy for some cheese for my pasta. I asked him about my salad. still no salad. I waved down the hostess and asked about my salad. She looks at me as if she has never heard of salad. still no salad. no bread. no water. It was at the point where I was wondering if I should just forget this meal and leave now. Finally the waitress came and I asked her for the salad — she is scrolling through her order pad asking me what salad. eventually she put a weary looking side salad at the very edge of the table and said sorry but it is sooo busy. I gave up expecting anything from this place. I am part way through my pasta(absolutely tasteless btw) and the waitress puts a glass of water at the v. edge of the table and scurries away. I already fetched my own from the bar, thank you. It is sitting right in front of me if you care to look. then she comes and puts a bread basket on the v. edge of the table and scurries away again. Why bother? Waaay too late for this. This whole fiasco was pissing me off so much, I was tempted to dump the bread basket on the floor to see if any wait staff would show. End of long story, I only ate 1⁄3 of my pasta. I took 2 sips of the wine. I paid and got the hell out of there. A Really miserable experience and substandard food. The waitress offered me free dessert. Yeah, like I’m going to stay longer in this inept circus from hell. I left the pasta and the wine. What a f — ing waste of time and money. I’m pretty sure this is my last time at the Kettle. This place does well by default because there is no competition in the area and there is no place else to go. There is not even a pizzeria around here. The day another decent restaurant opens in this neighborhood, there will be no reason to go here. I have come to the conclusion that Queens should not be considered part of NYC as standards here are so pathetically low.

Every time I’ve been here, the food has been very good. If you sit at the bar, you get decent service. Yesterday it was nice and I asked if the beer garden was still open, thinking I would have one more nice lunch outdoors before it turns winter. The bartender assured me it was open, so I went out back and started reading at a table near the sun. At the end of the chapter I still hadn’t seen a server. It had been 20 minutes and I didn’t even have a menu. Since my lunch break is 60 min long and it takes 20 to walk there and back from the office, my eating time was half over. Since the kitchen isn’t known for speed, I just walked out and grabbed some takeout Chinese on the way back to work. I’d love to give them 5 stars but the service is terrible outside and the kitchen is slow on occasion, so that counts against them. I considered them a 4 before my experience yesterday, but that hurt their rating a lot.

Been here a few times… mostly for drinks. It is my neighborhood bar. The bartender and wait staff are nice. Drinks and food are decent, but it is pricier than some other bars. I guess you pay more because it looks nicer than some of the other bars nearby. I do like the face that they have an outdoor garden.

What a great neighborhood restaurant and bar! This is really a go-to place with excellent comfort food(although they do have a big salad selection), and lots of beers on tap. The décor inside is cozy, and I especially like the wooden booths up front. The backyard is also really nice, with a mix of smaller tables and picnic tables for larger groups. As far as food, I’m a huge fan of the turkey burger(def one of the best I’ve ever had anywhere!). They also have great wings — very crispy and perfectly sauced(try the Brogie wings, which is hot sauce + BBQ sauce), and the sweet potato fries are some of my all time favorites as well(soft on the inside and crispy on the outside — yum!). I also love what a mixed clientele they have — their business truly reflects the diversity of the neighborhood because of what a welcoming place this is. I see everyone from sports fans watching the games, to young families having early dinner and«hipsters» out for a beer. The staff are also genuinely nice and so attentive. Five stars!

Nice neighborhood pub — surprised it took me so long to finally come here! Good atmosphere/vibe; spacious. Food was yummy and vegetarian friendly(they have a veggie burger). But beware — all their soups are made with chicken stock! Good draft beer selection. Really nice wait staff. Happy this place is right around the corner from me and would definitely come back!

I was shocked that I’ve been here a number of times and had yet to write a review of this place. This is one of my regular places I the Sunnyside/Woodside area on Skillman Avenue. I really love the atmosphere here, and if it’s warmer out there is a backyard area that’s perfect to hang our during your meal. Burgers are delicious. Made to order meaning if you ask for a burger to be cooked medium, that is exactly what you get. The Kettle Burger($ 14.95) is highly recommended served with lettuce, a tomato, red pepper, onion, and chipotle mayo with your choice of onion rings or fries. Staff here are really friendly and never had a bad experience here. Highly recommended if you are walking down Skillman Ave and want some good food and/or sports.

What a fun little bar by my house. Always lots of people in and out and they have a cute backyard. Went by during the Oktoberfest bar crawl — the pig roast was calling my name. We ended up sitting out back for a few hours. Food was all excellent, stafff was nice, and the bar was both cozy and you had your own space. Perfect combo!

What? I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed you dearest Kettle Bar! They have shock top on tap + bangin’ French Onion Soup everyday I like salty soups so this hits the spot. This place is one of those places you hold in your back pocket for when that specific mood of familiarity and consistency hits you aka when you’re not feeling adventurous & you want mom’s food aka if your mom was a pub aka if your mom had awesome beer and lunch specials aka if your mom was this awesome… too far? aka I don’t care
