I love Jollibee! I www craving some Filipino fast food, so I took the train all the way to Woodside from the city just to get my fix! It you get off at the 61st street subway stop, it’s a quick two blocks away. We came here on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm, and the place was crowded. I thought we already missed the lunch crowd, but it was busy the whole time we were there! I’m guessing they have a constant flow of business on the weekends. My party of 2 ordered the three piece Chicken Joy combo($ 6.99) with a side of mashed potatoes and pineapple juice, a Halo Halo(4.99), and a peach mango pie($ 1.99). We didn’t want to order too much because we were having a second lunch right after, but what we ordered already left us pretty stuffed. The Chicken Joy is fried chicken with a sweeter batter. The fried chicken has a perfectly crisp skin and flavorful and the meat is so juicy and tender! The best part is that the chicken is made fresh and so hot when you get it. The Halo Halo is a must get if you’ve never tried it. It is a dessert with shaved ice, ice cream, pudding, and jellies. It is always so good, and I have to get it every time. My new discovery is the peach mango pie. Omg the peach mango pie is to die for! The pies are similar to the concept of McDonalds’ Apple pies, but a 100xs better. The crust is crispy like a egg roll and the peach mango is not too sweet. The pie is the best! I love everything here and never have been disappointed. If you’ve never been here before, put this place on your must try list!

It’s good to have Filipino friends(or at least one) who know all of the good restaurants. If Colonel Sanders, Popeye and BoJangle were Filipinos, Jollibee would be their fried chicken franchise. The chicken here is that good… combined with spaghetti, it’s awesome. Unlike the Korean fried chicken restaurants(Kyochon and BonChon) with multiple locations, there is only one Jollibee in Woodside, Queens. Though out of the way, we’ll definitely come back again for chicken takeout.

Very disappointed with management. This is not about the food but very much about customer service at this Jollibee. Never ever had this problem until now. Order my meal that cost $ 15, waited and was on my way. I randomly checked my bank statement two blocks away and saw that they charged me twice so what a hassle I had to walk back and ask them what happened. Mistakes happen I know. But when I got there I was told to call my bank because that is not their mistake it is the banks. Okay so I keep my calm and call them bank it was 9pm at night. Just to satisfy them. No one answered on the Chase hotline. So now I was angry because I knew this wasn’t my banks fault. I asked them why this happened and they told me THISISHOWITWORKS. THEYCHARGEYOUTWICEANDTHENTHESECONDONECOLESBACKTHENEXTDAY. That is what they told me. So my $ 15 meal becomes a double transaction so now it’s a $ 30 meal. So I asked the manager so everyone right now has been charged twice their meal? And he said yes I’m pretty sure they did. This is my billionth time at Jollibee using the same card and I have never been charged twice and having the second«transactions» returned the next day. What kind of shit is that? funny thing is red ribbon and jollibee are a family company and I bought something from there 10 mins before this happened and they only charged me twice. THEYDEALTWITHTHISSITUATIONVERYPOORLY. IMSODISAPPOINTED. Now I have to go back and deal with this again because as they said to wait a day as it will come back to my card but hey guess what it didn’t.

#chickenjoy First of, leave one person to order and another to find a table to devour your food. They are always busy but turnover is very quick so no worries. It was my first time so I wanted to try everything, and I did. Fried chicken(all dark meat, yay!), sweet spaghetti(yes it is sweet, odd but I like it), pancit palabok — was a bit nervous about this one and it ended up being pretty good. And of course rice and gravy. They’re all so good. Best comfort food you can have. For some reason I tasted a bit of coconut flavor in the skin not sure if it was just imagination or if they really used it as ingredient. Oh, and you can have pineapple juice instead of soda. Leave room for some halo halo — pretty standard since it’s tough to mess up halo halo. I’ll skip the mango pie next time, prefer McD apple pie. Amazingly, despite the heavy traffic, they are able to keep the place clean. I think the customers care, they clean when they sit and when they leave. Continue the tradition!

10X better quality than KFC. Whenever I have the crave for fried chicken I just walk a few more blocks from KFC on Queens Blvd to this Jollibee location! They have simple menus ranging in increments of +1 chicken piece or side. They have their meat very well cooked with out it being so greasy! they have rice and burgers and spaghetti as well. However I usually just stick with the wings. This store usually is primed during regular lunch and dinner hours, so if you plan to sit and dine. Be prepared to wait or squeeze uncomfortably into a spot! Their cashiers are nice and do not rush you in the order, they offer suggestions and ways to save money if ordering a lot!(parties of 4+?) Price is SLIGHTLY more than average, but is so worth when you put into consideration of taste and quality! Take a picture with the bee outside(:

Four. o stars just because this is the only damn Jollibee in New York City! I had first gone here around the same time they opened. It was a much cleaner affair back then. But the longer they stayed open, of course the more pinoys and pinays that began to pack the place leaving their residue of sneaker trails and diabetes(I can say that because I’m Filipino). It’s a take out joint so don’t expect some fancy dining any time soon from the jolly folks at Jollibee. Expect a lot of fried chicken, burgers, rice, gravy, halo halo, and joy. So first thing’s first. I’m a huge fan of fried chicken and I can honestly say that the chicken here beats out anything that KFC, Popeye’s, and those random fried chicken joints that happen to also have the same initials as KFC. The meat tastes much better and the breading isn’t as bread-like as KFC’s. It’s not«spicy» as Popeye’s but overall it’s a much better fried chicken. But as of late, the chicken does seem smaller. I’m not sure if it’s me or if it’s them, but then again all the other spots have seemed to have shrunken their chicken as well. Eating the fried chicken with rice and the gravy over the rice is the best thing ever. I’ve had the burgers here as well and they are good. Would I say they’re any different from let’s say Wendy’s? Not really. But they’re good. The spaghetti, a Filipino version of it is also pretty good. Much sweeter than your typical Italian version. They also have palabok which is just alright. Now, I’ve never had the breakfast here but I used to love eating corned beef, eggs, and rice all together and they have that. It’s too bad that they don’t have SPAM for breakfast. But they do have a SPAM sandwich(which yes, Anthony Bourdain had eaten) and it’s good. But I’d rather make it at home. As far as sides, the mango peach pie is delicious but to be honest I wasn’t too impressed by their halo halo. I’ve definitely had better elsewhere. But since there aren’t too many spots that have halo halo in New York to begin with, if you want to have it you can get it. But it wouldn’t be the first place I’d go to to have my first experience with it. I come here time to time and each time the lines have gotten longer and the amount of seats available have become less. But it’s worth it if you’re in the mood for fried chicken and rice.

I came here for some desserts and it was decent. The halo halo was too sweet but the pandan icy was great. I wish they still had the ube but it sold out. I also tried their mango pastry dessert which was also very good. I will definately come back to try their fried chicken since it was packed the day I came.

This place is crazy. It’s really not that crazy but just go see for yourself. I mean it’s fast food but that doesn’t mean it can’t be delicious. Get the spam sandwich for $ 1.29… Anthony Bourdain ate it, so can you. It’s weird AND delicious. I wouldn’t eat here everyday but I would have the experience at least once in your life. Because why not.

Although wait time may be longer at times like in the weekends, it’s still worth it! I usually order the burger steak meal, the chicken joy is great however there are times that it is undercooked and the inside is a bit red. In the positive side, the staff are friendly and tries to accommodate everyone well. So that’s why I’m only giving it 3 stars!

This is a filipino fastfood. Been eating this food since I was a little kid back home in the Philippines. Good thing they have one in queens & new jersey. Whenever I crave for some filipino style sphagetti & some chicken joy-crispy fried chicken I always come to this place. Their 2 piece burger steak with rice is very good too!

Awesome fried chicken and Ube Pearl coolers. Only downside is this place is usually packed out and busy as hell. Place is super small for a fast food joint and it can take a while to place your order and actually receiving your food. I’ve encountered this place pretty empty only once and it was only cause it was close to closing time. I say if you’ve never tried this Filipino fast food gem, you should def give it a try. Just beware sometimes it’s just not worth the long aggravating wait while being packed inside the place with other patrons. If your claustrophobic you will def want to skip this place when it’s super busy.

We do not have this where we live so I was super psyched to know that this was near where we were staying at when we visited Queens. I decided to walk with my toddler in tow the 1 mile to get here, and I was glad that we went. We had already had our brunch, so I opted to just order the halo-halo. And hey, I had another mile trek back, so I wasn’t feeling too guilty ;-). This place is seated on a corner and is rather on the small side. However, as soon as you enter, you can smell the wonderful essence of chicken joy goodness. The smell is glorious people! It took every ounce of me to not order 2 drumsticks so that my toddler and I could have a taste. Anyway, we got here around 10 am on a Monday, so of course, it’s not crowded yet. We order the halo-halo and sit near the front because there happened to be a high chair right there. The halo — halo was really good! The toppings at the bottom did not disappoint — green and red gulaman(jelly), red bean, sweet beans, and jack fruit(I think), along with 1 small scoop of taro ice cream and 1 small scoop of mango ice cream, and 1 small square of leche flan. YUMMY! It took me a while to mix it all together because our container was pretty full, but my toddler(her first halo halo experience) and I both enjoined our experience there. Little tip: the crowd did start pouring in at 10:30−11am, so make sure you get there a little earlier if you want a seat since the place is not that big. Also, it can get pretty loud because the 7 train is right above the restaurant, so just know you can definitely hear it from the inside. Not a huge problem. Just throwin’ it out there =) Can’t wait to try their chicken next time we are in the area! YAY!

I made my first ever trip to Jollibee on Labor Day and had to write about my experience. We specifically came for the chicken. As we walked in, there was an employee who I had seen before as I walked by in the past. I think his job is to greet diners and clear tables. He held open the door for us to let in our stroller despite the smallness of the restaurant. He was a jolly fellow and greeted us warmly. We arrived at around 1:30 pm, and saw that the dining room was packed as usual. I ordered the bucket of chicken. The only bucket they offered was a 6 piece bucket for about $ 10. All the other Chicken Joy dishes consisted of a «meal» which included different numbers of chicken pieces combined with different sides. The bucket itself was also offered with additional sides but that upped the price quite a bit. As for the $ 10 pricing, it’s equivalent pricing to UFC(Korean) Fried Chicken’s price a few blocks down Roosevelt Avenue. As for the quality of the chicken it is better than UFC’s. Size-wise, you are given large chicken thighs and legs. There are two thighs and 4 legs in a bucket. If you aren’t too hungry, a leg and a thigh can successfully chase away your hunger. You are also given a cup of gravy to go with your chicken. Ostensibly this is a dipping sauce, however, I found that it wasn’t necessary as the skin is fully flavored as well as the meat. I think the gravy would go best with rice, if you get that as a side. Also, the gravy tasted very much like your Thanksgiving turkey gravy, a bit more concentrated and darker. I must say that the chicken was as juicy as advertised. There was literally chicken juice dripping from each bite. We also tried the caramel sundae. Just my impression, but I thought the soft serve tasted a little sweeter than conventional soft serve. On another note, I noticed that the food that is displayed on the signage above the cashiers only focus on the chicken and burgers. I didn’t really see any of the Filipino dishes on the signs. Perhaps I missed it. Nonetheless, I think it should be better advertised for non-Filipinos! I’m an adventurous eater, so I would appreciate it! All in all, despite only one visit, Jollibee left me with a good impression. I know the chicken is solid and if you visit for only this reason, you will not be disappointed. I think I should try everything else to see if it’s as good!

I always get excited when someone mentions jollibee(just reminds me of home I guess). It’s really inviting to dine here since everyone that works there –yes! Filipinos. It’s just quite unfortunate that when I crave my childhood favorite, I have to travel all the way to queens or even to jersey! Everything in jollibee is pretty affordable(under 10 bucks, majority under 7 bucks). You can never go wrong with the classic chicken-joy which tastes almost the same as the original. If you’re a «jolly expert» you’d agree that pretty much everything else is a little bit different than the ones we have in the Philippines. But what makes the experience worthwhile is the idea that you’re as close to home as possible when everything around you is Filipino.

Every time I get off 61st-woodside from the 7 train and start heading in this direction I become so happy when I see the jollibee mascot in front of the fast food chain. As I begin walking there I can already hear my stomach thanking me for taking it to eat such a tasty filipino chicken meal. I always just have their chicken as an entrée which is just mouth watering. Sometimes I accompany it with their spaghetti which is good too. As I’m having my meal, I can feel my stomach is full of joy. Although when Im done with my entrée his thanking ends and turns into praising when I order the peach mango pie. Their pie is to die for! I could eat it any day at any time! For anyone coming here for their first time, it doesn’t matter if you try their chicken or not BUT you must try their peach mango pie!(these are words from my stomach, not me) I suggest coming here if any of these apply to you: You like chicken You like food You have a stomach and want to make it happy. Final verdict: Ambiance — 6⁄10 Food — 9⁄10 Staff — 9⁄10

Being born and raised in Woodside, Queens is a huge advantage for me because of all the culturally diverse foods that are offered. One can find Mexican, Filipino, Korean, Chinese and American cuisines scattered around the neighborhood. From brick and mortar stores, to street carts, to food trucks. It’s all there. I’ve had this place bookmarked here on Unilocal for quite a number of months now, so I finally decided to pay this place a visit today. To my surprise, I walked into a crowded restaurant with no seats available. That meant this place had to be good. I took a while to look over the menu and finally decided on the 2 piece(drumstick and breast) with French fries and a halo halo. My order took about 10 minutes to prepare(kinda fast considering how crowded the place was), and the kids behind the counter were courteous and professional. Think of this place as a KFC, but Filipino. And better. The chicken wasn’t dry, but juicy and tender. The skin fell right off the meat. Not bad. The fries were also edible and weren’t bad as well. All this came with a side of complementary gravy as well. I’ve always wanted to try a Halo Halo ever since I saw my friend post a picture of it on Instagram. For $ 4.99, you can purchase a cup here. It looked unique and appetizing so I give it a try. It consisted of what appeared to be taro ice cream, jackfruit, green and red beans, assorted jellies and condensed milk. All this is served over shaved ice. Impressive. Would I be back? Definitely!

Don’t know why I went out of my way to eat fried chicken and spaghetti, but I was pretty pleasantly surprised. Super crowded late Saturday afternoon. All the tables are so close to each other and the cash register there’s no place for anybody to stand when they’re waiting. But my cashier was a modern day filipino jollibee! I don’t know how she’s so happy and perky, but it sure brightened my mood. Recommended: — spaghetti — fried chicken + curry tasting gravy — corn Not recommended: — halo halo($ 5? and it wasn’t that great.) — pandan bubble thing(kind of bland) Got our food pretty quick. But I really didn’t have a good time eating there. too crowded so everyone’s all over each other. If I lived closer I’d get it for takeout though.

Jollibee has been open in Woodside on Roosevelt Ave and 62nd St underneath the number 7 train for a few years now. This place is always busy. Anytime I have walked by it’s always packed. They have many tables and chairs available. Jollibee is Filipino fast food. I’ve had their burgers, chicken sandwich and bucket of chicken a few times now. Their chicken is nice and crispy. Their shoe string fries can be a hit or miss sometimes. I like to dip the fries in their gravy. The service is always great. Very friendly staff. No problems there. The lines can be long so have a little patience. Would I go out of my way to come here? No, if I’m in a 5 block radius and hungry for some chicken yeah maybe I would take the walk over.
