Stopped here for lunch today after church. We were seated right away. Would have been nice if the table had been wiped down first. We then waited for nearly 20 mins for our waitress to even stop by to greet us and take our drink order.(They were not busy). My dad and I each ordered fried food off the menu, so our food was okay. My husband ordered brisket and pulled pork. The brisket was going bad; it was sour(rancid). While I appreciate some man coming out to apologize and remove his meal from our ticket, my husband was too nervous to order anything else. We won’t be back. As a suggestion… I would give butter for the dry biscuits.

WHEREDO I EVENBEGINWITHTHISPLACE? My party had a reservation for about 40 people at 7:30 and it was made 3 weeks ago which gives the restaurant PLENTY of time to prepare for any mishaps because I stressed how important this dinner would be. We arrived early just to be told that it would be a 30min. wait. THEYFILLEDOURRESERVATIONBEFOREWEEVENGOTTHERE. We finally get seated around 8 and there’s only ONE waitress taking care of us. Let me reemphasize, I have FORTYPEOPLEWITHME, and they only have one waitress helping us. It took 30−40mins to get our DRINKS. After she puts in our drink orders, another waitress comes by to take our drink orders AGAIN. Another 30 mins go by and they FINALLY take our orders but it takes them so long, it’s just getting irritating by now. I’ve worked in customer service/food industry before so I can completely understand slow processes, but this is just absolutely ridiculous. Because we were waiting so long for our food, our drinks end up completely gone so when another waitress asked if we wanted a refill, we immediately jumped for more drinks. TELLMEWHYSHENEVERCAMEBACKWITHOURCUPS. WHODOESTHAT??? I made reservations for 7:30 and it’s close to 10FREAKINGPM and our food finally arrives. My friend got EXPIRED cornbread. You could literally smell the expired milk from it. We also got a brownie sundae. SUNDAE. A SUNDAE. BUTTHEYBROUGHTBACKHALF A BROWNIEWITHNOICECREAM. How the hell are you gonna give us a fucking brownie that they clearly broke in half, FINGERPRINTSANDALL. ANDTOTOPITALLOFF, THEGRANDPARENTSDIDN’T GETTHEIRFOODUNTIL11!!! When we finally spoke to the manager, she just told us they’re understaffed and are trying really hard to keep it under control. I would like to review the food but unfortunately they took so long fixing it that we had to leave before they ever brought it out. The captain took five minutes seating us and our waiter took ten minutes even getting out drink order. Ten minutes after we ordered our waiter informed us that our order had been deleted from the system and he had just put it back in. We waited 25 minutes and had to leave because my dinner partner had to go to work. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting good service.

Came in on Sunday 10÷11÷15 for lunch. Service was not good. Server did not keep drink refilled. I was sitting close to the kitchen and server station so servers were walking by my table constantly. I ordered buffalo chicken tenders and country fried steak. The buffalo chicken tenders were fresh and hot. The rest of my meal was fresh but not as fresh as the chicken. The country fried steak looked like it was a frozen item. The fries and corn nuggets were fresh but just okay. I’ll probably be back since the chicken was good; I have had good burgers there too. I’ll see if the service gets better.

I eat here pretty frequently and I’ve never had a bad experience. The food is always hot and fresh. The service is always fast and efficient. The lunch menu is a great deal, and they also have money saving specials throughout the week. If you’re looking for some good southern food, or something quick while you’re on your lunch break this is definitely the place for you.

Took a bit for us to get seated and helped. The hostess actually took care of our table. She apologized for the inconvenience stating that they only had 3 servers working. Food was good, and came out fast.

Stopped in after leaving the funeral home. There were four in our group. Sweet girl Erin waited on us and explained the entire menu to us. We were really tired and she got us through it. We ordered and the service was great Food came as ordered. Tasted great. Will for sure make the trip from Kennesaw back to folks.

There is a reason why every Folk’s out there is closing. It’s not because of the greasy, fried food. No. We like greasy, fried foods. It is because of the slow, incompetent service! It took our server almost 20 minutes to ask what we wanted to drink. We have been waiting more than half an hour for our food now. The two of is didn’t ask for anything complicated, just fried chicken and country fried steak. Like I said, the food is always good. It’s just the experience is always marred by bad service.

The restaurant is really clean and the staff is friendly. The banana pudding is SOOOGOOD and is def. homemade! I ordered from the lunch menu around 1:30pm and the chicken tenders were rather small(I got 3 chicken tenders instead of 5 because I thought they were going to be a little bigger) never the less, the chicken tenders were good. I also had mac & cheese and mashed potatoes with brown gravy as my side. The potatoes were a little thick, but yummy. The food was warm, but I was not a fan of the cornbread. Overall, very nice restaurant.

I joined a group of people that went to this restaurant. This restaurant was chosen because is was across the parking lot from where we were prior. Fried food was ordered. Fried pickles — kids love them. I ordered the catfish, fried okra, some other fried item — onion buds I believe. I’m not a big fan of fried food, and this was the most I ate in one setting in about 10 years. I ate at one of these franchises last about 14 years ago — it was cheap and edible. Bottom line — it’s cheap and edible.

Meh. The fried green tomatoes were ok but nothing special.

This is a perfectly good place… for lunch! My grilled chicken sandwich on seared bread was quite good, and the accompanying side salad was better than I remembered from the past. Lunch specials also include a beverage, all for a reasonable price. Dinner — well, it’s not my kind of place. Not long ago, T. and I grabbed a quick bite. I ordered roast chicken. What they brought out looked like one of those rubber gag chickens. «I can’t eat that!» I said to the waitress. She had to agree. The peach muffins are pretty good, as are the sides and desserts. I’m not comin’ back for dinner, but I certainly don’t mind dropping in for lunch.

Haven’t been to Folks in ages, but stopped by today with my daughter. They have a large and affordable lunch menu. The waitress was sweet and prompt. She was able to anser all of our quesions. Our food came quickly. The serving sizes were huge for lunch. It was adequate but not exceptional. The only thing I can even halfway rave about are the peachmuffins. YUM! If I was starving and in a big hurry and didn’t care much about atmosphere, Folks would be somewhere I would go again. If I’m not, I won’t. Even for the peach muffins.

Well they give you plenty of food for the money. But I can’t say that it really is all that good. Our waitress was sweet and we were taken care of so that’s a plus. My ribs were sub standard and my girlfriends fried chicken was lacking. Easily the best part of the meal was the fried pickles. I enjoyed not having to wait to be seated on a Friday night, but I realize now why there wasn’t one. Oh well glad I tried another restaurant out. But I won’t be back. One of the stranger phenomenons I encountered is that everybody was whispering here. It was creepy and you could hear everyone eating. I like my restaurant’s with a little noise. It’s safe to say if you let one go here people are going to notice. *The WiFi didn’t work(I don’t think it was theirs) *No coke zero.

Folks is an OK place. It’s clean and the staff, for the most part, are friendly. The food is nothing special, but its usually better than I can prepare. Just basic, Southern style dishes, peach muffins and sweet tea. :)

A rude hostess was our first negative impression. An inept waitress was next, followed by a poor imitation of Southern cooking. The restaurant was completely mismanaged. I also noticed that their last health inspection score was 71. I can now see why Folks restaurants have been closing steadily over several years. The most miserable dining experience imaginable.

They may claim it’s southern cooking but I don’t think so. Ordered catfish and hushpuppies everything was over cooked, almost burnt. Sweet tea wasn’t sweet. Would I go back? No way!

I love the waiters and waitresses here… most of them have worked there forever, and they remind me of the old southern style… the food is well… it’s Folks, so if you’re looking to clog your arteries and fill up your gallbladder, it’s the place to go. One thing I love about it is when I’m not in the mood for anything, I can find something here to eat and leave completely satisfied. Favorite dishes… Broccoli rice casserole Squash casserole Mashed potatoes with white gravy and creamed corn(mix them together, and it’s fabulous) Hush puppies Fried okra Cinnamon apples Sweet potato soufflé Oh… and there’s a DRIVE-THRU now!!!
